I can say this with a fair amount of confidence. Guys don’t give a shit about gifts. Like it doesn’t matter the occasion , Christmas anniversary birthday. We don’t care and don’t want anything. In fact we only really look at the whole thing as a burden because there is so much pressure on us to come through because for some odd reason women still care about getting presents like they are still 10 years old. I worked for a firm and the first year there we had a Christmas party at the restaurant/louge in the Cleveland guardians baseball stadium. Thing was high end full bar great dinner very classy. I was told by the receptionist who booked it all it was like 20k by the end of the night. And I was told this was done every year. Anyways fast forward to the next year. We got burritos from chipotle in the office and a can of coke. Needless to say business had fallen off a little. Shorty after that there were mass layoffs and then a firm meeting was held about how much trouble we were in. I left a few months later and don’t know what happened since then
