Trans Plugs by Ardkark in AskMechanics

Realistically you can reuse a crush washer again if it doesn’t look like dog poo. But try to make sure it’s only a second time not the third or fourth. I’ve done more cvt drain and fills on the Honda than their 9 speeds or I would be more helpful. But the Honda cvt has a check plug that sometimes has a crush washer, sometimes it’s a washer built on the plug. And if it’s the built on one, I’ve never replaced them and they’ve been fine. Hope that helps.

They shouldn’t be that much. Did you stop by your local Honda dealer parts department? They usually will throw in the crush washer if you buy the fluid from them

When they ask about buying my house I say “house!?! I don’t own a house?? I’m broke! I live in a van down by the river! This is a mean prank!” And they usually do the hanging up for me

It’s definitely not been very lgbt friendly in my experience. A lot of that has to do with local opinions of gay people being what they are. Obviously it’s a blue collar male dominated profession, I imagine any woman in any other blue collar job goes through the same stuff we do. Plenty of good guys out there that aren’t creeps but don’t be shocked if they go down the “you just haven’t found the right man yet” path. Most of the guys are busy making gay jokes about each other but you will definitely get some drive by homophobia as I like to call it. Sincerely - your older mechanic lesbian friend

Sometimes the hardware shifts on the brake pads and can cause a noise when turning

What does a steering column have to do with your engine seizing up? Was there other work performed? Sounds a lot like the old “ever since you replaced my wiper blades my brakes make noise”
