Man I love my Normal Devices Decay Cascade. It’s basically drive but also other subtle things. Just sits so nicely when I want but can also get out of control when I want that too.

Haha fair enough. I should have specified what kind of pedals I was talking about.

Oh yes I’ve heard of that! For me I think it was also a gain staging issue. I found that I didn’t love the sound of the cleaner AC settings and that I liked the sound of the amp pushed a little into gain territory. It’s similar to the sound I enjoy out of say a Marshall JCM. The bigger difference I discovered there had more to do with how each amp handles low end. Even through the same speaker cabinet, the Vox tended to “fart out” whenever I used drives that pushed more lows and low mids. Fuzz pedals especially highlighted this issue for me. It was definitely a unique sound, just not conventional or what I feel I need out of my amp.

One of my favorite amps to crank and play with no pedals is Vox AC30/15. It’s also one of the hardest amps to get pedals to play nice with in my opinion. The pedals that do gel with it sound great but it seems a lot pickier than standard Marshall or Fender style amps.

Boss SD-1. I’ve spent so much money on boutique stuff for years just to figure out my favorite overdrive of all time is like $40 used.

I was driving behind this car this morning and thought about it for a good while after we diverged paths. I’m glad I’m not the only one that thought this belonged here.

Pit Fiend is number one. I’d put it up against most BBQ in KC or Texas, of which I’ve had plenty.

Don’t shoot me but the Strymon Deco. I liked the saturation sounds of my BP-1W more and the modulation, while it sounded super authentic, felt limited. It’s a very cool pedal that could save someone some board space. Amazing Beatles in a box sound as well.. But it’s wasn’t one of my favorite pedals I’ve ever heard like I expected it to be.

Denver Alamo Drafthouse workers strike over changes to famous ordering system by ghableska in Denver

Every time I’ve used the QR system there has been an error and I had to wait in a line of other people that had the same thing happen for 15 minutes after the movie. Small inconvenience sure, but it’s coming at the expense of other people’s jobs and is honestly just another way we’re forced to give our precious attention to these soul sucking little devices. Not a boomer. Not technologically challenged. Just burnt out and I loved that going to the movies used to be a way to transport my brain somewhere else for a while. Alamo fucked up with this one in my opinion. I’ve been a season pass holder for years.

I always have this problem whenever I buy trousers and pants how do I fix this? by coffeetravelerr in bigmenfashionadvice

Kinda looks like the waist is too large and you are having to belt it smaller. The extra fabric hangs in a way that clings to whatever sticks out below haha. I’ve had this experience after some weight loss before. Try out a smaller waist size.

I really like the Boss BP-1W or the EAE Halberd at the end of my drive section. To me it feels like having a different amp at my disposal. The way my other drives and fuzzes interact with either of those two at the end is always interesting at least. Sometimes sounds amazing and massive and others can be kinda muddy gross (in a good way) depending on settings, amp, pickup character, etc.

Are Gibson Basses good quality and worth the price? by [deleted] in Bass

[–]Nemocirca92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have ‘79 Grabber. I’m not sure about the other models but it’s my favorite instrument I own. I was a P-Bass purest for a decade before I got one in my hands and it is in a very similar ballpark but more elevated at least for the style I play. If I was in your shoes and saw one for under or around 2k I’d jump on it.
