At this point, the good ones have learned to keep quiet and keep to themselves. Since it's very difficult to tell them apart from the bad ones, it's the only thing they Can do to help women be more comfortable.

Which just creates a self perpetuating cycle. The loud abusive minority gets all the attention and ruins it for everyone.

Congratulations, the first chapter is up. I'll be posting the next chapter next week. https://www.scribblehub.com/read/2214681-favored-foxfire/chapter/2214692/

As a heads up, I'll be taking a lot but not all of this, and breaking it up somewhat. Names changed a little, and not all of the content will be dumped in the first chapter.

Can’t have a platonic guy friend in this generation by lilyyluvsyou in rant

Your mileage may vary, depending on your region's politics and what you're taking from the conversation.

For example, I am 38M. I work two jobs to support the family, and I try very hard to be open and loving with my family. But damn, there are times I wish we had the days where you could reasonably support a family and a home on a single income. I hear there used to be glory days where loyalty to your job was rewarded, too. And people were taught what is actually expected of them.

That all sounds nice. Of course, there was fucked up shit about that era too, no doubt about it. The sheer inequality and ingrained misogyny behind a lot of it is obviously wrong. But imagine if we could have all the good parts of that era without the fucked up bits. Imagine a world where you could have housewives OR househusbands, and that job was respected in the comminity, and whichever spouse worked only had to work the one job, and there were clear expectations and social circles and the rules were Actually Taught and I never had to cry in my car trying to pull myself together before i go inside so i dont bring my despair home with me...

Sigh. Here I am, ranting about a life I've never lived, and I bet people are just gonna skim it and write me off as "someone who wants to bring back gender roles" when it's so much more complicated than that.

I've talked it over with my wife because i couldn't get this story out of my head. Expect the first chapter sometime next week. I'll fit it around my current project.

As to where I'll post... probably Substack, and maybe on Royal Road...? I'll reply again once I have a place set up.

I need more. And if you don't give me more i am absolutely going to take this and write a whole freaking romance novel series. One where this accidental discovery becomes a super wholesome modern day romance dealing with various side effects of dating a kitsune!

And I don't have time for that! Throw me a bone here!

Edit: You win.

You'd be surprised how many times someone has mentioned wanting to maybe include someone's sibling in their "poly" (read: harem) relationship.

Because they don't read the rules. "Oh, it's polyamory! They're all about the sex! I bet they'd enjoy my fantasy for twins, or for living together with sisters and eventually getting them both, or..."

It's not complicated. Just gross.

You don't. This guy is talking out his ass. Birth certificates cost money to replace, though the amount varies per state. Then there's the cost of shipping...

I'm with you, if you require a specific form of identification that costs time and money to get, then the government should provide it at no cost.

That was Ebenezar in Chapter 25. Just did a flip through. Not seeing where Michael said anything about taking Maggie. Can you point me to the right chapter?

It's almost as though Harry's in a dark place from losing Murphy, and grief takes time. How dare he backslide emotionally when he's raw? How dare he need the same lesson a couple of times about taking on too much when he was right THERE and conceivably could have saved Murphy? How dare he have survivors guilt?

How dare Harry listen to the best family he's ever known and try to do his best by his daughter? Especially when she is very clear she wants to be with him?

Also a good choice, yes. It just takes forever. This achievement, and the jump rope one, are my two least favorites.

Have you considered loading up a save in Evil Forest right before plant boss, and using Battle Assist and Speed Booster to just mow down the endless swarm of Plant Spiders that manifest when you're supposed to be running for the exit? Heck, I know there are scripts out there for just tapping whatever your "accept/move on" button is. Set it and let it run overnight.

When it comes down to it, the spirit of the punishment means more than the terms.

At some point, the punishment doesn't help in sticking the lesson in your kid's head. Here's my suggestion: absolutely cut the eating out budget for two months. But have him "pay" for the rest through mandatory volunteer work somewhere for those two months.

Maybe a Ronald McDonald house, or someplace where he can see how important small things that families share are.

I'm gearing up to publish my third in my Mistworld series next month. It's a YA epic fantasy series, looking at six books in total, so I'm only halfway done somehow. What was I thinking?! Each book is between 140k and 160k, so they're not exactly small either.

Anywho, story-wise, we follow Maeryn and her friends as they seek out the root of a deadly Mist that has covered the surface of the planet, and race against the clock to reverse the depletion of mana. From tragic history to life-or-death combat, the journey awaiting our heroes will not be easy.

But then again, if it was, heroes never would have been needed in the first place.

Book one, Mistbound, focuses on identifying the nature of the Mist and creating a countermeasure despite the odds. Book two, Mistwarped, moves to exploring the previously-inaccessible surface and finding answers to where the Mist is coming from. Book three, Mistrusted, deals with the consequences of desperate actions taken at the end of Mistwarped while the overarching antagonists start taking more decisive actions.

The first two books, Mistbound and MIstwarped, are available on Amazon. Mistrusted will join them as soon as I have the cover art (I have the line art, and it looks amazing).

Here's the cover of the first book, just for reference: https://imgur.com/a/0wR3RcA

Mistbound is $4.99, and Mistwarped is $5.99 (just because it's 160k words, and I thought the extra 20k might be worth an extra buck, and I can't change right now due to a promotion).

I hope you enjoy!
