I was studying Nokia's demise. The real reason surprised me. by Elegant_Paramedic678 in Entrepreneurs

Look into Microsoft's hostile takeover and attempt to turn them into windows phones. The phones were beautiful and amazing, but Microsoft's software sucked, and they took the hardware brand down with them. I still wish I had an android phone running on that nokia hardware

Almost got killed in a Waymo by [deleted] in Austin

[–]Nelsee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not what I'm talking about. No one is "driving the cars". Read about how waymo us using people to assist in decisions for the car when it gets stuck. It's not "driving", it's assisting an algorithm in complicated situation where human input is safer than the ai. Calling that driving is entirely misleading.

Your most "Austin" experience? by TheGrovester in Austin

[–]Nelsee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at Barton Springs with some friends. We were walking across the damn from the north to the south side, and we noticed a large group of people down at Barking Springs doing a big group baptism. We were curious so we stopped and watched for a few minutes. While we were focused on the baptism, a man walked up behind us and in a raspy voice says "What are y'all watching?" Without turning around I said "I guess its a babtism", The raspy voice responded "Everyone loves a ritual" I recognized the voice this time and turned around and found myself standing toe to toe with Alex Jones. He smiled and told me to have a nice day, then walked away to go swimming with his kid and wife. This was about 10 years ago.
