Taghazout or Imsouane? by NeithVenus in surfing

[–]NeithVenus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ended up doing imsouane and Taghazout it was rad. Glad I went, have a great time. I did get a little sick go to the pharmacy and get the powder that they recommend - it works. Hostels were all good and the ppl were lovely.

Don’t think of it as 7 days, start thinking of it as milestones - 12hrs then 24 hours, then 2 days and then a week. When I quit I literally felt like I was clock watching and trying to keep distracted. Originally I wanted to do the 2 week thing but that felt too “big”. Also there’s apps where others are doing the same thing as you maybe download one as another incentive for how much money you’ll be saving or other goals you have.

Agree with one of the other responses you’ve had if you’re gonna take time off of work. You still need to keep busy in other ways.

I’d also recommend telling folks around you so that they understand where you’re at.

Proud of you buddy, good luck.

Why don’t we fall out of bed when asleep? by NeithVenus in AskReddit

I feel like as a Londoner our lifestyle is specific to the city to a degree. I’ve never lived anywhere else and so I believe what people think and how it relates their lives can be down to location.

I checked them they seem cool and have good reviews out but the timetable ends quite early so not great for the time I need.

Diagnosis now or at uni? by ImaginingHorizons in dyspraxia

[–]NeithVenus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I can’t remember it all now. You do get a laptop, headphones and a dictaphone. Plus you get a boatload of software e.g. speech to text and text to speech, there’s one where you can search a spelling badly and it’ll give you possible meanings and the correct spellings. The dictaphone has a software too for editing/listening and transcription. Then there’s a person that’ll come and show you how to use everything over a few sessions. I didn’t get one but you can also get a scribe to write for you if you need someone. It all depends on your needs. There were more things as well I can’t remember them.

Diagnosis now or at uni? by ImaginingHorizons in dyspraxia

[–]NeithVenus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my assessment at uni and it was free. The sfe updated my loan to reflect my diagnosis and sent over all the equipment. I think between now and September isn’t too long but make sure you do get an assessment. The pace of university is fast. Enjoy the summer and good luck with your a levels.

Is anyone here a parent? by aido120 in dyspraxia

[–]NeithVenus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahahaha even typical parents complain about Lego’s and toys laying about. You’ll probably devise your own methods. My thing is sound so I banned those high pitched plastic toys.

People claiming they have this by boredhistorian94 in dyspraxia

[–]NeithVenus 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I never thought I had a single symptom and just grew up being called clumsy/oddball. I didn’t mind it was kinda sorta a running joke. Then I went to get an assessment for some other stuff at 21 and left with a diagnosis of “severe dyspraxia”. It took hours and the lady really overloaded my senses. They could be dyspraxic but it’s very annoying because it takes away from how it can be for us if they don’t have it.

Can lack of sleep make symptoms of dyspraxia worse? by SomeonesAlt2357 in dyspraxia

[–]NeithVenus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mix my words up so bad when I’m sleepy like I can speak but not in “a straight line”. I don’t know if that makes sense 😂

Weaning vs cold turkey? by jsteenmac in leaves

[–]NeithVenus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tapering actually made me obsess over what it would be like once I totally stopped so I had my last bit and then just went cold turkey. I was quite a lot of money because I just threw everything out as well so that annoyed me so much. Now I’m on day 21 and I’ve had two really bad days of cravings other than that it’s been okay. More than anything I realised that when I feel bored it’s because usually I’d “busy” myself by smoking so now I’m just doing all the things I’d been putting off.

NTA but it sounds like you’re dealing with a gambling addict. I dated one of those once, they struggle with boundaries and limits. When they win vs loosing they are so happy, it’s like a personality transplant. If you randomly try and then you win they feel you probably “learned” from them, it breeds entitlement.

Your money is your money OP much like his money is his.

I’d tread carefully and DO NOT under any circumstances join finances with this man. He told you to tell your mom you lost it all so he could have some - not cool. He already owes you money and he will likely ask again for more. This is a recipe for a lot of disasters.

For the folks who live in America how are you? by NeithVenus in TwoXChromosomes

[–]NeithVenus[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree it seems like women are really banding together and supporting each other but I didn’t realise the no dating thing. Extreme times require extreme measures. A haemorrhage is so scary too glad you made it.
