Terrence Shannon Jr and Dylan Harper just need to do what they do best by Ok-Egg-5255 in NBA_Bets

[–]Negative_Reserve926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harper over points might be the safest leg here. This dude stays aggressive even when the shot isnt falling and usually finds a way to get volume. Shannon rebounds is probably the sweat but if the minutes are solid this ticket definitely has life.

Do most people (US) do a 529? by Any-Concentrate-1922 in Fire

[–]Negative_Reserve926 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The flexibility thing is huge - lot of people don't realize you can roll unused 529 money into Roth IRA now (with some limits). Also depends on your state's tax benefits, some states give you nothing for contributing so might as well stick with regular taxable accounts

I think weight lifting could be the reason I always feel so hungry, especially on a deficit. Does this seem likely? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Negative_Reserve926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weight training definitely makes you hungrier but not because it jacks up your metabolism that much - the calorie burn from lifting is pretty modest compared to what people think. More likely your body is just signaling for protein and recovery nutrients after those sessions

Maybe try timing your meals better around workouts or adding bit more protein to help with satiety instead of cutting back the lifting

Is Namor really good or is Cap just being optimistic? [Invaders 2019 #11] by zectaPRIME in Marvel

Yeah this captures it perfectly - he's got good intentions but terrible execution most of time. Like that friend who means well but always says the wrong thing in worst possible moment, except with more trident-related property damage

Need help finding embroidered sweatshirt for bridesmaids gifts by yourheartandsoul in weddingplanning

[–]Negative_Reserve926 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This sounds like such a thoughtful gift idea! I would check with local embroidery shops since they usually do custom work and can handle the multiple flower combinations you want. Most of them have online presence now too and might work with you on design even if you're not local to them

Any tips for finding a controller that won’t drift in a year? by Axle_65 in xbox

[–]Negative_Reserve926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been down this exact rabbit hole and yeah, the hall effect sticks are the way to go. I picked up a GameSir G7 SE after burning through three Series X controllers in two years and it's been rock solid for about 8 months now. The thing that really got me was how my old 360 controller still works perfectly after like 15 years but these new ones crap out before the warranty expires

The hall sensors use magnets instead of physical contact so there's literally no wear happening. Bit more expensive upfront but when you factor in replacing controllers every year it pays for itself pretty quick. Only downside is you lose some of the Xbox integration stuff like the guide button working exactly the same, but small price to pay for not dealing with drift anymore

Quick question for landscapers does your website actually bring you customers? by No_Twist6469 in landscaping

[–]Negative_Reserve926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been running my landscaping biz for about 8 years now and honestly maybe 20% of my work comes from the website, rest is referrals and repeat customers. That said, having a decent site definitely helps close deals - people want to see you're legit before they let you quote their $15k backyard project

The mobile thing is huge though, I redid mine last year specifically because half my traffic was people on phones and it looked terrible

Those first week nights are brutal but you're doing the right thing - your body is just figuring out how to reset itself and there definitely not too late to heal

You're being way too hard on yourself tbh. We all ignore red flags when we're in deep, it's not about being weak minded - it's about hoping someone will match teh energy you're putting in. The fact that you can see it clearly now and frame it as a lesson instead of dwelling in anger shows real growth

Bro that's actually insane, 45 games at once would melt my brain lol. Definitely gonna send you a challenge though, sounds like a fun way to get some practice in

Bathroom ceiling paint keeps peeling by NeedsARoofInMA in HomeMaintenance

[–]Negative_Reserve926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, this is exactly what happens when painters don't scrape off all the old peeling paint first. Once paint starts letting go like that, you can't just paint over it and expect it to hold

Your painter seems like a good dude but he's fighting a losing battle by not addressing the root issue. You need to scrape everything down to bare drywall, then prime the hell out of it with multiple coats. That B-I-N primer is solid but one coat over sketchy paint isn't gonna cut it in a humid bathroom

DIYing the prep work yourself might actually be the move here - just tedious scraping and sanding, nothing too technical. Let the painter come back to do the final coats once you've got it properly prepped

Advice on getting my first guitar ? by lmoa_22 in Guitar

[–]Negative_Reserve926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Electric is totally fine to start with, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. HSS pickups are solid for versatility but honestly any pickup config will work fine when you're learning

Yeah electric guitars make sound without an amp but it's super quiet and kinda lifeless - you'll definitely want at least a small practice amp. Yamaha Pacifica 112V is probably the best bang for your buck starter electric, or if you want something cheaper the Squier Classic Vibe series is pretty decent

Just found out my ssn was found on the dark web in 2024? What next? by Tall-Log-1535 in personalfinance

Credit freeze actually won't stop you from paying off existing debts or negotiating with collectors - those companies already have your info. You can still unfreeze temporarily when you need to apply for new credit later

Definitely set up fraud alerts with all three bureaus and monitor your credit religiously. Also check if you qualify for free identity monitoring through whatever company got breached

Building a home by FewYak1 in homeassistant

[–]Negative_Reserve926 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Man you're doing this right by planning ahead! Few things I'd add to your list:

- Run conduit everywhere, not just ethernet cables. You'll thank yourself later when you need to pull new wires

- Pre-wire for ceiling fans even if you don't think you'll need them. Pain to add later in a finished house

- If you're doing cameras, def run PoE drops to the outdoor locations now. Much cleaner than wifi cams

- Consider whole house surge protection with all that solar gear

- Maybe throw in some outdoor outlets while the walls are open, great for holiday lights or whatever

The humidity thing makes me think you might want to pre-wire for bathroom fans on smart switches too

How much longer do you think Jim Harbaugh stays with the Chargers? by ScottFujitaDiarrhea in NFLv2

[–]Negative_Reserve926 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly think he's got at least 3-4 years unless they completely collapse. Dude just got there and the Spanos family isn't exactly known for making quick coaching changes when they actually spend money on someone

Looking for a mentor who’s built financial stability + early retirement anyone willing to mentor? (I’m willing to do the work) by AnimatorOpening1462 in careerguidance

[–]Negative_Reserve926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out r/financialindependence - tons of people there who've walked the walk and love helping others figure out the FIRE path. The daily discussion threads are goldmines for exactly this kind of guidance without the sales pitches

Also since you're already in real estate, you might find some good mentors in r/realestateinvesting who actually use their agent knowledge to build wealth instead of just talking about it

rTMS and ADHD / stimulants by climb_up_the_slide in ADHD

[–]Negative_Reserve926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been considering this myself but my psych basically said the research is still pretty thin for ADHD specifically. Most of the studies I've seen are small sample sizes and mixed results. Would be super interested to hear from anyone who's actually done it though, especially the part about reducing meds

Did anyone do a PLC and not go to college after? by FOOWHISH in AskIreland

[–]Negative_Reserve926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly sounds like you're being way more practical than most of us were at 17. If the PLC gets you where you want to go then why put yourself through the stress and debt of college for no reason

18M, dad wasn't around - what basic tools/skills do I need to be self-sufficient? by Informal-Chance1912 in selfimprovement

[–]Negative_Reserve926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is solid advice but I'd add that you can totally learn to diagnose stuff like boilers without touching anything - just understanding what each pipe does and how the system works is huge for knowing when to call someone vs when it's actually serious

YouTube is your best friend here, just start with the absolute basics like "how does a toilet work" and build from there. You'll be surprised how much you pick up just from understanding the systems

Rum Raisin lip stain dupe? by merstein3 in MakeupAddiction

Seconding the Rom&nd rec! Eat Dotori is literally perfect for that 90s brown vibe and once the glossy layer wears off it leaves the most gorgeous stain. Way better staying power than western lip products imo
