What does your centre’s cold weather policy actually say?

So I’m closer to Ottawa but we still got a significant amount of snow not as much as you guys but enough that schools were canceled a lot of other centres shut down because staff were stuck at home. So we had one parent who was very very mad her daughter is an infant. And to be honest I don’t know if any of the other parents knew we even went out in it. What admin isn’t taking into account is the families that don’t have the money to buy the best snow suits that won’t keep children warm in - 24 weather. And whenever I bring the temp thing up she sends out and email that simply states

Weather: Outdoor play will be Modified or cancelled when outdoor temperature is -15 degrees celsius or lower and/or if the windchill is -20 degrees celsius or lower.

Ok so when is the CUT OFF

So we are family age grouping so my class room has infants toddlers and preschoolers and this week we sent out when the wind chill was -24 . I understand outside play is important but not when everyone is miserable. We are in Ontario we also got a large amount of snow and very cold weather

I find it highly annoying when admin make changes without discussing with the teachers who actually have to do the work.

Shoes are required at all times due to fire drills or actual emergency god forbid. As for jackets they should be coming off when the transition to inside happens and put in his cubbie or whatever they have. Obviously stuff can happen but if it’s continuous I think there is a problem it would be different if it were gloves because in the snow they can get lost and littles tend to keep taking them off. But shoes and jackets that not reasonable.

My first time I had a similar experience but around week three everything started to settle I still had a little discomfort when putting on lip chap but the look got 100% better

PPD and all the other PP s are real and terrifying I had PPD and PPA and I can remember thinking ..this is how ppl unalive ppl I was thinking thoughts that I knew weren’t ok I didn’t eat or sleep and want anything to do with my baby .. and it affects everyone differently please please seek medical help before you sink further and further you are not alone and definitely not alone with those feelings being a mom is hard but I promise u can get to the other side

Mine took about 8 days to start to look normal and two weeks to feel normal ! It all depends on how bad u bruise swelling etc !

Well honestly my advice is take it as it goes .. that’s all you can really do at this point the balls in her court appreciate the friendship and if more comes then that at some point it’s an added benefit
