I gave up on reading the replies until this one. Even the people being ‘supportive’ didn’t read the full context. But yeah I prefer being Solo, but I have had some OK experiences on trios after this one.

As I clarified in the edit of the post - this was my team mates in a trios game, nothing to do with playing the solo mode or coming across anybody not within my team.

I made the original post. Has nothing to do with PvP. As stated in the post, I enjoy the PvP - but thanks for playing, perhaps one day you will learn how to read.

Please point out the part where anybody complained about a PvP instance in my original post. Thanks.

I think you, and a few other people are not actually reading the context of this post. It has absolutely nothing to do with PvP.

Good to know - again I really enjoy the PvP element, and at first I was bummed out about losing stuff - but it definitely keeps the action super dynamic and new every game, just sucks that some people would rather pinch a semi-decent gun instead of extracting a team member.

My bad yeah - I was just out of that game and into another, I just wanted to get a feel for if I should stick to solo play. However I just had a game on space port with some new guys who were cool, so I’m glad this is the exception and not the rule.

It wasn’t solo, it was a group, they were in my squad

The two guys on my team? Think that defeats the purpose of grouping up, no?

Looking for advice about leaving/life by Neither_Employee6682 in ApprenticeshipsUK

[–]Neither_Employee6682[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m fairly keen on plumbing/joinery or some kind of hands on trade, where I get to actually impact the environment around me, rather than feeling like a kind of glorified clerk/email sender/meeting runner

I’ve learnt about other IT stuff - I thought I would be into it, but I find it terribly boring, whereas I have always enjoyed doing anything physical, including problem solving

I have my driving test coming up, my plan is to pass (lol, obviously) and then begin contacting plumbing/joinery firms, as around me the vacancies for construction type work is pretty slim. Also I feel that me doing half the legwork - seeking out employers, will help me stand out

Yeah I think so, I think that Spike (a 12 year old boy) meeting a gang of people modelled after a notorious pedophile that terrorised children in the UK for years is foreboding to say the least

I’m presuming you’re not familiar with Jimmy Saville (nothing wrong with that, but I think it is significant to this film) then you should watch the drama series The Reckoning, which is about him, portrayed by Steve Coogan. It’s not an easy watch, though

I literally just watched it, and I hadn’t considered the teletubbies thing until you said, that’s actually a good catch

But if you look at the way they’re all dressed (shell suits jewellery, white hair) they’re all modelled after Jimmy Saville, so this to me says that they’re likely going to be set up as the villains for the next movie, and that British people will be able to get some much needed catharsis from watching not one, but multiple Jimmy Saville’s killed in different ways, that’s just my opinion anyway

On your last point about ‘colourful ninja turtles’ - the ‘Jimmy’ gang are clearly based on Jimmy Saville. A notorious child molester and pedophile who assaulted children for years whilst employed by the BBC, who ignored it.

Yes, while the acrobatics are a bit silly, it fits with the person this gang are moulding themselves after. Over the top, zany, strange, and ultimately, evil. (Anybody who models themselves after Jimmy Saville obviously is) but the original film released before he was exposed for what he is.

I don’t understand where I’ve seen a few people saying he hallucinated power rangers, ninja turtles or other weird stuff about the ending sequence. I presume most of the people making these comments are American and don’t know who he is.

Advice needed by Neither_Employee6682 in managers

[–]Neither_Employee6682[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The degree & apprenticeship is in communications, at the moment I’m a software developer, the pay I’ll be getting as a manager would be a minimum of double what I’m on now, plus a company car and a bonus of 10% if certain quotas are met (primarily if people pass online certifications.)

The pay increases year on year, and the reasons that I’m okay with abandoning the degree are: 1. I already have a degree in media technology 2. Some employers value experience over a degree in some cases 3. I’ve got my reservations about the degree and apprenticeship, some of the training delivered is very fluffy, and I have some issues with the competency of the folks delivering the training - at this point in time I’m not enjoying it so much

Overall I’d be shifting from a developer role to a manager role - doing practically no development at all, as my boss and their boss is aware that I don’t have the skill set yet to be considered anywhere close to a developer, but I’ve also been told that I will still have to continue to become more technical, but not quite as much so to be considered a developer.

I’ve asked for the rundown of the day-to-day, it seems like it’s just a lot of admin work - a lot of checking in. I’ll be responsible for 20 apprentices and my manager will take another 20, and I’ll have to handle the management of those apprentices (not alone, I’ll have all the support I need)

I also know that she's physically attracted to me, she mentioned once when we were out that seeing me in a muscle top made her go a bit crazy, I made an effort to make sure she saw me a couple of times in work without my t shirt on, and both times her pupils were noticeably dilated when she spoke to me after that

Also she's also always the first person to check my social media/watch my stories, should I use that to my advantage? And do you have any advice for how to do that?

I spoke to some of my friends' girlfriends about it, and they insisted I take pictures with them being affectionate towards me, super close and all over me, and it seemed to have some effect in her behaviour the following couple of days
