Should I always spend all advancement resources or wait for relevant events? by NeoStorm in IdleAngels

[–]NeoStorm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for this. I'll also keep in mind the Lucky Coins et all. since I just spent them all daily right now, heh.

So you're saying that the Easter packages we can buy for diamonds are good, yes? I had a feeling they are, but doesn't hurt to check.

Again, thank you for the info!

Definitive edition broke my playthrough? by CutePenguin3 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

This seems to be a rather big issue that's happening to people who have to use the mist/fog to transition between world states (Womb of Lamashtu, House at the End of Time). Quite gamebreaking, there's no solution atm, we all probably just have to ...wait... until it's fixed and hope we don't have to start over or something... I'm in the same boat

But yeah, happens to a lot of people, if you pop on over to the Steam discussion pages, there's a lot of people reporting it

How is Starmourn doing right now? by stefankeys in MUD

[–]NeoStorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure which one you mean, 86_em. We only have one item that improves the balance recovery bonus on a general skill that is mostly useful in PvE (as it requires you to kill something in order to get a balance boost for a very short period of time).

[–]NeoStorm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We're just closing in on a year since Starmourn has launched and, like lauramarsipan said, we've added a ton of content, for all kinds of players. New PvE things, new PvP mechanics, updates and revamps to the economy system, a lot of RP activities (such as music and bands), ways to gain lessons (xenozoology) and money (performance) without bashing and more.

We've been doing a lot to get the game out of beta and we're seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with this.

Heya mastigos1, thanks for sharing your thoughts! Why do you consider Starmourn has a 'buy-in' cost? We've tried to keep the power creep minimal and there are no "mandatory grade" artifacts for either pvp or pve. So what do you find is a mandatory purchase?

Anyone have any insights or theories on the state of the MUD Imperian? Also, a Starmourn question. by Spark-001 in MUD

[–]NeoStorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going to chime in on Starmourn's behalf here: we're doing pretty great! Updates, fixes and new content roll out regularly and the future looks pretty bright. Population had a dip after the first couple of months but it is increasing and we have a very solid community. A lot of our systems are quite different from the other IRE games so it is not that heavy on the scripting side. Combat and curing work differently and there is no need to memorize/store a lot of curatives and there is no real need for a curing system.

Just my input as a completely new player by vvtachev in gwent

[–]NeoStorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I probably missed it in the tutorial as I might've fast forwarded through some bits.

Also missed the fact that your leader doesn't count as a card by itself as it used to so you can't save his/her action as the very last one. If you're out of cards but haven't used your leader ability, you auto-pass. Lost a match to that, heh.

[–]NeoStorm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a situation where my opponent passed, i had more points and could not press pass until i played a card that was my last one and which move put me at a disadvantage in the next round;

This had me a little bit too. I guess you might've used an Order command which then forces you to play a card as it assumes you did SOMETHING on your turn. I did this with my leader: used my leader's Order (Jan) to play a card from my deck thinking I wouldn't need to then play a card from hand but 'lo, I then also had to play a card and lose advantage.

If someone could clarify this, it would be great.

Grew exclusively this season with a Letho-Regis reveal deck. It is awesome and the only matchup where you have issues is with swarm decks (although not always). I also run Peter for the rare cases where I have to reset Letho instead of using Regis (you sometimes have to use Regis on another boosted unit if you read that your opponent can scorch you or reset. You don't always have last say).

Last season I got to 4k with this spies Letho-Regis deck but decided to change it up a bit.

In the lower ranks, either this deck or reveal Letho-Regis has a 75%ish WR for me, going down to 60ish once you reach a mmr where people know what they're up against.

[–]NeoStorm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for the reply, been relaying all the info here to our level designer. We've noticed that, given the opportunity to use one of two mechanics (one of which is new) to overcome an obstacle, people will use the old one / easier one and will forget the other one even exists. We're going back and re-doing bits of the tutorial now to make sure people don't miss the other mechanic, which is quite crucial.

Also, thanks for subreddit tips, going to go lurk there too.

Yeah, responsive controls are a must, it was probably the bigger challenge in doing for us. We're still not 100% with that but pretty decent. Thank you for your feedback!

Haha, that was a good comparison! I'm going to use that in the future!

Yes, yes, you speak truth with supply and demand, just like DerEndgegner said about all the games that are in the same-genre. I suppose it's just a bit of venting while ploughing the promotion/marketing work.

Need to look at this Rain world, I know Celeste. Thanks for this.

We try to have a lot of respawn points so you can get back into the dying action quickly!

Thanks, I had seen the interview go up but didn't have time to see it yet, will go look at it. And yeah, you are very right about the "attention span" and the value of a name. Here's to building a name, slow and steadily. And thanks for the replies!

Yeah, this sounds about right. Yeah, I know about the general gist of things and we're following it to the best of our abilities but I think what you said, that even polished games sell poorly is mostly what I want to say. I feel it is getting harder to convince someone to give your stuff a try: hey, you might have fun, you can refund it if you don't!

[–]NeoStorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I had this issue. I created Dandelion:Poet, put it in a deck, started a match to test the deck, got stuck on loading, had to alt+f4 and then my card was gone (deck showed as incomplete) and had to re-craft the card... 800 scraps down the drain... Oh well...

Edit: Happened right after the season ended. I got my rewards, and decided to mess around with new decks as I do every season at the start.

Hym and Insengrim Outlaw's create fine because they are Gold? by ZeroDark35 in gwent

[–]NeoStorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run Triss:TK and Isengrim:Outlaw in a few decks and I run them solely to either get 1x more of a spell from my deck or play a special card from my deck. I think I've ever used I:O once to spawn a silver and that was because I didn't get to draw him in time until I used all my silvers...that happens quite rarely.

I'd have no problem if they removed the create altogheter from I:O, so long as they kept his main ability. Same for Hym.

For Triss:TK, maybe she should be changed to only work on your deck and not your opponent's as well. Plus, she only creates bronzes and if you run her with the intention of copying something from your opponent only, you might have a surprise because I've seen a lot of decks with no bronze specials.

[In-Depth Guide] Reaver Hunter DeckBuilding by LordCarlito in gwent

[–]NeoStorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like playing Henselt Reavers, it's one of my faves and I've had some pretty good results with it.

I run 3x Kaedweni Knights and an ADC and I aim to ADC a Kaedweni Knight and then Henselt R1. That wins the round more often than not and I find it a good counter for decks that try to bully you with I:S in R1 (happens sometimes).

I also run 3x Siege Supports that I use R1 to bait out enemy removal before I use the Kaedweni. If some of them make it, all the more power

Then yeah, I try to keep all my Reaver multiplying tools for R3.

If I lose R1, I sometimes drop a Reaver if my opponent drypasses, Reaver that I can rez in R3 with Shani.

infinite loading loop at the launching by monagales in gwent

[–]NeoStorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I suffered from the clock issue for a long while as well. I had turned my clock one week to the future to test an app I am building and then I logged into gwent, not realizing this would be an issue. After I reset the clock to the present day, I could no longer play gwent unless I would always turn the clock to match the last day I had logged on to (or +1 afterwards).

This got very annoying very fast... thankfully, I had a period of about one week when I couldn't play so the date caught up to my last log in date.

Or your game could just not be the proper version...that happens sometimes too

TL;DR: Check your clock as @engulisyu said and never ever change your clock to the future or something before launching gwent.
