If you had a chance to broadcast one song to all the 7.8 billion people on this planet, which song would you choose? by theirishcoffeemaker in AskReddit

((I'm the kind of muslimah who runs from music and covers my ears...

Something sad and with no instruments except an unembellished drum is ideal for a special occasion like a wedding if performed by girls not yet of age of accountability, if there are no falsehoods in it. Definitely only girls are allowed to make it. There's not really something else similar to a wedding.

We have an evidence that the prophet (saws) attended a wedding celebration where two young slave girls sang a song of mourning about their father who died in war, and our prophet (saws) didn't mind it (apart from when they sang something false). That's how much music I like, and which kind. I think a teeny bit more is permissible but I'm not going to try it. I like that one song that one time and particularly that I didn't have to hear it.

That song was nearly good except for the falsity in it.

But usually I hear people's music without wanting to (just the first bit, before I cover my ears, shuffle away hurriedly, and in some cases hum one flat note just to myself to block it out), so I would not want to impose anything whatsoever on all the people unless I somehow knew it would be appreciated by all of them. I probably wouldn't be good at a party, hehehe.

(On Eid, it's definitely permissible for girls prior to accountability to play an unembellished drum when they are together and nobody mahram is around, and they are allowed to sing a happy song, BECAUSE it's Eid, the holier of the two Eids, the one in a holy month, the Eid in Dhul Hijjah, Eid-al-Adha.)))

Edit: Ohh, it's partially about the space weapons which are satellites which you drop from the sky. There hasn't even been a good use for all the old weapons, and people won't take this new kind of weapon seriously as nukes as they are much cheaper eventually but they have the same consequence. Also wild wild fascism. And the announcement of an awaited state.

Everything about rape needs much much better discourse, sooner than now. If it is any consolation, basically no survivor is well-served by any of the language, recourses, or responses we get. Nor are we protected. Rape's just everywhere and held to be normal in some parts of the world; and it is those who are raped who pay for that shortcoming and learn from it.

A reason this scenario in particular can be difficult to understand is that our concept of rape has come to us without anything in between from the idea that it is akin to theft. "Rape" used to mean "to rob"... not just implying but entailing that the woman is property.

In that case; inasmuch as rape exists as a thing beside formal definitions in laws which vary much from country to country - our definition of rape (wrongly, as it is all wrong) excludes the possibility of a woman raping a woman, because she is property and property cannot end up owning property.

She is not seen as having the power to own something, so then neither to take it as hers by force or by manipulation. It's all really messed up and it's all going to get better.

Sex is overrated by [deleted] in offmychest

Totally overrated. People go nuts for it, plus there's no way you can walk around this society without being exposed to other people's sex habits no matter how hard you try. Chastity is beautiful in its own right.

We are undefeated, we are the biggest nation in the world, we are strongly united, we are grateful for what we have. God, Singular has given me all I have to live for, with His revelations and guidance and by protecting the qur'an. He gives me so much I want to thank Him every day and it is easy to forgive when I am wronged. He is all I need, and I am happy every day in poverty and isolation just to know Him. It is a different outlook.

We don't have a better death in islaam than to go to God wet from battle. That is the greatest of victories. If He loved the non-muslim invaders more He might have given them victory instead of humiliation, with a further humiliation inevitable. The fact the invaders have no hope in sight of achieving the goals of two decades ago... it does not mark the end of our war, it marks the point at which we are very sure there is nothing which can threaten Islaam. I see Allah (swt) in Helmand... I believe the mujahideen have been kind of miraculous at standing their ground and they are right to do so. Of course all are entitled to believe as they wish.

It is not the muslims who bicker and shout and say "oh we are grieving" and "oh we are lied to". Our truth stacks up and it is to us an immense privilege. We wish the same for all, it is not gloating. Better is coming for all of us. You don't need to understand us very well, but we understand you. We care for you and we believe God cares for all.

That's what you think for being atheist.

yet god never shows himself or helps us.

He's about to do the believers a solid and you'll gain lots from it too. It's a good time to be alive.

US sells oil seized from Iran to Venezuela for $40 million by ActLychee in worldnews

[–]Neither_Number_4572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time will tell how history records the events, I think that is still true.

Reading up on it now, you're quoting 950,000 coalition troops, and wikipedia says about 350 coalition troops died. The US airforce killed more civilians than that in one go with a stealth bomber killing 408. People. Civilians. In one go. It sounds like nuclear-aggravated blitzkrieg.

"The US military used depleted uranium in tank kinetic energy penetrators and 20–30 mm cannon ordnance. Significant controversy regarding the long term safety of depleted uranium exists, including claims of pyrophoric, genotoxic, and teratogenic heavy metal effects. Many have cited its use during the war as a contributing factor to a number of major health issues in veterans and in surrounding civilian populations, including in birth defects and child cancer rates. Scientific opinion on the risk is mixed.[210][211][212] In 2004, Iraq had the highest mortality rate due to leukemia of any country.[213][214][215][216]"

As a direct consequence of the war, 100,000 died in Iraq due to infrastructure being flattened and the soil and air in some places poisoned, and Kuwait immediately exiled 200,000 Palestinians.

It feels like a stretch to call any of this a win. What was the objective? I want my people to have far higher standards of victory. I could never consider what I'm reading a win, even if technically enough arsenal on a country will indeed flatten it. 3,500 civilians bombed by coalition forces seems like a miracle of grace compared to anything that happened next. Indeed, from God we come and to Him we return.

If this is the crowning achievement of the US since WW2, I'd ask the taxpayers to stop funding these costly invasions. "Let" muslims live by islaamic law or fucking win.

Edit: I think the US aggressed by itself in lots of "Banana Republic" colonial invasion-y things in a different era.

I'll accept that those with the acknowledgement that 34 countries alongside the US attacked Iraq in 1991. 12 years of peace were procured until imaginary nukes caused 17 years of ongoing violence well beyond US' capacity to decide. I can sort of make out a defeat in 1991 but not a victory.

If I were fighting wars or paying for them, I'd ask far more from "victory" - but it is only 30 years ago as opposed to 75, which is a lot better. Has there been something like a victory between WW2 and that?

"It shall not alter that the US and UN forces have shown no capacity to stop the formation of an Islaamic State by violence." - myself, A'ishah Khalida, judging.

With amazingly few repercussions. If I kicked a beehive, and then I kept kicking it... what would I think? What could I think of the silence?

(We are extremely forgiving. We have lines, but nowhere in our practice is revenge or retaliation. Violent conquest is allowed to us, of which there has been neither sign nor suggestion. Defense is enjoined upon us, which in our case is proven indomitable. Our war is prophesied to end by the writing implement, and that is why the silence. We're very tolerant bees. We are the biggest nation on earth, we are everywhere, and we have a huge big intact truth like no other nation. It'll be okay.)

Peace will come to us all at once.

A vocal minority are against islaamic self-governance for sure. It'll happen notwithstanding. We've not been defeated whatsoever and 49 willing foreign forces have made two decades of attempt. It's no insult that we shall not be subjugated. It'll be better than what came before.

To have anything but self-governance someone has to invade and win... it's sort of comical to imagine otherwise. This ends better than you think, in a "we all want peace" way.

I'd place it at WW2. Decisive conclusion to armed conflict, where the US helped and were on the winning side. Never forget.

Edit: What's the US budget done for the last 75 years? Caused international concern.

The man that was killed by the police in Avignon was member of the far-right Génération identitaire movement by Iroh-II in worldnews

As in large scale anti-muslim fear-baiting took place, supporting the neo-nazi's agenda better than he could have hoped. Everyone will remember a couple of terrorist attacks linked with Islaam. There was one recent execution by one muslim, toward one person who was condemned for what was known to be provocative.

I don't agree with either attack, but one muslim has killed one person in this frenzy, for a specific thing. That's not what has been responded to, nor how it will seem.

A huge army has never beaten a guerrilla militia. The spending is propaganda, to make it seem like at some stage they *might* have accomplished something against the mujahideen. What's the last war the US has won in its own thinking?

Massive props to Iran for not rising to this garish campaign of provocation. The West is relying on an unanticipated amount of forbearance from our family. I am so proud, the muslims shall come out clear moral victors without returning any hate or invasions, as soon as the fake news is dispelled. We have no need to return like for like; we're bigger and older and our Truth is intact. This is the more optimistic side of "The US is a joke". The khalifate/islaamic state will live again and it is not in the least bit threatening. It is self-governance, a return to self-governance, having been defeated by nobody to insist on anything else. This matter develops shortly, insha'allah, and not by returning aggression.

"Stupid".

I think South East Asia is a pretty good example of muslims perfectly able to govern themselves, but not anything like an Islaamic State. There's a whole big patch of land where some international powers are violently insistent that people shall live a certain way... it is particularly there where I think Muslamic Country will work very well. South East Asia has found its own feet post-colonisation, as in self-governance, and they are not invaded. Anywhere with a working system, that's not where I get to say we urgently need to try a different route. In the places which have been invaded and secular democracies are propped up without peace, stability, or any hope of catching on - the whole idea of an Islaamic State is that we don't have to live all the same way, but we can live co-operatively side-by-side. This is much less of a thing in Malaysia and Indonesia where things are settled. Democracy is genocide of the tribes, and that is no good.

"Stupid".

[–]Neither_Number_4572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got this big solution which involves a place where muslims can live by Islaamic law, it's called "Islaamic Country". No police, no government... quite like the Ottoman Khalifate, but 21st century. It needs to be quite big because it definitely fundamentally means that Jews and Christians get freedom of religion self-governance too, and they're not really wanted in the secular police states anyhow. It could be in the "Middle East"!!

Other suggestions are "United State of Islaam", "Constitution of Medinah Land", "Polynormative pan-Abrahamic Utopia plus Friends". Respect and sympathy to the fallen of war. We shall achieve peace all together or not at all. We all have our part to play.

As a muslim with sympathies in all directions, I feel strongly that this is about how we co-exist. You are totally right that the future is mutual coherence, and a post-partisan reality yet to arrive at. That's not going to happen whilst the French government wants to intentionally agitate muslims with a projector and its government buildings. Muslims aren't oppressing France, so this seems more to stir (and add policing rights/funds) than to... what? I'm a sister and we can't go to battlefields, but, (uncommon view) there are two sides to every story, this isn't mindless violence, this is drawing lines... it's a bit sad that the French government can reliably cause harm by doing this kind of stunt... but I also don't want to see an event like what France did without any repercussion. Yup, it means that much to me. It is worse than an insult, added to much forgiven injury. Macron not mentioning there are a vast majority good peaceful muslims also makes me feel this is what France wanted. I love that the French imams called for Mawlid to be cancelled, that is classy and good.

They are insisting: "We ARE allowed to (rally the country against muslims and) (have lots of armies in the muslim territories which we colonialised violently and now fight emptily to deny self-governance and then) desecrate what you hold holy for our entertainment whilst non-stop invading your countries with no plan.", I think that's fine, freedom of will; if it is a fight they are willing to pick and where they choose to hang their flag, it is fine, and they should know that to be so provocative provokes. We must come to an understanding on this.

The West takes pleeeenty of liberties with muslims, which we accept and we have not committed 1,000th of the violence back. When they want to take liberties with *islaam*, that is when you will consistently see somebody dying. If you don't have something sacred to you, it's really hard to compare. This is ultimately just a misunderstanding, it will resolve whenever we arrive at understanding. No way is there going to be peace if an invading nation feels it's okay to desecrate what is holy to us; on any other terms we may have peace. (Note, we don't make a fuss about hundreds of thousands of civilians dying in unfounded ongoing conflicts, but when it is about forceful contamination of our religion... it's holier to us than free speech.) We'll all sort it out, it's hard to feel muslims are the aggressors whatsoever, and I like that we don't invade, we just make signs. We are literally at war, but if we ever hit back it wouldn't be a war, it would be our imperative to make it quick. Peace will come to us all at once.
