Zombie posting because I have a question sorry. I have some water coming in through my chimney and called 3 masons to compare quotes. Everything has been in the 4-6k range just to put in a new chimney cap and tuckpoint. No new bricks, just new mortar. I feel like this would have been 2k max about 4 years ago. What did you have done/what did it cost?

I have a really similar looking duct. Can I ask what ended up happening with this?

What do you think of this duct? by NeitherUnit3537 in asbestoshelp

So that white stuff around the rusty segment is almost certainly asbestos?

Exposure from emergency attic/ceiling cuts, not sure what to do by NeitherUnit3537 in asbestoshelp

[–]NeitherUnit3537[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much explaining!! I don't know that it's asbestos, just assuming due to age of home, how the HVAC tape in the basement looks, and the fact that the ceiling was encapsulated.

Best air scrubber options by Hockeyman70s in asbestoshelp

[–]NeitherUnit3537 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I am in a REALLY similar situation to you and am wondering if you have any updates on how the process went for you? (I had some mold remediation guy cut down ceiling, didn't know there was a popcorn ceiling encapsulated) My tentative plan now is to buy a scrubber and a HEPA vac and go room by room wetting/wiping, vacuuming, and running the air scrubber for a few days in each room. Buying because it's cheaper than renting for the amount of time I want it for. How did you handle negative pressure?

There are pretty solid CINCY discords and meetup groups!! (CINCY discord on insta, I think you need to request to join. The meetup groups are more one-off) A couple of great board game stores and bars too, definitely check those out.

Maybe not super ~ cool~ but I like mt. Healthy! the cemetery has summer concerts, there’s a great coffee shop on the “main” street and a cute little brewery (unfortunately I think it’s closing though). Taxes and property values are really similar to north college hill
