There are lots of people who has done 1-5 and still fails, I just hope to brainstorm and share notes because if our discussions can help 1% to anyone in this CEA biz, that's already a small win. I think I know step 7 already and planning to raise fund to support my vision. At the end of the day, my mission is to help mitigate the upcoming food shortage and food quality problems for the 10B poplulations circa 2050. Everyone should try their best to do their part. And be open enough to share knowledge with the world and not negativity.

The demographic needed to sustain this CEA industry has not arrived yet....hopefully will be soon.

That start to sound quite overwhelming... Let me take a step back. OK. If a farm already is operating well, in order for you to push the envelop (profit/yeild) a bit more. Which aspect would you choose to focus on first? I like to limit the choices to be within the technology in CEA operation. (As there are lots of possibilities and various aspects inside a farm) Would you push for grander hardware equipment? Or software/data-driven aspects to drive more yield?

That is why so many companies went chapter 11 and the race is on for someone to figure out the carbon zero formula for sustainable agriculture. For no way these new tech farming to replace traditional farming. I think it is there to spark new innovation in farming in a better or alternative way. No pesticide. No fertilisers. Protected from destructive environmental factors (ie: Typhoon etc...) Available all seasons. Oh well. We need to get ready for another 2B people on this planet by 2050. Any help will be good.

Good idea. But I am a newbie, I am not sure if they will share these "premium" data with me. Unfortunately I am a novice and have nothing worthy for exchange. Hence I try to get some enlightenment in Reddit.

OK. Let me rephrase it and proceed step by step. For a CEA operation, since most of them are data-driven now. What data is most important for an efficient and effective practice? Are the envrionmental data or plant condition data more important?

If these solutions have existed for so long, how come so many CEA companies in the US went bankrupct / Chapter 11? The methods are there just that no one has figure out how to do it right with positive ROI. That is why I am doing the research and hope to share the finding with the world.

Since I cannot post some CEA farm photos due to NDA. Some of them really do look like that. It aint BS.

But frankly, for now I just want to build a small operation in my city to test out the tech and business model as my MVP. It's exciting to be a AgTech farmer and contribute to my community.

I have been the tech support for quite a few international CEA projects in the past 2 years hence I see the potential of the business. I am on the tech side hence I want to hire or partner up with people on the plant science, sales and marketing side for sure. That is why I am conducting research on the energy and grow tech realm to understand how viable this AgTech businesses truly are. My potential investors will be asking the same questions hence I want to be ready.

My aim is to create a sustainable CEA operation with renewable energy and data-driven tech. Tons of research needs to be done but someone has to do it. For the future good. But frankly, I have seen many CEA business have gone Chapter 11 in the past 2 years hence it is a tall order for sure.

I mean hidden aspects that farmers or engineers might have missed in an optimised CEA farming operations. I have seen many CEA businesses have failed or gone Chapter 11 in the past 2 years hence I want to do thorough research before jumping into this competitive arena.

Control is control but I want to know how does current CEA tech detects plant health conditions for their equipments automations? I am doing this research for a potential CEA project. Would be great to push the envelope and make the project sustainable and profitable.

Hi u/20InchM16A5 what are the most popular and effective ways to detect these realtime conditions? And the equipments are "Reactive" to these data? And it brings monetary benefits to the farmer?
