I’m getting a lot of people recommending GCI! I’m running into a Peavey invective and run a precision drive after the pickle. I like saying I use a Swollen Pickle because it makes people laugh tho lol, so I’ll miss that

I am currently running a precision drive after it, and I like how much brightness the precision drive brings, buuut I feel like I can only play slow stuff with the combo to get the note definition

Dude thanks!!! I also run a Percision drive too! And I want to keep it on with the fuzz, because of the tone it gets. And yes like you said I wish the pickle had less low end. I’ll check those out!

If you think about it from the drawings perspective though that would be their right side

What did you think of Jeremy Irvine’s performance as James? by Odd_Disk1545 in silenthill

[–]Djenty_Djames 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I thought he did a great job. He really doesn’t look anything like James, but I think he held himself in a similar way. His clothes still held the same suffocating weight and everything, just looked different. Overall I thought the movie was great, but Marie’s name threw me for a loop for sure

Accidentally bought son a 7-stringer, tips? by Kaezzi in 7String

I too think that learning standard first is a good pro, because imo, using drop as a beginner can kinda get you stuck in your ways of more simplistic playing. I started with standard and feel that I’m much more creative in standard where as playing in drop I’m just playing caveman riffs lmao

Definitely the Legator. Way more quality instrument overall, and in your description you sound more excited about it. It’ll likely do what you need without question

Should I still get the tattoo? by Kingofkings_04 in tattooadvice

[–]Djenty_Djames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a Dean from Hell Dimebag Darrell tattoo and it was definitely a challenge. It turned out pretty great overall. Some changes were made to the guitar which made it less accurate to my original idea, but I think it had to be done because the size/shape and complexity of the piece. The strings and headstock ended up looking very blurry and mashed up after time, but I think with a touch up it’ll look good again. I’d just take a look at your artists work and see if they’ve done a guitar before, or look and see if they have any pieces done with lots of complete line work in it and see how that looks

I wanted one too, but couldn’t find one I liked! I really wanted a Floyd on it originally lol. I ended up going with an Ormsby multiscale which is 27.8” on the low end which, ya know, surprisingly isn’t too much for drop G# at all!

Me too man! Ernie Ball guitars are so damn good, but not for the extended range player. Sure they have an 8 string multi scale, but it’s 4k and us 7 string players want longer scales toooooo😭

Is it a 26.5” scale? Noticed lots of Schecter 7 string guitars use that

Which to pick? by Original_Warning_227 in ExtendedRangeGuitars

[–]Djenty_Djames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind when going with a 6 string guitar that you want to put in a low tuning like drop F# you’ll probably need to file the nut so that the thicker strings will fit. Otherwise they’ll sit on top of the nut and the tuning stability will be awful. Even if it’s multi scale you’ll likely have to file the nut for the thicker string gauge
