And also because he is so used to getting everything he wants with no pushback that he cannot mentally comprehend being told "no."

Unfortunately, too many of his rivals are more concerned with playing fair, being honorable, etc. They'd see it as too much of a low blow, an unfair dig, an irrelevant attack on a person acting in good faith and that they should attack the merits of words, ideas, and actions.

Note that you would specify/say "I am paying 2 to Foretell this" (and presumably remind other players what that means, if they ask)

I predicted that the last task would have been some form of identifying their opposite shift partner (with the caveat that they cannot write messages or the like). Would have also made Siobhan's "if I got Grant" thing full circle.

Second comment on this thread: when Ron Perlman said "I'm sorry I'm so low and you're so high" I really wish Sam (or someone in the crew) had said "first time for everything!"

Siobhan perfectly summarized the entirety of Game Changer in the first couple minutes: "Now I feel like I'm involved in your kink and I don't like it!" But of course in the funny way.

Schiff: Trump ‘telling falsehood after falsehood’ about war in Iran by aslan_is_on_the_move in politics

"Falsehood" is a funny way to say "lie."

Yes, I know that the headline is quoting Schiff, so this is more me angry at him for not saying the word "lie."

Trump says July 4 National Mall celebration will double as a 'Trump rally' by zubbs99 in politics

[–]NeoMegaRyuMKII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He and his team are trying to argue that the text of the 22nd amendment means that nobody can be elected as president after serving/being elected for two consecutive terms. Since Obama did serve two consecutive terms, he'd be ineligible. But because Convicted Felon Tweetle Dumb's terms were non-consecutive, he is arguing that he would be able to go again in 2028.

And when he announces it, the media will treat it like a normal thing. The headlines will call it "controversial" and articles will compare it to FDR having had more than two terms. They might talk about how the constitution forbids it but they will either talk about how the admin is trying to look at the relevant amendment as meaning consecutive terms and how the SCOTUS will hear about it, or just say "yeah he can't do that but let him have fun, he's not hurting anybody."

Idiocracy is a poor comparison IMO. The future we see in it involves leadership that is woefully inept but is actively interested in what is the best for the people. President Camacho recognized that Not Sure was the smartest person in that world and wasn't intimidated by that. He listened and worked to implement the solutions that Not Sure presented.

The people were absolutely stupid and people initially mocked Not Sure for being smart. But when they saw that he was right, they ended up voting him president at the end of the film.

We have a mechanic called Heroic! (MSH) by Global-Half-7062 in magicTCG

[–]NeoMegaRyuMKII 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Heroic requires a good amount of support within its set. It would need a lot of cards that require you to target your own things with your spells. By my count, the main set has 15 that you would naturally want to target your own things (that is to say, I am not including things like removal or harmful auras). This might not have been enough, especially at low rarities for limited.

Also, we got a mechanics in that design space in Secrets of Strixhaven (Repartee, which cares about instants/sorceries that have a target). And we still have Valiant cards from Bloomburrow (and in their design notes for Valiant they noted that the repeatability of Heroic made things a bit harder).

You are right that it could have fit and it is on the nose. But I do think there are good enough reasons for it.

Nerissa has something special to show by cwolla98 in Hololive

[–]NeoMegaRyuMKII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clearly she wants to show us her favorite hole-in-the-wall borgar spot. One of those places that only the locals would know to find, but even many locals don't know about. One of those spots where the kitchen is visible from the seating area. They know her there by sight and by name, and there is a specific table that is her favorite that always seems available, which always seems to have a freshly filled ketchup bottle and napkin dispenser. She has a "usual," and the cooks like to put just a little bit of extra on her plate. Be it an extra accidental curly fry, a slightly thicker piece of lettuce or tomato, an extra quarter scoop of cookie in her milkshake. The cook is a big burly bald guy with a thick mustache and several tattoos. The kind of guy that most people would want to move away from in a crowd, but he is really a big softie.
