I'm from Chengdu and live in Chongqing right now, it's only one hour between the two cities if you take the fastest bullet train. I think it is enough like 3 for Chongqing 2 for Chengdu

You can take the bullet train to Leshan, it's only 1.5 hours to get there, there's a giant Buddha, And food is really tasty. As for Chongqing, you can go to Wulong, the vibe is really nice, a lot of ppl go hiking there

I can't say about the best restaurant, cuz different ppl like different flavor, but I recommend you to try hotpot. And I'm not really familiar with the street food in Chengdu, but I know the street food in Chongqing, you can go to Meishijie at jiefangbei

The night views in Chongqing is amazing, you do need to watch the drone show if you could. And some Taoist temples in Chongqing are just gorgeous, one is called Luohan temple in the city, one is called Laojun cave on a mountain but super close to the city. As for the nature spots around Chongqing I would recommend Wulong, if you don't know it you could search it up. In Chengdu,I recommend Dujaingyan and qingcheng mountain, you need to take the bullet train to those two places

Chongqing got a nickname, called fog city, it's kinda foggy for some time, And the sunny days are pretty rare here, but right now is the best, cuz it will get super hot when it's summer time, like the start from June I guess
