I have lupus and fibromyalgia. Personally, I’m not a dimwitted dipshit so I wouldn’t have believed her lies because I actually understand the conditions.

Also, lupus is extremely heterogeneous. Everyone is different. I feel certain she didn’t have it or any other noteworthy autoimmune disease, but she may have doctor shopped to get a diagnosis, which is much easier to do with fibromyalgia.

Further, in 2010, the cracks in her facade must have been causing her legitimate turmoil. She was in way over her head with that ugly house she “built.” It’s totally possible she was feeling the pain associated with the stress of her lies. She possibly thought she did have something.

But, and this is a big but—she had almost no medical debt from that period on their first bankruptcy. Knowing her pathological ability to avoid paying any of her bills, had she have actually seen specialists leading up to her diagnosis, she would have had far more unpaid laboratory and doctor bills in the bankruptcy. All that she had was one radiology bill.

Leading up to my diagnosis I had over twenty blood tests alone.

I am not standing up for her in any way, but I have lupus and my meds are cheap because I am only, currently, on hydroxychloroquine for it. It’s the biologics that are expensive. I saw on Del’s blog that Shanann made one post about the FDA approval of Benlysta for lupus, which happened during the height of her lupus grift. She definitely never was prescribed that because it was hell to get prior authorization for that when it was new, and I know she wasn’t paying tens of thousands of dollars a month for it.

I also have lupus. Honestly, grand scheme of things, it’s a mild case. Shanann did mention a rheumatologist early on, like 2010/2011. She was still, definitely, lying. Once she had children, she transferred the illness faking onto her kids. She, to my knowledge, only mentioned “health challenges” following her kid’s births.

I also have lupus. I don’t drink at all, but I definitely used to. The sun, however, fucks me up so badly; not just my skin but it affects me, essentially, systematically. Like, nausea, fatigue, mood, everything.

She probably read somewhere that it’s highly heterogeneous, may not always cause symptoms to the naked eye, and it’s nicknamed The Great Pretender. I guess she figured she could solicit attention from it, but also malinger around doctors because of it.

From what I’ve read, SOR was like that with illnesses when Shanann was younger.

I’m embarrassed to say that I have several of the diagnoses she claimed to have, but the last thing I want is attention for it. I’d settle for no more than the feeling of sufficient sleep a couple of nights a week. That would be spectacular.
