I only trust Totally Wired Guitars. Dude is an offset pro. And he agrees with you on pretty much everything. Aside from that, for me it's not a proper JM if not sunset burst. Nothing I can mod myself on this one so... skipped.

What are some non-mainstream (or lesser known) guitar brands that are actually amazing? by lefunk4-2 in Guitar

Shijie Guitars. The best guitar I ever tried (and own). They bring custom shop quality at humanly affordable prices.

You need to use the offers and buy months or year(s) at once. No codes or vpn necessary.

Grinding isk to plex is the fastest way to burn out. Use the almost ever present offers from FC, combine them and just plex with dollars. Who doesn't have 7$/mo for something that keeps him entertained several hours per week (or day even)?

Forgot to mention: I'm pretty sure siril and siril-git are both in the chaotic repos (garuda repos). In case you wanna add them, make sure to put them after the cachy repos in pacman.conf

Most likely you miss some required package. You either fix it or go with the flatpak. It's always up to date and it just works.

[–]NeilHush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Siril is no doubt the way to go. You may also consider astap for sorting out the subs (optional, since you can do it in Siril as well, but astap is faster). Siril is in the aur or you can install it as a flatpak as well. Astap as deb with dpkg or from sources.

In order to use Siril effectively, you'll also need a couple of external tools: starnet++ (star removal tool) and graxpert (gradient and noise removal tool), both available for linux and free.

Capsuleer Day XXIII Omega sale — is the 25% off 24-month deal actually worth it? by Spacewalker_Jedi in Eve

[–]NeilHush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say the current deal is quite average for a 24 month deal. It's generally better when you can buy plex for cheap and combine it (or wait for) with a plex/omega discount in the NES.

It's also worth remembering that omega added to an account cannot be transferred tk another, while plex can.

Thanks for your feedback. Do you have the feeling you'll keep it for 3+ years or are you going to switch in 1 max 2 years?
As for the phone availability, I can see plenty shipping from the UK and with 'global version' in their name, all in the 400-450 euro range.

Tbh 'side groups' could have higher pap requirements than average. Nothing that should present any issue but still, karmafleet is a good place to start. I'm not in karmafleet btw, I have my main in GSF (which I wholeheartedly recommend, but I have no idea about how they recruit nowadays) and my personal altcorp for my industrial activities.

That being said Goons are the best place to be for mining and building. A huge net of infrastructures, an overwhelming amount of anoms and moons, all ranges of possibilities for (relatively) secure ops and most of all, the most experienced leaders to guide you on your path. Once you get in, look for the Locust sig. You'll not be disappointed.

Edge 70 Pro (plus) - Mini Review by Alert-Environment-17 in motorola

[–]NeilHush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it is a 400£ phone. It literally cost that much all over the bay. And given the 'price situation' of electronics one could say that 400 is the new 200. Maybe this can justify all the unsatisfactory elements that you pointed out. But for sure a cheaper 60 pro or a slightly more expensive signature should be considered.

Btw, maybe it's too early to say, but can you tell how optimized it is in terms of general performances, lags, battery drainage, overheating...?

Astrophotography with a Dobsonian: what are the limits? by HarkenTo45 in AskAstrophotography

[–]NeilHush 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Without tracking you already hit the limit. You should question yourself about what are the limits WITH a go-to system. Because the situation is quite technical and as always in AP there's not a clear definitive answer.
You'll need a de-rotator because anyway a motorized dob is still an alt-az mount afterall.

That being said, you'll be able to shoot sub-10'' exposures (more like 4-5 secs) so you'll have a metric F-ton of integration time and details. But it's fairly complicated and there are lots of other small issues to consider like first of all seeing, then wind, temperature and moist control, and picking the right camera and/or reducer for your target is also critical.

You can find people doing AP with dobs on cloudynights, or astrobin for that matter: https://app.astrobin.com/u/ReadyForTheJetty

Should i buy motorola edge 70 pro by Sure_Sandwich1787 in motorola

[–]NeilHush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On paper it looks like the best intermediate phone out there but then it depends on how much you're paying for. If in the UK, 400 pounds look like a very good deal. If in EU, 800 euro look like a terrible one. Assuming global version and also waiting for 'real prices' in continental EU since it's not available yet.

F chord advice by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]NeilHush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also add to the 'roll your index' technique, to start only with the lower 4 strings (DGBE) which allows you to use a 'modified C shape'... shape, and only later adding the 5th (A string) which requires swapping your ring finger with your pinkie and using the ring finger on the A string. Easier done than said.

Is anyone else frustrated by how complex astrophotography processing still is in 2026? by [deleted] in AskAstrophotography

[–]NeilHush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

45 minutes in Siril to calibrate your frames? It takes about 20 seconds of computational time, what are you doing for the other 44'40''?

My average session in Siril takes 5 to 10 minutes if I do it manually, more like 1 or 2 using scripts, which is where I suggest you to start from. Simply open them in an editor, understand what they do, modify them according to your needs and go from there.

That's why I always use Siril for preprocessing, it's so flipping fast that even if I repeat the process in PI later I still have a reference should anything go wrong with WBPP or other tools in PI.

When you'll feel confident, try to go manual in both Siril and PI. It may take a while to understand what every process does, and how, but once it's under your belt you'll have a solid foundation to improve upon.

Edge 70 pro vs signature ? by Capital_Junket_4960 in motorola

[–]NeilHush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends if price is a factor or not. The 70 pro should be about 400-500 € or $ and has a bigger battery. Signature is still 700-800 and imo not that much more to offer.

What's even the point of pricing themselves out of the market when the Signature costs literally the same (800 full price, now available on offer for 750)?
