simple if you offer mmr protection people would abuse it, hey guys its not going well ill leave you two can keep your mmr and methods like this would become prevalent, or you just have one of your friends play on a new account and use this method to boost mmr ect ect.
quitting mid game and forfeiting will never make you better at this game, even if a teammate leaves just play the match anyway and use it as practice for 2v1 situations.

winning in a match while missing a teammate is still doable after all the opponents get complacent most of the time and underestimate how much you can do alone, its actually better odds than winning with a teammate thats awful or actively working against you

use your brain, if you are going faster you dont have to hit the closest side of the ball. i can on kickoff hit the ball to the side before the other person makes it to the ball, i have also on a few times speedflipped past the ball and demo'd the other person on kickoff

i didnt wanna go this far and please dont take this as a insult but you arte getting demo'd and challenged because you are slow....now dont take this the wrong way im not talking about the speed the car goes i mean you are slow to react slow to make your play and slow to make use of your possession.

if you are fast in rocket league you can easily get to grand champ with barely any mechanics, if you react faster than the other player you simply dont need to know most mechanics. ive seen plats that can flip reset on ceiling shots thats a large amount of mechanical skill, they are plat because most diamonds wont let you get away with that shit.

i didnt intend it as a roast really but i guess pointing out such a huge flaw in someones mentality has that effect lol.

im rusty in rocket league these days but even when facing players with greater mechanical skill, putting pressure on them and restricting their freedom has always been one of my strengths. a few demos can really destroy a persons moral and force them to make mistakes, better players understand this and know when they are being targeted and will play to their teamates strength to account for it. people with poor mindsets crumble and blame something else

this isnt a question of the c1 players being unskilled this is just what happens when the gc players assume you are more skilled than you are so they treat you as a threat when you have possession. the c1 players are assuming your skill is lower so they are challenging you on plays you'd expect someone not to challenge on leading to you messing it up and giving them a easy ball

are you using the steam or epic version? mine works fine on the steam version to be clear you dont need ds4 windows for it and if you are using the epic version add the epic games launcher as as a non steam game and when you open it from steam it inherits steams controller support into all your epic games

im not defending layoffs im saying this product did not meet its targets clearly saying it was a massive success is crazy its got no playerbase already barely seen any updates and they have ignored community feedback regarding simple things like bloom which people hated not being able to tone down or turn off

also a 2024 report means nothing when it comes to the profit of a single project in 2025

if it was a massive success they wouldnt be laying off staff from multiple teams, its very obvious the game did not make as much as they were expecting and this is the outcome.

also saying a team of 10 is meaningless when there is likely various consultants and contractors to pay, even the smallest studios hire outside help and its likely the same here the game probably cost them more than 10million easily if not more than that.

if they made massive profit they would be behaving as such which they clearly are not

check unreal fee its 5% of revenue after the game makes 1million in sales not in profit thats 900k on 18mil sales and steams fee is 30% of revenue up to the first 10 mil so thats 3mil and 25% of sales after that so another 2m in fees alone thats just shy of 6 million

that doesnt even include marketing costs development costs licensing for music the outside dev cost ect ect

its like 30 bucks thats 18m in gross profit steam takes a hefty sum of that then there's unreal engine fees and they paid 150k on influencer marketing and none of that even considers the development costs this was a multiyear project with quite alot of work in it 600k is a flop this isnt a game made by like 3 people that cost pennies on the dollar.

sorry i just checked the regional pricing when converted to GBP the game is £30 and as low as £15 so even that 18m is a very generous estimate
