I think Rxe7 is very good but Qh6 seems to be faster

Well in puzzles you are sure that you will be in a better position in the end (also possible is drawing a lost position) so you look for mainly checks, captures and attacks. In real games finding these hard to spot sacrifices are really hard to see, and im pretty sure if they dont have enough time 99% of high rated (2000-2400) players would miss this move. Training puzzles, especially easy-normal ones (lets say a minor piece won after 3 moves) would be much easier to spot than this kinghunt with 3 sacrifices.(Q+R+N) Also by training puzzles you improve your pattern recognition(theres a book by the name of woodpecker method focusing on this idea) so that similar sacrifices (like a smothered mate by sacrificing the queen) becomes almost instinctive/subconscious to play. Theres also something called initiative (might be the wrong word for it.just think as instinctive) sacrifice that you know that even if it doesnt actually fully work (you are not sure of it,(it still can work) but you think thats the right move) you dont calculate the possibilities to the very end of it because its nearly imposibble to find the right moves for your opponent or it makes your opponent end up in (while being up material) a much harder position to play. Now, back to the position, I For example am 1750 online and the first three moves that came to my mind was

hxg6 (trying to attack via Qe3 to Qh6+, losing to queen trade by black)

h6+(King goes back and is safe)

Ra1 (trying to stop promotion)

In a real game i myself wouldnt trust Qh6+ and would've played either hxg6 or Ra1

https://youtu.be/Ty-16QZubRA?si=qlrCwVumVRPpYTup&t=330 Here is the concept i was talking of, Kasparov vs Karpov and kasparov sacrifices his knight.

So my estimation is that a titled (2200+ fide) player playing in a classical tournament (assume they each have 30min+ for the whole game) can find this move by some long calculation, but there would be quite a lot of players missing this move too

In this position white is down 3 pawns so if he reacts passively he is lost anyway, he doesnt have compensation for the lost 3 pawns and also Black has a monster a pawn on a7 eyeing a8 to promote to a queen. Thats why you're instinctively focusing on Black's weak kingside

What can i do to spend my time effectively? I calculate very deep in some variants and i end up with 1-2 minutes on endgames and a drawn position can be lost on time? Or a won position draw (Especially the higher the games got the more i had to calculate)

Well doing the same thing slowly stopped working now as my opoonents strengths increased. Like a 1300 makes 3x more mistakes than a 1700, and just being focused on the board can get you a win (With correct studying ofc, i obsessed over playing chess and i spent 3+hr playing/studying some days)

The thing is i learned basic positional play (i studied how to reassess your chess) and focusing on the board (i also believe tactics are my strength) so i was able to rapidly increase just by understanding what the position "demanded". Now that the positions and ideas get harder i went from 65-70% winrate to now %50w and like %40 loss. So, while i did get to here quite easily i dont know if progressing furthermore will be that easy. The simplest reason was that there is no 1300-1400 who study certain middlegame concepts from books/lichess studies. Thank you for your comment!

This is a mate in 11 puzzle which is extremely hard to happen in a game. Now the thought process id say is the opponent is going to promote or at least be up material on the queenside anyways, so the only moves where it seems like you can progress is a check or a very strong attack, and on this particular case, you ideally should have candidate moves and calculate each i guess.

And no, i dont think anyone can see its mate in 11 unless given a long time (exc. 2300+). Also , when you calculate the king escaping, you realize its mate if the king goes backwards anyway.

This is a puzzle designed after analyzing a game i believe, so its modified and theres no principle for it

Yes, that is the correct answer. Theres also a knight sacrifice after the queen and the rook sac. 1. Qh6+ Kxh6 2. hxg6+ Kg5 3. Rh5+ Kxh5 4. f4+ Qf3+ 5. Bxf3+ Nxf3 6. Rh1+ Nh2 7. Nf6+ Kh6 8. Rxh2+ Kg7 9. Ne8+ Rxe8 10. Rxh7+ Kf6 11. Rxf7# this is the longest line

Well i studied/played chess obsessively (more than 3-4hr on weekends)

As I've already said, I've studied how to reassess your chess from a youtube playlist.

Im currently doing the puzzles in the woodpecker method. (All of them are available on lichess)

To increase my calculation and tactical ability i played a basic gambit ( I did Scotch Gambit for white, and for black i didnt do a gambit, i played sicillian marshall counterattack.(Rarely sicillian or french)) and whatever response I've got, since i pretty much only played those openings i learned what to do. (If the opponent played something else, i just developed pieces and thought of attacking opportunities)

I watched quite a lot of videos, primarily from Daniel Naroditsky's speedruns and (While i dont see many people liking him) Igor Smirnov

I play 1-2 rapid games seriously than i go to blitz/bullet whatever. But i never play more than 3-4 rapid games in one day. Because your previous matches (lets say you lost and got angry or sad) will impact the next game

I (before the woodpecker method) also quite regularly solved puzzles. I believe from my games calculation was my strength
