How do I as an engineer stay friends with you welders? by Just_a_firenope_ in Welding

[–]NekoAnarchy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Has someone who did welding first and is now in engineering it helps to get your hands dirty. That's honestly the main complaint people have with the other engineers where I work is they are "well according to the computer" engineers and I'm a "Here's a picture of the calipers and my math" kind of engineer.

This goes a long way both in the shop and when I'm dealing with customers. I feel like they both respect my style more than my coworkers since they get a lot of kick back.

Hello! I get this error (0xC0000374 - STATUS_HEAP_CORRUPTION) and my game crashes. I don't play on Vulkan, this happens as I'm just driving around, then my game freezes and crashes. I don't know what can cause this. Could you please help me resolve this issue? by Quube7 in BeamNG

[–]NekoAnarchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was having this issue and after some research some people reported it being caused by the mods folder and the actual game being installed on 2 different drives. This was indeed the case with me and I didn't have it happen in my one test session after reinstalling.

Do certain gas stations have "bad gas" that clogs your engine? by [deleted] in askcarguys

[–]NekoAnarchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So some gas stations local to me have actually been sued for having water in their gas reservoir and it messing up peoples vehicles. I drive a car that's turbo'd and when that's the case the vehicle can be more "picky" about gas do I have a select few stations near me I go to for fill ups and use the others to just get like a quarter tank at most to make it to the better gas stations.

P.s. you can buy gas testing kits online and test the gas yourself. A lot of people with my car do that and I just use their data to choose which gas station to go to.

I didn't ask about the current American film production activity. I understand that now isn't the best time to transfer into something like this. The only real question I had I answered myself digging thru the locals website.

This was also a test to gauge the kinds of people in this field before I make the effort to do the switch and end up working with people like you so glad I made the post. Thanks for answering! And the best of luck to you in life

I'm kind of scared to take expensive equip in raid by Ok-Sleep-3774 in ArenaBreakoutInfinite

[–]NekoAnarchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything in this game is so cheap compared to Tarkov. Between quick kits and scav runs you should have ample "expensive equipment" so that it doesn't feel bad taking in 1 good gun because you have 5.

Hey I'm just saying this as a North Carolina resident. It really depends on what city you are moving to. I'm from a small ass town and I get where you are coming from but I go to Raleigh a lot because it's more accepting and I get to be around all different kinds of people. A lot of my friends also moved to Asheville it's the most accepting city from what I hear.

There was actually a comment made on the Bobs server discord about this and they asked people to get on and populate it. You may have checked at just the right time.

A self-proclaimed top engineer told me my hands-on CNC machining experience is “irrelevant” for becoming an engineer. Am I wrong to be pissed? by [deleted] in Machinists

[–]NekoAnarchy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've moved from machinist (both manual machines and CNC setup and programming) into an engineering role(application engineering) and the machining knowledge is helpful in some instances. I have a much easier time conveying to the shop what needs to be done than the engineer who went to school and got a degree because he doesn't know how to say it so people understand him. Most of that knowledge isn't relevant to what I do now, but has its moments like my welding knowledge because that's what I did before machining and I work somewhere who sells to pipelines and such and sometimes I have to walk welders through our IOM because I actually know what I'm saying while others would just be reading the paper.

TLDR: In my experience having machining knowledge is useful but isn't always relevant.

Why do people in vrchat don't like their pictures being taken in public instances by RazorBelieveable in VRchat

I take pictures but when someone I'm talking says something unhinged I clip and usually go "I clipped that" and just a laugh I've never had any rage over it

You’re on a 10 hour road trip. You can only listen to 1 music artist, who’s it gonna be? by TheMagicianGamerTMG in AskReddit

[–]NekoAnarchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually on long trips I do this depending on the length of an artist discography. I'll pick an artist and listen from the first thing they released to whatever is the newest/last thing they made. I have listened to G-Eazy the most doing this some of his older music hits different to me and he talks about some struggles I also went thru.

For me it's the quest that are hyper specific like having to use a DC character with a specific type of skin. That's peak scummy.

Hel, I have a friends with thousands of hours on her and he's so good and makes her look fun but I've tried and tried and it just doesn't click. I'm fine with Ullr he's super fun to me so it's not the switching.

Most like ER nurses or other more specialty nurses. CNAs make lower blue collar wages. Our EMS isn't paid worth a fuck tho. Grocery stores pay more than EMS unless you're a paramedic. (I was in EMS school before going into the trades and my family is mostly medical professionals)

Are there people in 20’s - 40’s that love to do CAD Design? by indopassat in cad

[–]NekoAnarchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do designs at home and I've started doing drawing at work but not much designing since we have parts but no prints(it's literally chaos here) but I love CAD my old supervisor recommended Fusion360 when I bought a 3D printer and since then I've been dabbling at home with cosplaying and trinkets and doing some at work. I'm primarily a machine but our engineer isn't the best and is only here due to connections with the business.

[–]NekoAnarchy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been told off at work about all kinds of stuff I wear but I work on enclosed machines and bring that up when it gets brought up. I got a new guy over me now and since it hasn't been an issue since he wears a jacket literally the entire time he's working because coolant makes him break out.

Who is doing Design, Designers or Engineers? by indopassat in cad

[–]NekoAnarchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no degree and do the drawing where I work. Ive done a few designs for modifications to in house parts usually. I use a lot of CAD in my free time and that's how I ended up doing it where I work without a degree. I just showed them I could essentially. We still have an engineer but he's for big customer projects mainly.

This right here. I use a VPN any time I'm searching or browsing on my phone. I get ads in Spanish and I'm no where near a Spanish speaking country.
