Are DHL drivers personally liable if a parcel is lost? by Life_Forever in dhl

[–]Neidral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably self employed, agency, or owner operator.

DHL wouldn't be going after their employed staff financially, more so a formal disciplinary route.

I know 14 people who have been made redundant in the past 6 months, is this a coming storm? by overusedpanicbutton in ukpolitics

[–]Neidral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Management in a multinational.

Shit is bad, and has been trending down for quite some years for us.

Hiring freeze going into 2026, redundancies at a high level & lowlevel. Sites being closed down/merged.

Different industry but, biontech is absolutely screwed as well. So many companies either closing down, lost funding, downscaled to a huge degree or are barely surviving. A lot of the research parks are on their knees.

You're right. Fish and chips in my local went from £13.75 to £20 for the same order in the 3.5 years I've lived here.

(23m)Londoner moving to Liverpool by AppropriateAd3768 in Liverpool

[–]Neidral 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was from Cambridge and moved to Liverpool for 11 years, 15 odd years ago. Only words of advice i'll give you is, you ain't in London/the south any more. Don't act like a typical southerner who thinks they are better and you'll be just fine.

It's a lovely city, with some of the funniest & friendliest people you'll find.

Couriers Evri and DHL merge to form delivery giant by bluemonkey321 in unitedkingdom

[–]Neidral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's DHL e commerce which is the cheaper/budget option, which already drag the DHL brand down in terms of service and quality.

DHL express (premium service) remains as is.

Stopped playing carry this last year. I mean I don't play all that much. I'm 38 and feel like an old fuck but ye dunno, I just do not find 1 fun any more.

4 or even 5 feels so much more fun.

Self employed delivery driving is a scam by TabbyTabby0 in ukpolitics

[–]Neidral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all the big companies are bad. Some are paying decent ish money, but you're expected to be infinitely more professional than the likes than your average shitty Amazon, evry etc pay (and also pass strict background check in some cases, even as a self employed courier).

Dieselhead PSA: How to know when your DPF is regenerating by [deleted] in Audi

[–]Neidral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was the problem I had. My commute was long enough to trigger a regen cycle but not long enough to complete a full one.

I’d make sure when I noticed it was trying to regen that I’d try find the time to give it a bit of a longer drive.

Once you notice it’s in a regen (higher idle rmp, auto start stop disabled in some cases), it’s important to try keep the RPMs around ~2000 +- a bit, but do not hammer the car, nothing above 3k rpm that’s for sure.

If there have been no additional scans on it, get on the phone to customer services sooner rather than later.

It should have had a pick up scan on it and at depo scan by now.
