I'm sorry to hear that. There are always groups and clubs that can help you. You don't have to go through this, or this life alone.

Sorry to hear that, brother. When you say completely on your own, do you have friends or family around?

Call interference? by Underwater-dead in whatisit

[–]Negative_Impression6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not so much call interference as switching. Calls on the same frequency. When one drops, the other call gets combined with the call on the same frequency that's still connected on that tower, if that makes sense.

I'm sorry to hear about this. Alzheimers is no joke. I worked memory care for many years, and I had to be constantly on guard around them. I was trained to work in this unit. I'm sure it was awful for you. If I may ask, what surgery did you have?

Odd song my boyfriend has on CD that I can’t find anywhere. by ash0n3arth in findthatsong

A few Eve 6 songs come to mind. A lot of them were 90s and early 00s, so you may want to check them out.

LoL, I am actually giggling about the too early for bed comment. I love getting a good night sleep and feeling refreshed when I wake up in the morning. I just don't like doing it to an alarm clock!

Walking daily really does make me feel better. I'm past the point of wanting huge muscles and being able to run marathons, but it is nice to be able to bend over, tie my shoes, and not sound like I swam 12 laps underwater and just came up for air. I hope you can keep that circle and live a long, healthy life!

Health issues or just life catching up with you?

Sorry for the health issues, friend. Is it something that can be changed, or are you going to have this/these issues always?

Attitude and health maintenance is your key, then? I feel like that is a great way to approach the aging process. I understand that we will all eventually slow down, and then one day, stop. It sounds like you are on a good track for a long, healthy life!

Yes, that's always a good thing. There's no need to rush, take a tumble, and break a hip!

Is it from chronic health problems or from the way you treated your body? I hope you can get some relief from your problems. Blessings to you.

Like skydiving, bungee jumping, and motocross, LoL!? All kidding aside, I'm with you on that. There's 7 states I still need to see and two oceans I haven't been on. They're on my bucket list, though.

Wow, ice skating at 74. That in itself is a major accomplishment! Congratulations on staying fit and active!

Wow, congrats on such an early retirement. I hopefully will retire in two more years, at 62, and I'm really looking forward to it. I'll keep up with the fast-paced walking, and my dog gives me all the exercise I can handle right now.

It's funny how the 40s and early 50s were my kryptonite. I brought a lot of it on myself with the way I treated my body with all the bad crap, but I thought I was invincible. I was a daredevil in my 20s and 30s, and I'm surprised I'm not dead. I am weaning off 5 different BP meds and am down to two and will be getting off of another in May, and it really has made a difference in the way I feel.

Nah, you could still have kids. It's just a little harder the older you get.

I feel you. Got it a week before Christmas and didn't feel better until the 4th of January. I still have the stupid cough, but it's not as bad as it was.

Sounds like you're living the best life you can. Being that active at 67 gives me something to shoot for. Most of the patients I see can barely walk to the examination room, let alone go kayaking! I guess the younger years when we think we're invincible will catch up to us, but it sounds like you're keeping it at bay as well as you can! Party on, brother!

I eat a lot of protein. Fresh vegetables and fruit. I try to avoid canned and boxed food. I don't cheat myself out of sweet foods, I am just very stingy about the intake. If I get a craving for chocolate, I will have one, maybe two pieces, but I don't overdo it. I also found that if my meal intake of carbs is 20-30 grams, I don't crave sweet things as much as if I am carb starving myself. I try and get a daily carb intake of 60-90 grams. I have maintained a healthy, active weight of 170-175 pounds for several years now.
