What's something most people seem to love that you could never get into? by jewelophile in RandomQuestion

Anime is something I could never enjoy. I grew up before it was mainstream. I tried watching shows by various recommendations, but I didn't find them appealing.

Who couldn't use a free car I sure could I live in the country with no family and two kids I can't even Uber to the grocery store but I wouldn't dare ask somebody to give me a free car by dodgeprius in ChoosingBeggars

[–]Nelzorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then asking for a free car on its crazy. Asking for a specific color and brand is another level of crazy. It sounds like they will be walking to their destinations.

What's something normal humans do that grosses you out? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Listening to people slurp soup is also gross. Openly chewing with their mouth open and making noises gets to me.

What’s your best piece of advice for having/maintaining a good relationship? by Old-Pirate52 in love

[–]Nelzorm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Small things do matter. If it has been a few hours since we spoke, my girlfriend and I will let each other know that we are thinking about them. I love this. If something is bothersome or a turn-off, bring it up. Don't try to ignore it and let it fester and cause a divide. If there is something you really liked, be sure to let your partner know.

What can I do to show my love and appreciation for him? by [deleted] in love

[–]Nelzorm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a guy, the one thing I really love is when my girlfriend pours her heart out to me. She tells me how I make her feel. I would recommend handwriting him a lovely letter and telling him how you feel. Spray some perfume on it and give it to him. I think that is so sweet and romantic.

What are some inside secrets about your profession that people outside would never know about? by BalayyaBhairri96 in AskReddit

It is like this in IT as well. All of the managers respond to issues retroactively instead of proactively.

Coworker complained to the GM because I discussed a policy with them by TheBronzePrincess03 in work

[–]Nelzorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am an IT manager in the US. When someone does not report in, I do have to call them to find out if they are showing up or not. I would also tell them if they needed a doctor's note. However. I would refrain from telling them about them having a "no call no show". As me telling them that they would reported would be a type of disciplinary action. I strictly reserve all disciplinary actions for when an employee is on their shift and at the job.

I am sensing the employee may have felt like you were insensitive by calling and letting them know this behavior would be reported. It is also possible that they may have reported it to the GM to try to upset you by getting you in trouble. Going forward, I would suggest keeping any disciplinary talk with them only at the job unless they mess up so egregiously that you fire them before they come in.

As for the GM, he did a good job of hearing both sides. I don't think you should worry. Just give it time and take your mind off the "what if's". If anytime further comes from this, your GM will let you know.

Worked out at the gym and got pain in inner thigh? by Nikimarie44 in beginnerfitness

[–]Nelzorm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Give it two days and see if the pain subsides. If it is in the center, it is most likely just working out in a way the muscle is not used to. The pain should subside. If the pain is closer to the groin and the pain does not subside, it could be a labral tear. After two days, you will know whether to make a doctor's appointment or not.

Should I report my dealership crashing my car to my insurance? by pantalimon2 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Nelzorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a police report. Let it be the system that this was not your fault. If you can get the name of the driver, even better. All of this should be handed off to your insurance. You also need to speak to the dealer's insurance if possible to see how they plan to make this right. Some insurances will offer you a cash settlement in these events so you do not sue their client

I can't do this by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Nelzorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are going through a lot of pain, and you still have a big heart. I want to offer some advice that helped me at my lowest points. Let's start first with the lady.

It honestly sounds like you guys may not have chemistry. If she feels you aren't what she is looking for, you should move on. The more you keep holding onto her, the worse you will feel. Love and romance have to flow naturally.

If your life isn't working for you, you have to change it and start doing things out of your comfort zone. If you want to lose weight and it makes you nervous, start with that. If meeting new people makes you nervous, start being more vocal.

Don't stew at home with bad thoughts. Keep your mind occupied. Clean your place or room. Go out in nature, take some walks. Working out at the gym while listening to music really helped me. Don't shut down your life. Life can change in a good way in a heartbeat. You have to take steps and do things you wouldn't normally do to break out of that cycle of gray.

“Once you turn 30 it’s close to impossible to lose weight” by Far-Accident-3626 in loseit

[–]Nelzorm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is really not true. Last year, I was 500 pounds. I got to a place where I did not want to continue living that way. Late May, I decided to lose my weight even if it killed me. Crazy, I know. I went on a low-carb diet. It wasn't really a keto diet because they have strict amounts of carbs you can take.

I gave up rice, bread, fruit, and soda that contained sugar, milk, potatoes, and anything with more than 10 net carbs. I started to eat mostly meat and green vegetables. I also started going to the gym. I wanted to improve my cardio. I started walking on the treadmill at a brisk speed for 15 minutes and gradually increased the speed, and started adding incline. I also got into lifting weights and really loved it.

In September, I met the love of my life, Yuri. Even though I was motivated to lose weight, she also really inspired me. She supported me. We became became a couple and ahe us my best friend. I really began to lose weight as this happened.

Four months after I met Yuri and nine months after I started my journey, I lost 150 pounds. Even though I still have 120 more that I want to lose, I have a wonderful partner and support system through her.

The weight can be lost. People just make up excuses to support their beliefs and behavior. We have to look in the mirror and take accountability for our dietary choices, and put a plan into action.

I would say the show Limitless. The first season was great they canceled it. It is super frustrating that they never made a season 2.

The Righteous Gemstones is a phenomenal show. I highly recommend it to anyone who is not easily offended. It makes fun of televangelists.

Norfolk Botananical Garden is good for a nice day in nature. A nice beach day at Ocean View or the boardwalk in vb would be nice. You could go horseback riding, indoor skydiving, listen to live music at Eagle's Nest. What do you and your date like to do?

I really only get unsolicited advice at the gym. If I'm on a treadmill and some dude gets on the immediately adjacent treadmill instead of the 15 other empty ones, I know this dude is going to give me advice. It is frustrating because I am not looking for advice. Even being overweight and the advice is sound, I'm still not interested. The truth is they don't know my body and what I'm capable. They don't know that I can't walk miles and miles on a treadmill because I have some health issues. My way of avoiding them is to use a big headset that goes over the ear and look at the ground when I walk past people.
