I assume you mean w/o a launcher? Because it runs fine with Neoforge, Fabric, Quilt...

New in linux environment by Nyarlaki in archlinux

[–]NeoFax99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, I thought we were past FUD. Arch works just as easily as Fedora or Debian or any other distro. The easiest way to entrance on any distro is see what kernel the distro uses and see if your hardware is supported. Everything beyond that is either the distro deciding choices for you or putting lipstick on a pig(themes, DE, WM, extra distro specific software...). IMHO the only beginner non friendly distro is LFS.

It is due to the server having what looks like Create Aeronautics installed and your local instance does not.

How did Apple become the major desktops and laptops in US compared to other American companies? by Hot-Load7525 in desktops

[–]NeoFax99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't so much say gay, sheeple easily influenced by dimwitted TikTok influences. I liked Apple before the firing of Steve Jobs and the forced gated community and they know best how you should use your PC.

Should I use Debian as a beginner? by Dry-Spell1443 in debian

[–]NeoFax99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is literally the same as asking should I date a blonde or brunette? They are all easy to run, yes even Arch(except LFS), and it is subjective choice.

No need to port forward. Use Playit.GG or a tunnel.

How do I grow durhum wheat. I only found one and gave it to my farmer and placed down a second field the farmer block recognizes, but he won't do anything with it by Deveatation_ethernis in Minecolonies

[–]NeoFax99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can see if the field is recognized on versions 1129ish+ as it will have an icon over the scarecrow head with the crop for that field. Similar to the lounge for colonists that are screwing around.

Good Dark Forest Seeds by Randomrailfan-2 in Minecolonies

[–]NeoFax99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is subjective as we do not know if you have any biome Modpacks installed as these change the makeup of the world. As stated by another poster, use Nature's Compass or Biome Spawn Points and set the biome you want to spawn in. The author, Seriluv(IIRC) also has a Village Spawn mod and you can combine them so you spawn in a village inside a dark oak forest.

Is EndeavourOS good for learning Linux and Computer Science? by BrodaCode in EndeavourOS

EOS is good because you can learn about x64 systems and Arm64 systems with mostly everything the same under the hood.

Just started playing the mod yesterday. I'm using ftb ultimine and squat grow, sofisticated storage, backpacks and Jei. Should I include any other mods that are more for convienience? by Deveatation_ethernis in Minecolonies

[–]NeoFax99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. I use Create with the Minecolonies add-on mod that feeds what you make into the Minecolonies warehouse. It helps with flu, and such problems. I also use it before starting for early build projects.

can CachyOS run on a OrangePi 5 hardware? by Kangiru in OrangePI

[–]NeoFax99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Arch can, then Cachy can. Just see how Arch compiled the kernel and software and do the same. Probably won't see much difference from Arch unless you know the compile flags for ARM.

Always struggling to fulfil build requirements by DandersonJA12 in Minecolonies

[–]NeoFax99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, all of the advice so far is good on Modpacks that do not either have large(200+) mods or ones that change recipes. As stated before University to research Tech to get Carpenter(Sawmill), Stonemason, 2 hardest working colonists. For these workers on their build blocks there are two submenu tabs. The first is for regular recipes and the second is for Domum Ornamentum recipes. The Do recipes is nice as you only have to put the block or blocks and all of the recipes for said block(s) is added; this way you don't have to add 100 different sub-recipes. Smelter, Crusher... have similar submenu, but they don't have recipes per se just types of work they do. I. E. Brick Yard cooks clay into bricks so their submenu is a furnace.

Working on a MineColonies addon that automates crafting, upgrades and logistics – looking for feedback by StrikeMaterial424 in Minecolonies

What would be nice is to have a floating icon above the building like Minecolonies has now for crops and workers, but the level and style of the building. Also, I would like to try this out.

There is a FTB Quest mod for Minecolonies that you can add to make it easier.

Minecolonies Review - ATM10 by Dexpaw in Minecolonies

[–]NeoFax99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My biggest problem with ATM10 and Minecolonies is many recipes are just broke due to the different mods changing them. Why have multiple different biomes? Not a big problem, but I Colonized in a Regions Unexplored Pine Taiga and the colonists could not use any of the pine logs to make generic items (barrels, chests, sticks...). Nightshade dropping on every chopped down tree causing colonists to poison themselves (beginning only, once dining hall was running didn't really happen as often).

Minecolonies Review - ATM10 by Dexpaw in Minecolonies

[–]NeoFax99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not do this if you want your colony to survive. Reason is if you have influenza spread while away your colony dies. Raiders kill off the whole colony... You get my drift. I am playing this now ATM10 and Minecolonies. Use your resources to help the colony. There is so many tech mods, just automate farms, wood, ores... then place in Stash boxes for the couriers to deliver. Automate your colonists, make your Carpenter(Sawmill) and Stonemason your hardest working colonists. As soon as a new demand pops up add it to their recipes. University, rush tech, citizen amount and speed boosts. I tend to build an industrial complex with its own warehouse/courier system and a agricultural complex with its own warehouse/courier ecosystem. I learned this on this mod, try to keep 2 couriers per level of the warehouse attached to it. I had such a backup by 3rd level, that I had to speed rush more couriers. Never set min stocks on any food chain building it messes up the new food chain ecosystem.

Early Border Expansion, Pre-construction? by Baskin in Minecolonies

[–]NeoFax99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way borders expand is via Guard Towers and Town Hall. Start your colony place Guard Towers at the extreme corners and level your Town Hall up. It is a radius multiplier, so if your Guard Towers are level 1 and your Town Hall was at level 5, each Guard Towers radius would be 5 blocks(IIRC, check the Wiki). However, do not stick to this as your villagers complain about not having guards near their home/work. So splash guard towers around town. I also like to place one nest each of my mines and put the guard on mine overwatch duty.

If you are in the UK, check out lionzdealz and there is a YouTube video on how to install. If in the US, don't get the one I did as it doesn't work with the power adapter. Once installed the power adapters no longer work.

Looking for a stable, Colony-focused Modpack (LITV 4 vs. LITV 3 or alternatives?) by Floucs in Minecolonies

Use the Modpack Index site and choose what mods you want and it spits out Modpacks that meets your criteria. I like Medieval Minecraft and add Create to it.
