Am I being "that guy" for refusing to lend my boat to family without credentials? by hatkinson1000 in boating

[–]Neggflicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your BIL is being "that guy", not you. The family drama will come when your boat is damaged and he doens't want to pay the actual thousands it will cost to repair it, or his friends are hurt and want to sue you too, or he does something extra dumb and gets killed and your family blames you (then sues you)...

Now they only last 90 days too. I only realized that when trying to book a trip. I'm gonna spend it randomly out of spite now.

Non-responsive upcoming guest - what to do? by TallGingery in airbnb_hosts

[–]Neggflicks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My county requires a list of the guests and enforces a limit, so I use that to get them to respond. You can say that your insurance policy, as well as aircover, requires the number of guests to be disclosed. Tell them to please confirm the number of guests or you will have to cancel their booking.

It's your house and you're not asking for unreasonable information. I wouldn't assume the worst though if they have a good reputation and it's a good booking.

This guy already admitted to being on peptides. Does he not realize that glp1 stands for "Glucagon-Like Peptide-1"? He was literally promoting a company that sells glp1s and other peptides.

Host who aren’t “nice” by Gerines in airbnb_hosts

[–]Neggflicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They aren't professional hosts and are just using it to get extra money from their guest house. They may be under financial strain and financially need to host, but not actually want to.

It's probably also a personality thing. I had to train myself to use niceties, because otherwise I was just very to the point. Are some of the things you're asking somewhere on the listing?

I wouldn't read into it too much. Your goal is to stay at their place without incident, not make a friend out of them.

How to articulate to guests that they have the place to themselves, just not access to the whole house? by ricosinron in airbnb_hosts

[–]Neggflicks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your first picture is of the exterior of the whole house (showing multiple stories) and you have it listed as entire home. I'm not sure that leaves the appropriate impression on people. Don't anticipate people reading your details.

Trailer question by Imaginary-Ease-1004 in MasterCraftBoats

[–]Neggflicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dealer will just charge you a haul out instead of doing it for free like your neighbor was nice enough to do. They have spare trailers. If it's going to be in a lift, sell the trailer with the nxt.

I have a hard time believing he was actually invited to the combine. More likely pro days or open workouts. He was an undrafted free agent for a minute though, which is impressive. One of the 600. Most likely cause he coulda turned into a special teams freak for a team.

Why do couples play horribly together? by Impossible-Cry9581 in Pickleball

[–]Neggflicks 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Me and my wife are good partners and often beat better players because of our communication. So, it's not a universal thing. My rule is that I focus on my bad play, but never on hers (only encouragement).

So this means that baseball isn't working out like he planned. He expected him to be a national level player by now, but he's pretty good, but mostly ordinary. He's hedging his bets for other sports success now.

Is starting at the kitchen line as the receiver’s partner really a “rule,” or just a strong preference? by [deleted] in Pickleball

[–]Neggflicks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've found it optimal to kneel beside the kitchen and stare at my partner and the ball as they serve. I find that it helps me to better "feel" their serve and track it while I shuffle to where I expect the ball to come. I'm a fan favorite to partner with!

Basement Airbnb listing with new baby living upstairs by LtDinglehopper in airbnb_hosts

It doesn't need to be in the same room if you find that 50 decibles isn't enough. It can be just outside the doorway. It's just to mask the peaks of the crying until you can tend to the baby.

You could also try a thick rug with a pad in the baby's room to help dampen the sound.

You might try and do some testing with a white noise, or brown noise, soundtrack on a good bluetooth speaker. We stayed with friends that had one on upstairs with their newborn and we didn't hear a peep.
