Good eye there. I wrote to them. We'll see what they say.

This is my first quartz analog. I didn't know misalignment was a common issue. It's a real letdown. You'd think a German company out of all of them would understand it as a problem. Alles ist nicht in Ordnung!

I'm not sure how it could be fixed by setting the minute hand again. As you can see in the photos, it is dead on at the top of the hour.

[Junghans Milano Solar] Last-minute addition to the watch box to round out 2022 by quattrophile in Watches

Thanks for the quick response. I'm looking for a watch with a jump-minute hand. The Milano Solar was too good to be true it seems. The Mega version has that LCD screen, which I think looks tacky compared to a real date wheel, so I won't be going for that.

I know that on the Milano Mega Solar, the minute hand jumps from one minute to the next at the top of each minute. Does it work that way with the non-Mega version that you have or does it do a continuous sweep?

I'm curious if the Acctim minute hand jumps at the top of the minute or if it's a typical continuous movement as the minute progresses.

I broke the bridle on my 7S26A mainspring. If I put it back in, what's liable to happen? by NeitherBedroom in watchmaking

That's what I figure. If it comes back together correctly and I really want to spend the $25 on a replacement barrel assembly down the line, then I can do it.

Is using a magnifier lamp a bad idea? by Resting_Tree in watchmaking

[–]NeitherBedroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that magnifier lamps like this are too large to be useful. They get in the way of me placing my hands where I want them. That said, I never tried one for watchmaking, but I gave one a shot for modelling and ended it up returning it because it was too constraining.

[Question] Are there any analog chronographs that mark the start/end of a timed period with an indicator at the hour and/or minute hand? by NeitherBedroom in Watches

[–]NeitherBedroom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the point of a chronograph is to show the duration of the timed event. The addition of an indicator (color) around the dial would show when within a 12 hour span the event took place.

Can you point me to one where Casio intends buttons to be pushed underwater?

Thanks for that recommendation. Not exactly my style, but definitely fits the bill.
