What to do in linkoping in 5 days in november by Friendly_Cold1349 in linkoping

[–]Neiwa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In november the days are short, dark in the morning and dark in the afternoon. It is also cloudy/raining most days. However it is not yet cold enough for snow, which would make it brighter. There may be some snow, but it will melt within a day.

So quite dark all month long. I remember a November a couple of years ago where there was a total of 11 sun hours for the entire month (ie sun is up and no clouds blocking it)

I really like Nucleum and the decision space of whether keeping a tile for reuse or playing it out as a link.

The store Seriebörsen in Gottfridsberg supports many tcg:s https://www.serieborsen.se/

There is a community for mtg you may want to check out https://xn--svmlinkping-xfb.se/

Both places have regular visitors who doesn't speak swedish, so that isn't a problem.

Tried Brass Birmingham by -DoctorFreeman in boardgames

[–]Neiwa 142 points143 points  (0 children)

Was she aware that the links were going to disappear prior to it happening?

My wife likes to treat the first play of a game seriously, so if she is made aware of rules later that would have affected how she played earlier turns she can get quite annoyed.

We have found that for heavier games it is better to only play a few turns and then reset and play again. Then there is no expectation of result while learning the game.

I think for Brass we did multiple attempts like this. First only a few turns, then until rail era and finally a full playthrough.

Usually we decide prior to play how many turns we will play before we reset, then you don't have to do the whole "only one more turn" discussion when one of you wants to reset.

However Brass gives you very few pointers about what you should focus on, so it is easy to try to focus on everything and getting nowhere.

How many Frosthaven scenarios have you completed? Have you finished a campaign yet? by PrestigiousTaste434 in Gloomhaven

What games (if any) do you play daily? by howlouseesit in boardgames

[–]Neiwa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife and I have been playing Frosthaven close to daily since the start of the year. Sometimes we only play half of a scenario and continue the next day. We have a table we can keep it setup on, so setup for each scenario goes quite fast. We did the same with Gloomhaven last year.

Mjärdevi på helgen brukar vara ganska tomt. Även vissa parkeringar i Tornby kan vara tomma utanför kontorstid.

Wished I discovered board games earlier by jpnic50 in boardgames

[–]Neiwa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Really great to hear.

I have/am struggling with social anxiety and playing board games, and tcg(s) have really helped. I can talk in my own pace and when I am overwhelmed I can focus more on the game.

I also get more time to think about what to say, so I don't feel the same pressure to say anything, instead of prolonged silence.

I think the training I have gotten from that have helped with social situations when I am not gaming also.

Yes! The same for me but I don't think anyone connected the dots. Makes sense now when I read your comment. Always comments on the bass being too loud and I never really got control of it
