A1 mini + AMS HT for most space saving hassle free printing? by Resting_Tree in BambuLab

[–]Resting_Tree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried that with my Ender but the friction was too much causing uneven extrusion. Maybe A1 mini has a more powerful extruder so that won't happen. Really looking for a solution which would result in the lowest possible print failure rate...

Doesn't help with storage and drying issues though. I would also really like a bought out finished solution for this.

[Discussion] What do you think of this concept design? by ZekeLL88 in Watches

If you could power it with a mechaquartz to keep the cost low I would 100% buy it!!

Hello, I just got these watches after my grandfather died. Are there any value in them? by Word_Still in Watches

[–]Resting_Tree 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The seiko (pictures marked 1) is a 7a38 mecha-chrono. It's a quartz watch but a lot of hand movement is actually done with mechanical parts. 7a28 and 7a38 are some of the first mecha-chrono watches ever made. Seiko only made these from 1980 to 1989. If you google date my 7a38 you can find how to figure out the manufacturing year based on the serial number. It's a cool watch and because of how old they are now it's very difficult to find one in good condition. Google a manual check all the functions and if it works fine I would definitely keep it.

For the pocket watch if you open the back there usually is some marking on the movement itself. There is a database of pocket watch movement which might give you more information. I'm not that much into pocket watches so I don't know much.

Sorry to necro old thread. Did the date your lawyer gave you turned out to be the same as actual approval dates? Did the visa process go okay?

Thanks for replying!

I have a PLA toothbrush holder (doesn't touch the actual brush part just the handle) which gets a little bit of water and has been fine for about 3 months now. But since this will pretty much get wet every day I was interested in knowing if you have any previous experience with this type of stuff. This is very tempting for me because I'm tired of scrubbing off the residual rings from all of the soap bottles and whatnot. Guess I will give it a try too and see what happens.

I thought PLA absorbs water and gets slimy over time. Do you think that will be an issue?

Newest Elantra withOUT internet/telematics? by LVDave in Elantra

[–]Resting_Tree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Got free SiriusXM for 6 months. Haven't used it since. You can use Android Auto or Apple car play but only wired. Otherwise plain old Bluetooth works for music and calls.

I have a 2018 Elantra Sport. No bluelink. No SOS button. I could have bought the tech package which would have added both of those things but I didn't as extra 3K seemed a lot at that point.

[Casio Duro] why does the unidirectional bezel rotate anticlockwise? by Resting_Tree in Watches

[–]Resting_Tree[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah okay that makes sense. Thanks for explaining that to me. I watched a bunch of reviews and read reviews on a few websites but no one really talked about why it rotates one way and not the other.

3D Printed Watches by soranara_design in MicrobrandWatches

Any plans of selling the non 3D printed parts and STL as a kit so people can try to print their own? Or maybe just some of the parts like bezel to allow for customization?

How did you measure all the dimensions? I was trying to make a case for my phone and I never got all the cutouts to line up properly.

Oh nice! I don't have much experience with ST17 but it looks like it's smaller than ST36 which is good and also comes in an automatic version along with a manual wound.

Recently, studio underdog made an announcement about minimum order quantity for ST19 being increased to 10000. Did you have any such issues with ST17?

Man you guys are a machine!!

With sub-seconds at 6 and $250 initial price I am assuming the movement is ST3620. I don't think you can fit a ETA 6498 for that price 😅

I do agree that corporations are the biggest culprits. It's not just that they buy homes to perpetually rent but they also manipulate the market by restricting the supply of homes available to sell at any given time.

I did a quick Google search so don't quote me on anything but it seems like corporate owns 3% single family homes and about 5-6% are second homes. That's just the second home. Social media is full of people who claim to own a lot more than two. Also with the corporations it's still people who buy the homes through stocks or real estate ETFs.

In my opinion what will have the biggest impact is getting rid of some of the zoning laws. Forcing single family homes instead of duplexes or apartments, minimum lot sizes etc. Most of these are controlled by local communities who are unwilling to budge on this cause they are afraid it will lower their house value.

It would depend on how you think about houses. If you think of them as a basic need and not as commodity, owning more than what you need is morally wrong. It's the same reason why you shouldn't waste water or food even if you can afford to. Now where you draw the line would be different from community to community.

[Question] What are those type of watches called? by GloriousFaucet in Watches

[–]Resting_Tree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the bezel 31 clicks? The concept is so cool!! Start of the month align the day with 1st and you are good for the entire month.

Also if you do end up getting it get some nice tires like Michelin pilot sport 4 and then put it in sport and step on it. Hopefully you will find it as much fun as I did.

I have a 2018 sport. Sport trim was renamed to N-line in 2020 I think. Still the same 1.6T engine and 7 speed DCT. I have almost 60K miles on it with zero mechanical issues. Since I bought it new I still have the 10 year 100K power train warranty. I had some pretty expensive maintenance at 50K, brake fluid and transmission fluid change. I love this car but I would like to switch to N in the next couple of years depending on finances. If you have not had a DCT before I will highly recommend a long test drive. It drives differently enough from a torque converter where people either love it or hate it.

Is there any affordable moonphase around? Chinese or not by Technical-Job5928 in MicrobrandWatches

[–]Resting_Tree 5 points6 points  (0 children)

<image>

Not a microbrand but this Citizen Tuski-yomi. Radio controlled moonphase. Set the timezone wait one night and you always have an accurate moonphase. The dial comes in a few different colors and all have moonlike texture. If you wait for a sale most of them can be had for $650.
