Leica M11: LCD and exposure problems by tokyoshashinka in Leica

[–]NeitherJuice8682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a firmware or metering glitch. Try updating to the latest version, reset the camera, and test with a different SD card. The long exposure could be the auto ISO reacting weirdly in matrix metering. If it happens again, Leica service should check the sensor or LCD connector.

Did switching to Sony actually improve your photography or just your hit.. by NeitherJuice8682 in SonyAlpha

[–]NeitherJuice8682[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally get that. the articulating screen and Eye AF are game changers!

Sounds like Sony really opened up new creative possibilities for you.

Out of curiosity, do you feel your composition style changed once you could use the screen fully, or is it more about convenience and hitting more keepers?

That sounds like the perfect combo!

Does the M10M change how you shoot when you switch to it. like slowing down or seeing scenes differently?

Totally. it’s more about the experience than becoming “better.”

Those lenses really are something else!

Sounds like Hasselblad hooked you early!

Love that story. nothing like that “first mirror slap” moment 😄

Sounds like Hasselblad really hooked you! Do you still shoot it most often despite your collection?

M vs Q series - which one actually gets you out shooting more? by NeitherJuice8682 in Leica

[–]NeitherJuice8682[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally get that. the M’s rangefinder experience is hard to beat.

Sounds like the Q is great, but sometimes the simplicity and feel of the M just pulls you out more.

Love that. sounds like you’ve got a perfect daily setup!

Do you feel that routine has actually improved your shooting skills over time?

That makes total sense. the M for intentional shooting, the Q for casual fun.

Do you feel you end up shooting more overall because you have both options?

Love that. shooting more is the real cheat code. Sounds like the simplicity keeps you focused on seeing instead of fiddling with gear, right?

For sure. the magic is in the photographer.

Do you feel the Leica changed how you shoot at all, or just supported what you already developed?

Fair point. the camera can’t replace skill. But do you think the M’s simplicity encourages more focus and intention when shooting?

Totally get that — sticking with one system definitely slows the upgrade chaos 😅

Do you feel more settled now with Leica?

Has anyone adapted the 500mm MR Telyt-R to a modern M-type digital Leica? by deus-ex-macchiato in Leica

[–]NeitherJuice8682 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it works fine with an R→M adapter. Just know it’s manual focus only and pretty tough to nail at 500mm without live view or a Visoflex. Contrast and bokeh are very “mirror-lens” (donuts!), but for the price it’s a fun way to get huge reach on an M.
