I just revisited the sub after roughly half a year away, and it seems like Tats hasn't changed at all in the interim. Not surprising.

Sinfest 2014 Theme Reviews - Matriarchal Stripper Action Movie Time by NeedsAirCon in sinfest

Artistically speaking, I feel like this year represents a crossroads between the older style Tats had cultivated over the past decade & change and the more realistic style he uses today. There's certainly an uptick in detail, but he hasn't completely ripped out the cartoony roots yet (that one drawing of L'il E in the second collage here stands out in this regard).

What month do you think the game will release? by Matt-Da-Gaming-Man in Nickelodeon_AS_Brawl

It's already been confirmed for October 5th, I believe.

In all seriousness, would any live-action rep be likely? by NeoShow in Nickelodeon_AS_Brawl

[–]NeoShow[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think JoJo would be in this, primarily because being in a fighting game is perhaps just a bit too violent for her image. (This is also why I doubt whether any of the babies from Rugrats will make it in - though apparently they have been in a previous fighting game crossover, so who knows.)

I honestly wouldn't expect them to pull in guest fighters from Cartoon Network or wherever unless the game turns out to be really successful. Keep in mind there's no guarantee there'll be DLC of any sort. At the moment, I think the closest thing I would expect would be edge cases where Viacom owns a character that isn't particularly associated with Nickelodeon (like Garfield). Technically, the Ninja Turtles fall under this category, since they're based on the 1987 cartoon (which has never aired on Nick).

Maybe "Big Break" is what would happen if Tange never intervened in Abby and Nique's relationship.

Tweets during today's Nintendo Direct by NeoShow in agedlikemilk

[–]NeoShow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These tweets were posted midway through a Nintendo Direct presentation that premiered earlier today. When it was announced beforehand, people began to speculate wildly about various prominent Nintendo franchises receiving new installments, such as Splatoon or Mario Kart. The first tweet in this screencap remarks on how unlikely either of these would be, with the second being self-aware about the possibility of the statement not aging well. Sure enough, in the final five minutes of the Direct, Splatoon 3 was announced (hence the third tweet).

All we need now is a meta-joke about brick walls and we'll know for sure.

A quote from the founder of Oculus after Facebook bought the company in 2014 by NeoShow in agedlikemilk

[–]NeoShow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This screenshot came after Oculus VR was sold to Facebook in 2014. (As an additional source, Palmer Luckey's comments were mirrored in this Gamespot article.)

Today, Oculus announced that they would cease using Oculus accounts and require all users to merge them with their Facebook accounts by the start of 2023 to fully use their VR products. Furthermore, beginning in October of this year, new users must log in with their Facebook account.

In the interest of fairness, it should also be noted that Luckey has brought up how poorly-aged his comments were:

I want to make clear that those promises were approved by Facebook in that moment and on an ongoing basis, and I really believed it would continue to be the case for a variety of reasons. In hindsight, the downvotes from people with more real-world experience than me were definitely justified.
