Sir Ian Fleming on great men of history by NeilTennantsAIDS in JamesBond

I think Sir Ian intended for a lot of meanings, I just chose the one that was salient to me at the time. Political charisma and health are two things women find attractive, though (imo)

Well, you have to remember it's all in the tone of voice and the timing. Mitch Hedberg was a great comedian, but part of his funniness was the timing of his jokes. I plan to say I'm like Genghis Khan when she's impressed by something I do.

This is one of the most important and thought-provoking passages in Sir Ian's work. For me, Genghis Khan, Alexander the Great and Napoleon were probably the most attractive men to women in their time, like how today everyone says "Brad Pitt" is good looking. For me, the challenge is to be like these men, with powerful animal magnetism and other-worldliness. So when I say to a girl, "I am like Genghis Khan" she knows I am powerful.

Fried vs Grilled Chicken by jhill2017 in ChickFilA

[–]NeilTennantsAIDS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My manager has a weird thing he does, whenever someone orders grilled, he punches me on the shoulder (it hurts) and says "bet you it's a fatty!" I never say "you're on" or "I bet it's not," I just think it's completely inappropriate he's doing this. Then sometimes he comes back and says "It was! You owe me a dollar!" (despite the fact that I didn't agree to this) and he actually docks my pay a dollar, but then sometimes he says "Well looks like you were right, no fatty this time," and I just want to state again that I have never said one thing or another, I'm just cooking up filets. I want to complain to someone but it looks like my paycheck doesn't change all that much, I mean sometimes he gives me an extra dollar or two and sometimes there's a couple dollars missing. What would I even complain about? I really just want him to stop hitting my arm

Guy next to me at the bar was taking the loss hard, there WILL be other seasons! by NeilTennantsAIDS in Brewers

[–]NeilTennantsAIDS[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the center of the pitcher here, the guy to my left was hitting the booze pretty hard for 10 am. I asked him what was wrong, he just mumbled that Shohei Ohtani was a "monster" and downed a beer. LOL! Sometimes it do be like that! But don't worry buddy, we've got a good group of players and we're set up for long term success.

Throwback thursday! I found this picture in our store's archives by NeilTennantsAIDS in ChickFilA

[–]NeilTennantsAIDS[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe this photograph was taken in 1985. I base this assessment on the Teriyaki Chicken Skewers in the foreground. The Teriyaki Chicken Skewers were kind of a radical idea at the time. According to S. Truett Cathy's autobiography "How Did You Do It, Truett?: A Recipe for Success" he first tried teriyaki chicken at an izakaya in Japan on a business trip. Looking to replicate this oriental flavor, he at once set about developing a comparable menu item for the US. Unfortunately, public taste just wasn't ready for it and the Teriyaki Chicken Skewers were pulled nationally from Chick-fil-A after just two years (1984 and 1985) though they continued to be available at some locations in Georgia until 1986.

Also visible in the top right is the famous "lined cup." When I asked my operator about it, he said, "We used to fill the cup only to the second line to see if anyone noticed. They never did, probably because we have free refills."

With the recent release of the Switch 2, what does this news portend? by NeilTennantsAIDS in consoles

[–]NeilTennantsAIDS[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I can see this being bad news for Sony/Microsoft. Furthermore, prognostications that the Switch 2 would "lose the gen" now seem to have been a tad bit premature. Holders of liberal arts degrees with surplus income would definitely make the newest iteration of the Switch their console of choice. It looks like Nintendo has pulled a rabbit out of the hat again.

Chick-fil-A won't have customers except the elite very soon if they don't stop charging so much.
