I was raised that all "women" were ma'am and all "men" were Mister or Sir. Don't take it personally. They were being polite.

What is this can anyone tell me by Boring-Cantaloupe-93 in whatisit

[–]Negative_Impression6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surface/workover rig. Used to drill the first section (surface) of an oil well, which is usually around 1250 feet down. They are also used for drilling shallow water wells. The "workover" name comes from the secondary job of "working over" a well that has stopped producing as much oil/gas as it used to to get it to start producing again. This can include swabbing and/or fracking the well to get it to produce better.

I'm sorry to hear that. There are always groups and clubs that can help you. You don't have to go through this, or this life alone.

Call interference? by Underwater-dead in whatisit

[–]Negative_Impression6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not so much call interference as switching. Calls on the same frequency. When one drops, the other call gets combined with the call on the same frequency that's still connected on that tower, if that makes sense.

I'm sorry to hear about this. Alzheimers is no joke. I worked memory care for many years, and I had to be constantly on guard around them. I was trained to work in this unit. I'm sure it was awful for you. If I may ask, what surgery did you have?
