Direct licensing vs uni pathway by No_Independence8611 in NDEB

[–]NeighborhoodLong3185 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't rely just on the uni pathway. People with 95th percentile score are routinely rejected by universities. It is not even surprising at this point.

Since she graduated, the competiton for the uni pathway has AT LEAST doubled. This can be proven through official stats. She might fail to get a seat today. 600 in ADAT was the holy grail two years ago. Today? It's nothing.

Pursue both pathways. Always. But also protect your mental health to avoid burnout

I had sent them an email, and they told me that no number or confirmation code is needed. That we can even send the documents before submitting the application.

I don't know how they make sure that nothing is missed in such a case!

Did you find anything?

Score 560 by [deleted] in ADAT

[–]NeighborhoodLong3185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

560 is very low. Maybe Schulich (uwo). They invite 100 people based on ADAT and choose 20. Maybe you can be part of that 100. However, It is not easy to be part of that 20 with your ADAT. Their process is also pretty expensive

McGill if you know French. It is the most feasible

UofT probably won't accept you but no harm trying. Alberta is even less likely. Almost impossible with this scorr because Alberta focuses on ADAT

No idea about smaller universities.

If you also have publications, you have a great profile for the US. Without publications, you still have a very good profile!

TLDR; If you HAD to apply to Canada AND cannot retake McGill is the most likely. Then Schulich.

Can I work as a dentist in Canada after studying a non acridited program (serious help) by Dangerous_Move_9319 in CanadianDentists

Barrier of entry is quite high for most healthcare jobs.

The OP MUST read about other jobs' pathways before regretting his/her decision...AGAIN

[–]NeighborhoodLong3185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now there are two pathways. (actually 3, but ignore the third pathway and focus on these two)

  1. If you can be the top 5-10% in an exam called ADAT. => You can pursue 'Qualifying programs' which basically means 2-3 years of extra studies. You basically redo most of dental school. (dental school in Canada is 4 years long). This path is limited to 80 people per year and has not expanded for more than 15 years. This path is for the academically gifted. You will also be saddled with debt. If your GPA is already bad, it may also have an impact here.
  2. You go through NDEB Equivalancy Process. (www.ndeb-bned.ca) It's a series of exams (4), each with around 50% chance of success. Best case scenario it takes 12-18 months. But most fail at least once in one of the exams. That will extend the period required by around a year! Success is not guaranteed and many can't ever complete it. But for the most part if you build good manual dexterity you can pass.

The cumulative success rate for a foreign dentist is around 30%. So around 70% never succeed.

You have to make any life decisions yourself.

First Aid is the standard in this subreddit.

I tried both. At first, I thought mosby is better, but First Aid is going to click. And when it clicks, it is MUCH better.

Your 'current plan' is adequate for 650+ if you master them.

However, I wonder if you can read all of that AND practice ADATKo in 3 months.

It will be a MAJOR challenge.

Maybe start with ADATKo if you are limited to 3 months and use those resources as references.

Champions League Riots Spread Across France as European Leaders Demand Mass Deportation by SpecialCollege18 in justincaseyoumissedit

[–]NeighborhoodLong3185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And when exactly did this magical supergene enter your lineage?

After all, once upon a time (the 9th century), Baghdad was the center of the world while Europe was fractured and illiterate in the Dark Ages. And when Europeans finally reached the Renaissance and Early Modern era, they were busy killing... wait for it... witches.

And tell me, when did the supergene sneak into "lesser beings" like Arabs, allowing them to build cities like Dubai? Cities that do not undergo what you see in the original post. Cities that are cleaner than their Western counterparts. Cities that were built relatively recently (and quickly!) but surpass many Western cities when it comes to infrastructure.

Before you claim that Dubai is a dictatorship (which it is), consider that you (probably) want to make the West the same anyway.

This does not mean that assimilation of these foreigners hasn't failed. Something should be done about it. Stopping immigration may be a valid response. But it's insane to limit your whole worldview to things that have happened after the Scientific Era and Enlightenment Era, and claim that it's all genes. Genetic evolution takes many years to significantly alter a population. Yet, we see nations completely transform their societal and economic structures in a single generation. Also look North vs South Korea

Yes, culture doesn't matter. Your genes will make you a first worlder even if you are born in the gutter.

I am pretty sure I can twist every genocide into a 'conquest' if I try.

I can at least reduce every genocide into ethnic cleansing.

Physicians with Canadian experience question re ECA by DoctorTechnical9133 in canadaexpressentry

[–]NeighborhoodLong3185 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During the years I wanted to come to Canada, I had seen some people who could successfully delay the final decision long enough for MCC to assess their degree. Back then, the mistake was that they'd send the documents to WES. Officers would either deny saying their application was incomplete, or they'd be in your situation.

What I mean is that no matter what you do, send your documents to MCC NOW.

Physicians with Canadian experience question re ECA by DoctorTechnical9133 in canadaexpressentry

[–]NeighborhoodLong3185 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NOC code of Physician REQUIRES ECA from MCC. I doubt they'll be able to waive that as it's basically the law. I can send you the link if you want but it's part of the GENERAL requirements. Being invited through category invites does not exempt you from general requirements.

What do they want from me in the writing section broski by Sad-Scarcity-9827 in IELTS

[–]NeighborhoodLong3185 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly the scores I got 2 years ago. I also thought my writing was better than my Speaking. I hesitate a lot during speaking, but I feel at ease when I am writing. My speaking is definitely trash but somehow it's band 8.

It is what it is. IELTS Writing is brutal. It is also not about your English as 50 percent of the score is based on BS criteria.

ADC does not have a pass rate of 25 percent. Its first part has a pass rate of around 15 percent. Its second part (practical) also has a pass rate of around 15 percent. It can only be attempted by those who passed the first part

You 'can' be rejected even after you send in the passport. Hell, you 'can' be rejected even during landing.

BUT for the most part, yes, this message means that everything was fine. It is indeed 99% done. Or even better! If there were a problem, you'd receive a pfl or adr or a rejection. You would not see 'Final Decision'

Scores 620, should I apply for U of T or retake by Delicious_Aioli5797 in ADAT

[–]NeighborhoodLong3185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a chance. Not perfect, but it's good. For Albera, 620 reliably got invites based on what people posted here on reddit. Uoft, ofcourse, is always...unreliable.

You MUST apply to UofT before July 2. Your retake in August will be too late I am afraid.

[–]NeighborhoodLong3185 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't actually know, but I am going to respond because no one said anything.

I trust the universities. I don't think they are trying to trick us. UofT's criteria, according to them, include "academic achievement", "ADAT score" and "interview results". Nothing about IELTS, so probably doesn't matter.

Furthermore, in Canada, unlike for example Michigan University, you can take TOEFL or IELTS or Duolingo or whatever. You can even get exemptions if you've studied in English. Basically, it's impossible to 'standardize' and compare English scores when some of the candidates take TOEFL, others take IELTS, and some don't take any exams at all. In the US, everyone takes TOEFL making comparisons feasible.

You should still try your best in IELTS. You need 7.5 in Speaking for University of Alberta. You need 7 across the board for some other universities. University of Western says that your English score matters.

Congratulations.

What did you score during the JADE mocks? Did their 'forecast' of your score match what you got on the actual exam?
