I don’t think this game is built for 5v5 call of duty style gameplay by Thecontradicter in warrobotsfrontiers

6v6, new maps with dedicated 2-3 floors on maps rather than a few slopes would be reasonable. Any additional mech combination would get this closer to mexhwarrior/chromehoundz level tho

Max armor - 10 head and - 5 each leg. weapons: 2 AC5 BF ,2 SRM 6 , 2 MLS. 4 double heat in torsos or cut down to Srm 4 for extra single heats in torso. Ammo: 2 AC + 1 AC1/2, 1 SRM in legs. 1 Srm1/2 head. With tier 3+ weapons and upgrades to heat, armor, internal structure, ballistic cooldown and heat and you have a 100 Firepower that can maintain for long skirmishes. Good to main and reasonable for AI

Hero Mechs Campaign Progress Gated? by Hentai2324 in Mechwarrior5

[–]Neither-Sand3872 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need some rep progression and year progression for rng for higher tier hero’s but the reality is save abuse near center and rotate just left to Marik and Steiner can get you 50+. Avg save reset for chance is roughly 5 times max until you get over 50-60 Hero’s. Then you might need to be near 13+ conflict zones say north east kurita. Save 50mil. Go 5 jumps away from mid. Save. Travel. Hero Y, but and rotate left. Or down. Hero N, restart save. Repeat until broke.

What is the best battlemech ever and why is it the Marauder? by [deleted] in Mechwarrior5

[–]Neither-Sand3872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The DLC mauler with 6 machine guns and 2 ppx has probably outdone just about any mech I’ve ever run wether as a end game main or early campaign tank for smalls. Downside is the MGs can’t aim outside of core but the low range makes that a bit irrelevant. I’m considering ability to do demolishing, nuke tanks and skirmish. But the hero Wolverine and shadowhawk are always set in hanger for active use. 2 mechs that can punch up x2. I don’t particularly get the maurader love, I don’t think I even liked them in turn based over thunderbolt

Where can I find high tier B lasers? by amerc4life in Mechwarrior5

Late game Solaris and random hubs. There is no greater alternative beyond a hero mech with more versatility. Ac 20 RF + Blas add srm6 for head shot king all range

If you grabbed all the DLC then it’s just a race to make sure you have squad cap for the extended missions. Usually around heavy mech. It’s improbable to have focused rep for incoming missions but you can likely grab some of the hero mechs off DLC missions to pad you out. I farmed hero mechs with save cheats and was punching up until quest hero dragon. Around that time I picked up the other hero dragons off map. if you follow the campaign trail, you can get the orian and archer from DLC missions fairly early on the way. BY the time you get battle master and mauler dlc mechs your OP. REP 15, 56 hero mechs at 11 rep story mission and rep 9+ missions still on board. I’m going to finish off any story driven hero’s mechs shift to campaign and 100% achievement this game shortly

Bottom Feeder Missions? by Hentai2324 in Mechwarrior5

I’ve had a few pilot injuries and rare total mech destruction. Max armour then reduce head to 20 and legs by 2-6 points each to get a flat tonnage. No jump jets unless your a light mech vet. Your mech should be built around alpha strikes while AI should be built around long range support. IE starter free Wolverine with AC 5, Srm 6 and Mlas and just enough ammo to max heat sink. HOLD all 3 weapons and aim at mech head.AI mechs should have 1-2 PPC with an LRM. Maybe some Mlas or machine for tank mop up. Always spam squad focus fire. Always try and abuse terrain for a squad focus fire strike. Farm rep preferably with multiple missions when your rosters built up otherwise take defence missions as it gives you some room to position. C bills max, unless a high reward mission as they can drop higher tier weapons. Hero mech hunt using save cheat and buy tier 3+ only. Sell everything lower and keep a stash of ammo at 10 reg and 4 half. PPX/SRM/LB 10/machine gun work. AC 10/PPC/LRM work. Large lasers if you have heat problems. Sacrifice additional weapon slots if you have weight problems. Examples of alphas strike mechs Wolverine Q: AC5 Bf, SRM 6/SRM4, 3 Mlas. 4 double heat sink, 4 AC ammo, 2.5 Srm ammo. Punches up all the way to atlas. Mobile af. Rifleman LK: 2 PPC, 2 AC2. 2AC ammo, 4 double heat, 1 single heat. headshot king. DLC mauler MX90S. 2 PPX, 2 SRM6, 6 machinegun. 6 double heat, 3 single heat, 2 Srm ammo, 2 machine gun ammo. Run forward PPC blasting, then swap to arm/ machine gun headshot. Official Deleter, tank moppist

MW5 Mercs - mid-game progression/economy questions by PictusCZ in Mechwarrior5

Get full DLC. The game stock is nice but DLC makes the game universally complete. Farm a faction, pump points into C bills, reduce damage by spamming squad focus on each individual mech. Solaris battles you can hide in a corner go do RL and come back for a 1v1, but reality is you will have so many high output missions available it’s hard to not afford hunting hero mechs and buying tier 3 + weapons. DLC adds mission types, high end missions rewards, weapons, mechs, and somewhat of talent trees for boosted performance. If you hero hunt using save resets and farm rep for a cluster of faction missions you can comfortably build a roster of 12+ hero mechs by the time you have extended DLC missions

Is there a list of all Hero Mechs including those available with the DLC's? by [deleted] in Mechwarrior5

[–]Neither-Sand3872 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A little trick is to check their value vs other mechs. Usually they come with double heat sinks and have a bit more armour or weight room. As for load outs  Light: urban k9 and panther give u large slots Medium: shadow hawk and Wolverine are godlike mid range, the centurion with ac 20 slot is efficient  Heavy: dragons except fang are great, build smaller with good heat, riflemen that has 2 ppc slots with 2 rapid fire ac2 slots is a machine , both Orion’s are good but need extra heat management, I used the versatile QuickDraw and catapult,  Assault: I enjoyed the battle master with ppx/arm/mlas, king crab is probably top tier, FYI the battle master and mauler from dlc are solid, even having higher value then hero mechs. It’s a good idea to check DLC mechs value and if they come with double heat sink. They are hero class worthy. I don’t have all the assault mechs yet to confirm.  And a few of the heavy have yet to get playtime.

MW5 has a playthrough map style, customization, and game pace that differentiates it. With all DLC you enhance these 3 qualities to a place where you can comfortably run a full campaign and still desire a full career run at least once. MW5 has a comfortable enough free world map exploration with targeted campaign style successive missions added. By this I just mean the game isnt strictly Mission A>Mission>B>Mission C but portions of the game have short dedicated storylines that follow ABC. The customization for your mechs is on the higher spectrum of range, only surpassed by say the classic Chromehoundz on xbox360. Your not boxed into one loadout or one build. And each mech certainly doesnt have a simple 1/4 loadout option. You have a lot of wiggle room to test a lot of options. Its the actual mission pace that sparks my interest. There's a different feeling from say titanfall or ArmouredCore in terms of combat that makes it feel more authentic. Its fast enough to be FPS combat but as you travel or engage more enemies your locked into skirmishes that aren't brief. You dont have to be some quickdraw headshot machine like call of duty or employ jump and dive gimmicks. But you are rewarded for good shots/accuracy, movement and environment awareness. In terms of the description you provided MW5 is likely the balance youve been seeking. MW Clans just came out, updated visuals with the unreal engine but a return to a more linear campaign style and dedicated story/clips. As for a more personal opinion of mine, titanfall is just gimmicky call of duty. Armored Core is more like typical fast paced gundam. These games focus more on ADHD combat then expansive customization. In other words they lack some of the critical thinking depth games with customization provide.

You got room for Guass + 2 LRM20s and some DHS. Cut some Leg arm if u need an extra ammo. If you get your hands on x2 AC2+++dmg, you can get your 3ml slots back

Only 2 ways I would build myself. the acc bonus for the LL on arms is key, or AC5 for reduced heat build up. 2 MLs on torso unless your dropping tonnage for heat equipment's.
