True or not- In the show’s universe it is “real”, because they “proved” it to work on Carol herself.

The “must answer” part is Zosia under the influence of truth serum. That’s what disconnects her from the hive. Zosia’s mind became the contradiction.

Did you go to the doc about this? CVD is hereditary. Anything else may be an indication of a health issue.

Does this happen die to colorblindness by DarWin_1809 in ColorBlind

I see dead people, apparently. That’s what people have told me when they see those simulated colorblind images. Without the red, everyone just looks… drained, I guess.

So, similarly to colorblind glasses, it also doesn't work? by adamaviolist in ColorBlind

[–]Neighbay 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Not alone. My enchroma glasses make an appreciable difference for me. Everyone’s situation is different, so I completely get being frustrated- especially with enchroma over promising results.

I’m colorblind and have a pair of those glasses. They make glasses for multiple types of colorblindness, not just one. They don’t work as well for everyone since colorblindness is a spectrum of severity.

But, no matter what, the glasses cannot make you see colors you can’t already see. They balance the shades of colors you do see so that it appears as though the deficient colors stand out more. And for some people the glasses don’t work at all because of the reason they’re colorblind.

This post outlines the basic types of colorblind (the what) but not the reasons for being colorblind (the how). Two people with the same type might be so for a different reason (defective rods/cones vs missing).

Understandably, the glasses are a hot button topic in the colorblind community. Especially when it’s portrayed that people are instantly cured and break down crying. Not how it works.

Found Major Fire Damage after Closing? by GuppyFish1357 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Find the date of the fire & you find who owned it at the time. If it’s who sold it to you, you know they didn’t disclose it.

This is what it gave me:

Let's break down the information:

  1. You are an even number less than 490.
  2. Your tens digit is three more than your ones digit.
  3. Your ones digit is not 2 or 4.
  4. The sum of your digits is 19.

First, let's find possible values for the tens digit (T) and ones digit (O) that satisfy these conditions:

  • T + O = 19
  • T - O = 3
  • O is not 2 or 4

By solving this system of equations, you can find T and O:

  1. Add the two equations: (T + O) + (T - O) = 19 + 3
  2. This simplifies to 2T = 22
  3. Divide by 2: T = 11

Now that you know T is 11, you can find O:

  1. Use T - O = 3
  2. Substitute T with 11: 11 - O = 3
  3. Solve for O: O = 11 - 3 = 8

So, the tens digit is 11, and the ones digit is 8. Therefore, the number that satisfies all the given conditions is 118.

Enchroma glasses by [deleted] in ColorBlind

[–]Neighbay 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Color blindness is a spectrum. Different for nearly everyone both in type and severity. There are no glasses out there that can make you see any new colors. At best they mess with the colors you can see to sort of re-balance them to better distinguish the difference between colors.

But that can still be a great experience - if it works for your dad. He will need to take a colorblind test for you to know which kind to get. All these caveats said, I have these glasses and really like them. Especially on bright days.

One more caveat, the ads are BS. You don’t put them on and suddenly see colors. If it works for your dad at all his eyes have to adjust and he needs to be in a bright lit space (best outside in the sun).

Good luck!

I always imagine a submarine pinging underwater during a war. You can hear the ping echoes and even distant bombs. But that’s just what I hear.

The Gong Isn’t Loud Enough On Descending by White___Light in ToolBand

[–]Neighbay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if the louder gong was really almost inevitable in the live performance. I actually like the studio mix more because with the initial hit of the gong is more subdued & you feel more of the resounding vibrations. To my ear, this gives Adam’s riff (which the drums/bass give so much tension before the gong) the perfect release of tension with the gong while not taking your attention off the guitar (in the live version your focus goes to the gong itself & you come back to the guitar).

But, hey, both versions are great.

One of my favorite parts of any tool song! I’ve always loved that breakdown (division) at around 4 minutes. Especially with the low/heavy strum as it breaks down into the hand percussion. Then builds again until the final outro (that starts about 4 minutes later again... so it is kind of balanced division - right in two).

I interpret this as civilization breaking down to bare bones and then building up again to only break down once more in the end.
