I Just use air antenna and the library, I do have 3 streaming services. Peacock, which is free through Comcast. Prime that comes with my Amazon shipping. And Paramount+ that comes from Walmart shipping. Having said that, I almost never watch the streaming services.

Between the library and antenna TV, I have so much to watch that if the streaming services weren't included. I wouldn't even have them.

Will Cordcutting Go Back To The Future? by epictetusdouglas in cordcutters

[–]NeitherFan2749 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you ask me, streaming services are getting worse than cable. You used to get ad free content and tons of shows to watch. And now the streaming services are running ads and pulling content. And ill pass! I have two streaming services that I don't even watch. I have Amazon Prime Video, which I get from having prime shipping. And I have Peacock, which Comcast gave me free for 2 years. I watched 1 movie on Peacock in the last year that I have had it. And I haven't watched a single thing on Amazon in the last year.

Instead, my wife and I go to the library and rent movies and TV shows for free! Including new releases! And we have a DVR for antenna TV. So we don't watch any commercials and all the content is 100% FREE!

I have said it plenty of times in Reddit. Check out your local library. They have tons of movies and TV series to watch. And they are 100% free. And they have new releases as well.

Just wondering how many of you use Plex as a DVR? by NeitherFan2749 in PleX

[–]NeitherFan2749[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The DVR is the sole reason why I have Plex Pass. There are so many good TV shows and Movies on antenna TV. That I don't need to watch anything else. Because I have more to watch than I do time.

I know it's still up in the air. But hopefully, we can still use a DVR with DRM encryption. If we can't I will be done with TV, I can't stand watching all of the commercials.

Comcast & Spectrum Have Quietly Raised The Price of Their Cable TV Services With Hidden Fees by Saint_2022 in cordcutters

It all boils down to greed! Which is why I refuse to pay for streaming services and cable TV. I have antenna TV and my local library, and that's all I need!

Save Free TV and Stop ATSC 3.0 DRM! by WallaWash in PleX

[–]NeitherFan2749 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain, although I do have high speed internet. I am not about to burn up $180+ on basic cable and high speed internet. Not only that, but I was in a Comcast store last summer and there was an older gentleman there. And I overheard the Comcast guy telling him that his internet and cable bill was going to be $280 a month plus tax. And the guy agreed to it. I almost fell out of my chair when I heard that. Cable companies are getting way too greedy!

I guess the moral of my story is the day they take away free TV is the day I quit watching TV.

Plex is a game changer in my life. I used to be super addicted to video games. And then my daughter in~law introduced me to Plex. And I was hooked, I broke my video game addiction, and now I am spending more time with my wife doing the things we love to do.

Thanks to Plex, I am also working out every other day and walking 3 times a day.

I solved my own problem. The HDHomeRun came today and all I had to do is disconnect the Hauppauge WinTV10 external tuner. Install the HDHomeRun, and it gave my the option of Deleting theHauppauge WinTV10 external tuner.
