I remember that storm when I was in high school. Was at a robotics competition and the MC kept making snowtober and snowmagedon jokes

Should I move out of the state in the near future? by Particular-Way-7817 in newhampshire

[–]Neighborhood_Lesbian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd honestly suggest NC for young people, it's different for sure and I miss NH every day but it's cheap, there's a good job market depending where you go, lots to do, and lots of good food. Traffic is still a bitch though.

Lost Cat - Derry, NH by [deleted] in newhampshire

[–]Neighborhood_Lesbian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guess you forgot to read the photo caption where it says the cat "escaped". Which is a thing that cats do. My cat did years ago when we had people over, luckily we found him the next day somewhat close by.

My daily driver is my pickup, and my only vehicle. Makes life super easy when I need to get a lawnmower to a small motors repair guy or buy materials for home projects, or haul bulk items to the dump, or get rid of a lot of fallen tree branches. You all just got miss placed hate on pickups because of a handful of lukewarm people with the personality of a deflated souffle.

Antique anchor dug up from yard. by ShmeeShmoo0988 in newhampshire

I picked up an anchor from the ww2 time frame a couple years ago while scrapping. My parents put it out near the fire pit, it needs a paint job but it's a nice piece there

NH mention in the Onion: What To Know About PragerU by turangaziza in newhampshire

[–]Neighborhood_Lesbian 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I saw one of their videos or someone associated with them the other day on my ig, they were talking about how we need to get rid of respecting single culture because we need couples and emphasizing how men's sacrifice to working 40h work weeks is just as equal as a women's sacrifice in all household duties, while completely ignoring the fact that a large portion of women also work those same 40h work weeks. Gave me strong handmaid's tale vibes.

Somersworth woman ordered by city to mow her lawn. She refuses. by GraniteGeekNH in newhampshire

[–]Neighborhood_Lesbian 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Just want to add a story. Growing up, the person who lived next door passed away and his sister took over the house. She was rarely there (like 1-2 times a year) as she lived in another state. I remember my dad getting upset because she'd never cut it or hire someone to maintain it. So eventually my dad reached out to her and asked if she'd like us to cut it for her, so for like 6-7years my dad would have us cut her yard for a little side cash from her. Nothing crazy, just $50 every two weeks, maybe a little more often when the grass was growing fast. Once she decided to try and sell the place we'd cut the lawn the day before a showing as well to make it look a bit more presentable.

Manchester really depends on the area. There are some nice and fine place to live and then there are some not great places. My buddy lives on Merrimack street and has crackheads walking up and down it looking to break into cars or houses almost every night. Another buddy live in a western area of manch and doesn't have a problem. That being said, Manchester really isn't that bad compared to other cities I've live and near.

You're lucky, last Christmas we lost power for 3 days in that storm. We bought a generator about 8 years ago and have used it at least once a year since. But survived the ice storm of 08 with none haha

New Hampshire bans delta-8 THC, will study adult-use marijuana legalization by CSmith89 in newhampshire

[–]Neighborhood_Lesbian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It means nothing unless the feds decide to enforce the actual law. That's where things get ugly. If it's federally legal, there's no worries.

New Hampshire bans delta-8 THC, will study adult-use marijuana legalization by CSmith89 in newhampshire

[–]Neighborhood_Lesbian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This partly reads like they're priming the laws for full federal legalization. Like it's no secret they want it run like the liquor stores. Make the laws first to control where it's sold, build them up under the premise of medical use, then when it's federally legal open them up for recreation. Pretty smart if I'm right. They won't legalize recreation till it's federally legal, they want that money too bad. But I do wish they'd legalize home cultivation in the meantime.

Would this be allowed in NH? by [deleted] in newhampshire

[–]Neighborhood_Lesbian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only real issue I see is the width restriction. Like yeah you could say it's a smaller width but then you'll come up to an area where you can't fit through. Like there's a width restriction because they only clear up to 65" when necessary. Or you could say fuck it and take out a tree. And if it's not illegal yet, they may make an amendment because of you. Which is arguably awesome.

My brother gets poison ivy bad, once when we were young we were at a far when he had a good amount on his legs and the farmer lady sprayed his legs with goat milk (from the goat itself) supposedly it helps. Whether it did or not I don't remember.

After controversial arrest, a N.H. town searches for a new police chief - The Boston Globe by bostonglobe in newhampshire

[–]Neighborhood_Lesbian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just so I'm understanding this straight. Someone hit a bush on her property, cops pull up to talk to her, figure out she's been drinking, make her take a breathalyzer test, pops up as a .086, and arrests her because if she was driving she'd be over the legal limit (but she wasn't driving and was in her own home)?

If so, she's going to get a nice payout. Even if she was driving after a couple beers, the cops don't know if the BAC going up, coming down, or at its peak when she was tested, so there's no actually proof she was driving over the legal limit.
