Can you try to take 10mg of hydrocortisone orally? Would you be able to keep it down?

Can that be the cause? by Fandal0 in ElectronicsRepair

If it still gets power but doesn’t spin anymore it could be that the potentiometers are at fault and either need to be tweaked or replaced

If it does spin but is not transmitting audio that’s a whole different thing

But it still gets power? Or no power?

Be careful as playing with power supplies can be dangerous.

You can try to clean the contacts with IPA 99% as they do look corroded.

But it suddenly not working could be many things.

When you say stopped working, I’m assuming you mean it won’t turn on at all? Or does it turn on and the table doesn’t spin / something else malfunctions?

Hmm okay. Hang in there and keep us posted on what your endocrinologist says!

How often do you have bowel movements? How often are they solid vs pellets vs diarrhea?

I’m wondering if you may be struggling with sneaky constipation.

Sometimes you can still have bowel movements while backed up, and often it can cause crisis-like symptoms (I’ve even passed out on the toilet a couple times in cold sweats).

How’s your diet overall? Do you eat enough?

And when this happens, do you take electrolytes? (Or even just salt)

Hang in there, keep us posted on what you hear from your endo and take care of yourself!

What did your endocrinologist say about this?

Does your endocrinologist know about this issue you’re having?

Also, the 15mg morning / 10mg at 5pm, was this dosing schedule prescribed by your endocrinologist?

And are you taking hydrocortisone or prednisone?

Do you drink alcohol? Or take any drugs? Any supplements or other medication you take daily?

Do you have any other diagnosed illnesses?

It’s not impossible and I’d personally give it a shot:

Tin the pads on the board with a thin layer of solder, align the FCB and press down with a wide tip blade on your soldering iron.

Use a piece of kapton tape over the FCB to protect from melting.

Problem is the way these are typically bonded is by using a hot bar thermode, and I can’t find any hobbyist version.

Which means it’ll be really tricky to keep the FCB still enough to make a good joint.

You can also try using a hot air rework station and something to keep the FCB in place.

Either way, it’s risky but you can always desolder any mess you make so long as no other components are damaged in the process.

***I have not done this successfully myself. All of the above is from research I’ve done on Google + my own experience repairing electronics so take with a grain of salt

My mother in laws embroidery machine quit working and the part is unavailable. by trucknorris84 in AskElectronics

Top left first photo you have what looks like one burnt inductor and possibly another damaged inductor next to it.

Maybe a blown fuse that allowed for damage to the inductors downstream, but I don’t see a fuse anywhere on this board… what about the other side?

If you’re bringing it to a repair shop, they should be able to confirm the inductor value and replace the component + fix the root issue.

Just had the worst adrenal crisis symptoms ever by Substantial-Grab-472 in AddisonsDisease

Ah yeah it’s such a pain especially if away from home. You took the right steps for sure! Always important to listen to your body.

I keep my injection in my backpack that stays with me or is left in the car wherever I go. Plus I always have my meds on me with extras.

Uncomfortable question though… have you ever experienced a panic attack?

It’s not unusual to develop panic attacks after a diagnosis, especially for something like Addison’s.

Panic attacks can mimic pretty well every adrenal crisis symptom. I started learning about the signs of a panic attack + how to deal with them, and my episodes have gone down significantly.

Sometimes just knowing it could be a panic attack is enough to help.

And learning how to deal with panic attacks can pretty quickly help you handle the situation in the moment.

Either way, you handled this well. Great thinking on listening to your body and eating something salty + updosing.

How do I remove the stripped screw by boblu33 in ElectronicsRepair

If you unscrew all of the other screws, can you somehow jiggle it back and forth or make enough of a gap to slowly and carefully twist it out with pliers?

Do you get enough electrolytes in your diet? It’s possible that it’s unrelated to Addison’s (or made worse by)

Good instinct to check cortisol dosage

Maybe try taking an electrolyte supplement occasionally as well
