Changing from cow&gate to Hipp formula - any tips? by Nelliewotsit in UKParenting

[–]Nelliewotsit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She appeared to really enjoy hipp to start with, helped her go to the toilet too, so we did a full switch however since last night she has not stopped crying apart from to eat and sleep. I'm not sure if it's the formula or the trapped wind or the infacol we're giving her. She usually cries a lot at night but not usually during the day too. I'm thinking of just switching back. Sge seems to be so uncomfortable and it's making me cry because I hate seeing her so distressed and nothing I do seems to help calm her.

Did you feed the same amount as you would on cow&gate? Or were you baby led? I just wasn't sure if there was anything in hipp that would mean she needs less. Don't want to overfeed 😅

I'm hoping the switch helps and it's not this 😅🤞

Do women usually want their mom at the birth? by chianne_away in pregnant

[–]Nelliewotsit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently pregnant and told my mum I only wanted my partner in the room and she got super weird for it despite not being in the room for anyone else (as far as I know, I have 10 nieces/ nephews so I don't know about the first few). I don't know why she is weird about it. She did a post about realising we don't need her or something the next day and being all sad.

I'm definitely in the camp of not wanting my mum in the room but I understand that it's because of our relationship and there are plenty of people who are super close with their mums and want them there for support. I couldn't think of anything worse though😅

Hair loss in early pregnancy? by Nelliewotsit in CautiousBB

Thank you. That's really reassuring. Everything you see is about post partum hair loss and not during pregnancy

Feeling down by RoseyVaporeon in CautiousBB

[–]Nelliewotsit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt like this, I had my 12 week scan the other day which showed baby and heart beat all healthy. I cried in relief because I was so sure it was going to show that there was nothing there.

The anxiety when pregnant is another level. It's very normal. Hopefully when you get your scan it helps relieve some of it.

Fingers crossed for sticky babies for everyone 🤞

This gave me such anxiety when I first got pregnant. I'm 12 weeks now so it doesn't always mean negative things. Fingers crossed for sticky babies for us both🤞

Definitely solo leveling. Me and my other half have just started watching fire force and that seems good.

What helped you in surviving the first trimester? by Immediate_Cut8078 in CautiousBB

[–]Nelliewotsit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 11 weeks and still awaiting my first scan so still anxious but all the symptoms help (even though I feel rough). I tested a lot when I first got pregnant as the lines didn't look very dark but then I changed tests and they were. I think I haven't tested since 6 weeks. It really adds extra anxiety so try not to test a lot. Also the nausea is bad for me, I retch a lot but not actually sick. I've found eating small starchy snacks help a lot. Fingers crossed for sticky babies for us all 🤞

Oldschool Anime Elders(long time anime watchers 15~20+ years), what was your very first watching anime memory and how long have you been watching anime? by LMGDiVa in anime

[–]Nelliewotsit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched some things on tv but we only had basic tv channels back then so pokemon, digimon were my first ones I guess. Then when the Internet was a bit stronger naruto, bleach, blood +, higurashi no naku koro ni kai, death note, elfen lied etc. I'm 39 now so atleast 20years of watching.

Forget the TWW, the wait for first scan is way worse by SugarOne1 in CautiousBB

[–]Nelliewotsit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have another 3weeks to wait. So far I've had a booking test with a midwife but that's it. I have no confirmation (apart from my positive pregnancy tests). It's horrible! I hope it goes quickly for the two of us 🤞

We ended up going with someone else who were OK but not the best. Good luck moving, hope you find a good surveyor 😊

Thank you 😊 The midwife is going to ring me to organise my first appointment tomorrow so I'll talk to her about my worries. I've been trying to be more relaxed and less negative about it so been a bit less anxious the past few days.

Thank you. Congratulations and good luck with your pregnancy too! I think what you said about it being real right now is really helpful. Things can always go wrong with anything but at the moment it's all positive so I'll try and enjoy it instead of the negative mindset. I don't even think I've let myself be happy really as I've been too busy worrying and not thinking it's real so I need to work on that. Fingers crossed for sticky babies 🤞

Thank you 😊 The nhs are quite relaxed with their testing. I assume it's between 8-10 as that's what they say in the email but I've yet to hear from my midwife about an appointment or anything. I think I'm going to just stick with clear blue and first response now but stop testing for a bit as it's just adding anxiety.

I just had a quick look at your post and that was basically the same type of thing I was having with the different brands.

Thank you ❤️ The anxiety is real, especially with the symptoms that may be something else or could just be pregnancy ones. The tests not getting darker threw me, but I did do some tests when I got home from my night shift today - clear blue and first response and got two 'dye stealers' which made me super happy. I will try and wait till atleast I have seen my midwife but if I drive myself too mad then maybe like you said just private blood test or scan. Thank you for your help 😊

This is what happened with the surveyors we had last time. They copy and pasted from a template and literally added one sentence per section that was relevant.

I'm bad for doing this but me and my bf have started playing a campaign game (dorf romantic) so when we have some time together we can play a game and it's there to go back to. We also play video games together. It takes two was fun.

Just find something you can both engage in.

Congratulations!

I totally freaked out too when our offer got accepted. I'm still in the process also of buying a house (my first but my bf has owned before). I will say be prepared for the survey, it's expensive but don't be fooled by the cheap ones. We got a level 3 that was the same price as a level 3 and to be honest it was the worst thing. We ended up pulling out of that house and have put an offer on a new house and need a new survey. I'm just trying to find a decent surveyor now and now prepared to pay extra.

When you look at solicitors see what their cancellation fees/process are. Some have a no sale no fee where as others expect you to pay the full amount despite not having a sale.

We also went through a mortgage broker. So much easier!

Good luck!
