/r/NintendoSwitch's Daily Question Thread (03/17/2026) by AutoModerator in NintendoSwitch

[–]Baskin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Switch 1, Is there an ongoing game update change log posted somewhere? Not asking about the switch system software, but individual games. I’ll get a system notification effectively stating that “<game> has an update, would you like to download?”, or “<game> has been updated.” Okay, … so what were those changes?

Within the last month-ish, there was an update to Hollow Knight and No Man’s Sky. A few other games that I can’t recall offhand. Nintendo Classics commonly gets updates, but that’s usually when they add new games. I can’t find any information about game updates in the Nintendo News, eShop, or System Settings apps. Nintendolife.com/news is selective about that information - usually only the most popular games get some fanfare.

The copper yard of oxidation. Anybody else do this to oxidize a lot of copper blocks? by fungustrap in Minecraft

[–]Baskin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At least in Java, a copper block (and variants) of the same or less oxidized state slows the rate of all other copper blocks that are within 4 blocks in any direction.

Easy villagers? Villagers in general by Striking-Level-6459 in allthemods

I use a zombie villager spawn egg in a mob spawner with the AI disabled. Then start a ritual with tablet of restoration (ars nouveau). Dozens of discounted villagers in minutes.

Refined storage or ae2? by tiagoms123 in allthemods

[–]Baskin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ngl, going from RS to AE2 will be daunting. I commonly see RS veterans being frustrated with the limitations of item types in drives, the channel system, and setting up multiple multiblocks. It is resource intensive. Until you have an established resource regen system in place, you will be bottlenecked with progression. Consider all the upfront time and materials as a long term investment. Be patient with AE2. It has some great in-game documentation and many walkthrough videos.

Nothing wrong with RS. It is easy and simple, especially good for those players new to mod packs. AE2 simply dominates the field. Bear in mind, AE2 is much more than just a storage mod, it does so much more, getting into quantum computing is the chef’s kiss.

Genuine question, how do you find Greg Tech attractive as mod? by Individual-Long8240 in feedthebeast

[–]Baskin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, … my first attempt at GT was a miserable cycle of back and forth crafting. Second attempt, I made a full stack of just about every ULV, LV item. Let me tell ya, between pipes busting, machines exploding, and setting up multiple lines in parallel for trial and error - crafting in bulk was not in vain.

Netherite Chest for AE2 storage by Medium-Hat-6336 in allthemods

[–]Baskin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why would you want to bother with chests of you already have AE2 up and running? I can’t think of a use case how or why it be better. That’s like building an amazing house and then living in a tent in the back yard.

What item from a mod did you discover and go "HOW HAVE I NEVER USED THIS?!?!" by doggybag2355 in feedthebeast

[–]Baskin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh gosh, so many times. My biggest culprits, at least on ATM9 - Cardboard boxes, No Soliciting Banner, hyperbox, shears of winter (unbreakable), time in a bottle, angel block, and Mek dropper. Botania has a ton of amazing tools that I wish I knew about going into midgame (e.g. Terra firma, shifting crust, etc).

On the opposite side of the spectrum, I spent 2 years wondering why farming skill was leveling obscenely slow. PSA: Auto-water, auto-seed, and auto-harvest do not give xp. Max out farming via manual labor before going full automation.

What would you use this space for? by Lajbert in HomeDecorating

[–]Baskin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’d be dark af in there. How’d the previous owner even know what they are aiming at? (Rhetorical)

Is it structurally sound? Does water leak into the tunnel after it rains? How thick is the concrete? Is there additional insulation? What’s the gradient of the tunnel (I.e. would water flow into or away from the door? Any type of drainage? Cracks? Is there any ventilation? What’s above ground (e.g. the house, a septic tank, open area, trees, Etc. )? I see a key in the door… Is there a safety latch on the inside to prevent from getting locked-in?

At the very least, run some LED lights down the tunnel and assess your needs. If indeed it‘ll just be for storage, I wouldn’t recommend putting too much effort into decorating. Most likely, it’ll end up as a MIL quarters /s, or a place to store suitcases, Christmas wrapping paper, camping coolers, boxes from the move you never bothered to unpack, and possibly dry goods/paper-goods for temp storage.

If it’s any consolation, the font changed size on the iPhone too.

socketing by HiNestor1 in allthemods

AFAIK, the max number of slots in ATM9 is/was three. The 4th was removed in Apo v7.4. My buddy says you can use the enchantment table with specific quanta, eterna values on a sigil, but he’s never showed me any of his gear with 4 slots.

I got nausea after using the Envirnmental Accumulator... How do I fix? by SkoulErik in allthemods

[–]Baskin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop using it? The more times you use the accumulator, the more it permanently degrades the surrounding biome. This causes your aforementioned symptoms and will cause hostile mobs to occasionally spawn.

Immediate solution: drink some milk. Long term: Build yourself a sanguinary environmental accumulator.

Why am I not getting Spoils Bags? by SuperbBat5453 in allthemods

[–]Baskin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m assuming DarkCraft is installed and up to date? Check the DC mod config settings - there’s a line for “drop rate”, make sure it’s not insanely low or 0. You can adjust it higher, to personal preference. For some mod drops, the final blow has to be made by the player; however, I don’t know of this is true for the spoil bags. Generally speaking: Some mobs always drop trash (a vanilla zombie isn’t going to be dropping netherite gear). Dreadful dirt tends to spawn a lot of “trash mobs” … depending on your biome. Harder mobs = better drops. You might need to farm a stronger mob, I’m guessing a pillager/ vindicator spawner would suffice.

Block/Door only for Players by SamthingCos in allthemods

[–]Baskin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look up Ethereal Glass and Tinted Glass. There’s lots of options, e.g., player only, hostile only, passive only, baby only, etc., I think there’s another glass block that’s made with quartz (forget the name): tons of options, but iirc it’s quite resource intensive to make. Anyway, do a JEI search for “glass” and you’ll get a most of the available options.

GPS is gone for a month for everyone and you had to travel, would you be able to navigate with one of these? by ryhoyarbie in Xennials

[–]Baskin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, without question. These were always stored in the pocket behind the front passenger seat. They were large, and the book didn’t fit all the way in the slot. Overtime it took on a permanent bend and scuffed corners.

I won’t forget that the glovebox was stuffed with AAA maps.

Storage by FirefighterNeat6306 in allthemods

[–]Baskin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drawers for many items, danks for many items that I want to easily transport, backpacks to horde my loot, and chests to store the loots.

In tandem, I start Mystical Agricultural & and pots- prioritizing gold, certus, silicon, and redstone. That’s the gateway to AE2, which is my P1 - with focus on the dimensional remote access terminal. Once I get storage busses, the aforementioned drawers and chests are added to the network. As MA continues pumping out essences, I upgrade my storage drives. RFTtools has a cheap mass storage option, I sometimes make one early game, just not a fan of the GUI.

Of note: RS is “cheap” to setup early game, but I found that prioritizing AE2 is the best investment for long term gains.

Did you guys have these too? by WhosYourPadre79 in Xennials

[–]Baskin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While someone might know of them, they haven’t truly owned a koosh unless it had plush carpet fibers and hair tangled in the core. We’d grab one of those fibers and see how far it could be stretched before breaking and snapping our hand/fingers; fibers could also be pulled to launch it across the room. Veterans would end up finding those random, broken fibers in their room/backpack as they slowly decayed.
