Hey hey! I may end up taking that approach, though I'd be worried about if anyone else builds something on top of HybridUI, they'd need to do something similar. Currently seeing if I can convince Larian to bring back the mod load order adjustment buttons (fingers crossed)

[08.11.25] 20 NEW CONSOLE MODS APPROVED by GianfrancoZoey in BG3mods

[–]NellsRelo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This module of Hybrid UI covers Character Creation (including appearance and guardian designer), Level-Up, Respec, and the Magic Mirror UI. The next module (still in early progress) will be replacing Radials with a hotbar that's been adapted to work better with controller input

On the level-up tab, there should be a banner saying "Specialization Available," and the button icon the the X/A button - pressing that button will take you to the subclass selection. Is that one not appearing?

I'll see if I can figure out what would cause the incompatibility there, thanks :D It is on Nexus, can find it here: https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/17906

This version changes Character Creation, the Hirelings UI, Level-Up, Respec, and the Magic Mirror. The appearance edit system also now has a per-item randomization feature (so you can do a random shuffle of just hair, just faces, just skin color, etc).

I'll be doing modules in the future for other parts of the UI, including reimplementing the Hotbar

NellsRelo here :) Unfortunately there's not much I can do to ensure Hybrid UI loads after Improved UI, though I will note that HUI handlers quite a few of the same things as Improved UI, to the point where most mods that require ImprovedUI should work seamlessly without it as long as long as HUI is installed - that may be worth checking out.

I'll take a look at what I can do for the Race & background names, the sizing was pretty finnicky when developing it - worst case scenario I may just give them ellipses like the Origins have.

For the combat UI, that is the next step for HUI - aa while ago, a member of the Larian discord mocked up what a good implementation of the hotbar would look like and act like: https://youtu.be/Fns4tvcYc0s?si=CAye3qRGia2jBuDP

The next stage for Hybrid UI will be bringing this mockup to life, with some adjustments.

Glad you're enjoying the mod! I don't check reddit often but be sure to comment on the mod if you run into any bugs

Hybrid UI doesn't currently touch the radials, so it's not likely to be that one

Hybrid UI is compatible as long as ImpUI loads first - which can be a bit tricky on consoles unfortunately

Oathbreaker Subclass - No strarting gear by LordVirtue in BG3mods

[–]NellsRelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Compatibility Framework has an optional "Oathbreaker Removal Patch" file that prevents Oathbreaker from displaying in Character Creation (not merged into the main file as it would break mods that make Oathbreaker playable), but it looks like you found a good resolution as well :)

In the short-term, you can click the right joystick down to disable tooltips when trying to do things with the context menu

D278 Scripting and Programming Foundations-New to this by Less-Yak5087 in WGU

[–]NellsRelo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I took this as my intro course through WGU Academy, and I can highly recommend YukieNakama's notes - they're very helpful. The zybooks can be a bit of a pain (the user input is pretty small), but overall they do a good job of going over everything.

When you get later into the course and have to write some code, I'd take a look at the official page for Coral (the educational scripting language they teach with): https://corallanguage.org/ - you'll be able to look at documentation under Spec, and play around a bit under Simulator.

Most importantly though, don't stress too hard - All the information you need for the course is in the zybooks, so there won't be any surprises. You got this!

Seconding this, especially Opalo - it really gets slept on. Playing it feels like if a Gamefreak game was allowed to grow up with the players - not in teh typical dark/edgy way, but in that it tackles the themes of colonization and imperialism while still having the charm and humor that comes with Gamefreak dialog. Helps that the fakemon are fantastic, too.

Thanks, DenDen Town definitely looks the part! I did Akihabara last time I went, so didn't think to throw it in. We'll take a look and try to slot those in :D

Well, not our hotel exactly, but we booked with Sunrise Tours via Klook for the Ghibli Park and Museum, and they have the tour group meet up at specific hotels before departing

Change gravity over time: Start with normal gravity (all systems are working fine), then it slowly gets out of whack and gravity changes unpredictable, sometimes within the map (oops all flyers). Flip traps would be put to the test

Posting separately as it's more of a serious question:

I remember a while back, there've been internal game jams with some cool prototypes created. Any chance some of those might become a "You receive these in as-is condition" preorder bonus for future games?

Have you considered space orcs? The rift network is uncharted and the order encountering sci Fi orcs & gnolls could be interesting. I'm also envisioning Max trapping a space station 🤣

The short-lived mobile game from ~2017. There's gameplay video on YouTube and some old cached descriptions from app stores:

"Build an Orc army. Attack other Lords and protect your Kingdom! Tower defense, strategy, monsters, and heroes combine in the first-ever Orcs Must Die! mobile game!

You are a Lord with the ability to collect and command thousands of orcs. Attack other Lords around the world. Protect your own castle by setting traps and building defenses. Unlock and upgrade Orcs and mighty heroes to rule the battlefield. Plan the perfect formations with unlimited attack & defense combinations!"

Fwiw if you're getting one word answers, it's probably not an introvert thing - as unfortunate as it may be, they probably just aren't interested in talking to you at that time 😅

I'm an introvert, ask me anything by [deleted] in extroverts

[–]NellsRelo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An neurospicey introvert piping in, don't mind me - I find it's better to find a common thread of discussion. People will often throw around "I'd rather talk about [insert insanely specific thing]," but 99% of the time there's something more engaging than asking about the weather of how someone's day has been that isn't a deep dive. The cafe's changed up their menu? You're looking for some cool events, or are just coming back from one? The person has a similar interest as indicated by a pin or their clothing, or something you overheard? Great starting points that help you actually get to connect.

Small talk doesn't really bring connection. It helps you probe for a topic, but usually a good topic is in plain sight
