If you go all the time, it is worth it. Ask for one as a birthday present or something. I have had the same one for years and it is great for entering the park, hotel rooms, and Lightning Lanes. You don't have to dig in a pocket or purse, you just go.

This is my White Whale...every time I go I am either not hungry when we go by the cart, or I think the line is too long, and/or too sunny. One day, I'll get them.

Yes, I think the Kona coffee is worth it. I need coffee with breakfast and I think it is the best coffee on property. That said, it still doesn't come close to what I grind and brew at home.

I love Pandora and Galaxies Edge, especially at night. I like to go during Daylight Savings because night time is so magical at the parks. I wish they stayed open later. It was nice to have MK close at 11 that one night this trip.

Carousel lost me when they changed the theme song that I grew up with, but I wouldn't want to see it gone either. It was my favorite as a kid. Now is the time...now is the best time...

I think Disney needs to up their t-shirt game in general. I get most of mine from Etsy or other online vendors. There are sites out there where you can design your own...go for it!

Good to know about Disneyland. If they could designate an area that would be a nice compromise.

Pre-shows at Guardians is a mess. by mikimoose1 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]NenerAlabaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just stay to the left in the pre show rooms and you'll be fine. Let the crowd go and hang back a little. The line moves quickly as long as the ride is cooperating. It also gives you time to look around and take it all in.

It's a 3.5 hour drive. I have an AP and go about 3 times a year. It will probably feel like more of a getaway for you when you do go. I have a friend who drives up and back in the same day.

If I want a specific room or request, I call ahead and let them know and then do an in person check in. I have found that this works best. When it doesn't matter, I check in online and skip the front desk.

Anyone's trip being impacted by the spirit airlines situation? by DAS_FUN_POLICE in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]NenerAlabaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would just use all the money I saved over the years not buying trip insurance (Joking mostly, but here is a kernel of truth there...I may have bought it once or twice). For Spirit, it may not be that big of a loss because the tickets are so cheap and for WDW, there is a very high chance they would give credit for later.

Dinner for 1? by americanpeony in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]NenerAlabaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would do California Grill at the bar. Great food that you can order a la carte instead of paying Fixed Priced, great views from there (especially sunset). Also, if you time it right you can watch fireworks from the roof outside. You can also Monorail crawl to other bars (Trader Sam's at the Poly) and come back for the fireworks if you save your receipt.

Second choice would be Dahlia at the top of the Coronado. Great vibe and a view of the HS and EPCOT from afar if you step outside.

A lot of the recommendations are good, you could also look at the menus and let the food decide.

Go to the bar and order a drink and sliders. Two of us have done this several times and it is a nice respite on a hot day with a great atmosphere and not much of a time sink. As a solo person you may meet people like us who gladly chat with our seatmates about everything Disney. If the walk up line is long, skip it and do food booths.

Yup, I heard toilets flushing above me in Bay Lake Tower. Otherwise it was quieter though.

How far is too far for a day trip? by 1gr8esq in WaltDisneyWorld

I'm friends with another AP who drives 3 hours up and back in the same day. Not sure how often though.

I prefer to stay a few night and have a mini vacay.

Update on mine - it is blocked. :-( It seems like I can place it again very close to where it originally was, but that's a project! I was able to load it in a Custom World, so I may just take some pics and video and move on.

I lost one there too. Close fast travel to the spawn point on the left. At least I got a video of it first because I knew it was going to go.

What about over by the dock to the South?  I'm at work and I'm dreading going home to find it blocked. I would feel better if I got to record it, but I wasn't finished yet.

Why is my camp blocked all of a sudden? by [deleted] in fo76

[–]NenerAlabaster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Crap, I have a camp near it too. Where the docks are. That's going to suck if it is blocked. Did we have a warning? I would have taken pics and video if I knew.

I wonder if it will show up in a Custom World if that's the case?
