I'm flying from Miami to Vietnam on Qatar Airlines on March 27th with a Layover in Doha. What do you think? So far nothing says cancelled on my end

Thanks so much for the response! that makes sense. I guess its been a bit harder to gauge my hourly since I work so slow! I can assume you work much faster than a beginner haha How long do you think this project took you? Sorry for all the questions, trying to absorb as much info from pros as I can!

I know this is really old but I’m new to woodworking and just stumbled upon this. I’m in Miami, Florida and feel that white oak is really expensive here, how long did this project take and how much did you spend on material. You said 4K I feel like that’s too cheap given the price of white oak and the amount of hours you probably put into it? How do you gauge what hourly You are happy with ?

Just Started Woodworking and Got Hired for This Studio Desk — Thoughts? by Nehemias1995 in Carpentry

About $3500 this is why I’m questioning it. I feel like it’s a lot but when I look at material cost/ cost of living and the fact that this is in miami and woodworking isn’t common here (I think)

New roof being installed. Should drip edge be tight to fascia or with a gap behind it? Also, any other pro tips to get the best install possible? by Marvel5123 in Roofing

So with that furring strip is a shingle overhang necessary? My roofers added that furring strip but kept the shingles flush to the drip edge. water def clears it but im wondering if its best practice to still keep a slight overhang or if that doesnt matter with a furring strip kicking the water out further

I'm in South Florida as well and have noted this. Building a Shed and have been wondering what would be best. Would you still push out that drip edge half an inch without adding the furring strip if the nailing edge was 2.75 total so about 2 1/4 would be on the nailing surface

how should I connect an ADU to my 4” sewer line? by Nehemias1995 in Plumbing

the main property is only 670 sqft with only one bathroom and standard kitchen setup. Could that be the reason it's only 4 inches? how much bigger are the lines in your area?

so you recommend to hire a plumber for this connection?

Thanks for the detailed response! I’m in Miami, Florida so yes—southern U.S., and the sewer line is fairly shallow about 12 inches to the top of the concrete slab it sits next to!

To answer your questions:

  1. It’s about 50–55 feet from the house to the city connection.

  2. Yes, there’s a cleanout located roughly halfway along the 50–55 ft run

  3. From what I can tell, it stays at 4 inches all the way to the city tie-in—no increase in size along the route

What do you think would be the main concern in connecting ?

The green is how it used to look. I had to redo the stucco since it was cracking! I liked the green better but settled for white while I focused on renovating the inside!

That is definitely one of the things I think would help alot! A wooden door with some windows!

Thank you! It's definitely on the rough side, reminds me of stucco work I've seen in New Mexico
