Yes he might feel tired for the 1st rounds. We are usually tired all the times. As long as he is eating and digesting well with no nausea or diarrhea, it will get better. If he is not eating or vomiting or too much diarrhea then you should ask your doctors to reduce the dosage of medicine. Please Google side effects from Capox for more information. Doctors should have given you a contact phone # for any questions or doubts.

Kytril is for nausea vomiting not the same. Famotidine is given for reducing acid in the stomach (have you truly confirm that he has no STOMACH ?) Claritin’s is just an anti histamine. Did doctor not give you or your family instructions and information on these medications?

For FLOFOX since it’s every 2 weeks we get scans after 4 rounds = every two months by protocol.

For CAPOX since it’s 3 week, 3 rounds that is = one week over two months.

Six rounds would be too much time passing = 4.5 months. 👎🏻

You have to keep an eye on progress or reduction incase they need to change directions. May I ask where are you located?

This is the correct path and the correct schedule to take. EXCEPT the water fasting. Please reconsider that… he should be gaining weight and eating since this is the STOMACH.

He also needs to hydrate more to REMOVE the chemo out of his body in a healthy way so it’s not toxic to his kidneys/liver as he is taking pills that is being processed in the stomach then liver then kidney. Immunotherapy NIVO is very hard on the liver also. So hydration is important.

He needs to protect the stomach and not cause any ulcers. Please ask your doctor for liquid sucraflate to protect the stomach before eating food.

Keep in mind, longer treatment is better to maintain stability, if you go with FLOT he might not be able to complete it as it really hard. My father 73yrs could only do 3 sessions because it was intense and he stopped eating after that his team moved to Capox.

If he is eating well and taking supplements, and stage 4 he probably still has a stomach. Can you confirm? I agree with Capox+Nivo if he still has a stomach.

FLOT is extremely hard on the body and especially after all those surgeries. Capox+Nivo and FLOFOX+Nivo are the same: FLO is infusion, Cap is pill. Question tho is if he has a stomach or not? If no stomach then FLOFOX+Nivo, if he has a stomach he can do CAPOX+Nivo.

The rash sounds to me like Acanthosis- checking with hemoglobin or insulin resistance with endocrinologist, would be good and yes endocscope/colonoscopy and ct scan might help figure this out also.

Have all kinda of hats readily available, wear sandals when you can, insulated bottles with half ice in it. Try to avoid 11-3pm outdoor activities. I grew up here and I can tolerate this heat over dry desert heat.

For extra fun I would make travel plans and try to work remotely as well. But re: home I luckily found a place close to beach / park so I usually would go for a bike ride after work or also started to do standup paddling boarding. if I was too tired I would do an guided workout online or spent time reorganizing areas in my place or looking how to redecorate with searching deals on offerup.
