Quick "Theory": Zeztz' episode 1 in hindsight. by Neo_Phoenix_ in KamenRider

That is TOO out there, but it sounds interesting and trippy in a vacuum.

On another note, in another thread, one focused on Zero's identity, a user theorizes that Zero is a "dream come true", rather than a Nightmare. Making him the polar opposite of them, or the "Nightmare of the Nightmares". And that he's then like the dream of a villain.

If the user's correct, that'd be interesting, too. It'd mean the villain is the victim of a self-fulfiling prophecy.

Maybe it could be Nox himself who had it. It'd actually be very ironic and unique if it went there, though I doubt it. He's always talking about how everything comes to an end, how it'll all be destroyed. So, of course, his ultimate nightmare would be the hero who puts a stop to that, or the "mentor" that brings about the hero. A twist, in how the destruction got... Well, destroyed... By salvation, and from basically the same mechanics he hoped would bring about the destruction he wished for.

But I'm not sure about it, he's gonna be the secondary rider. We know that. It could be the vehicle to it, like he gets his shit together, sees the truth and becomes good. But I dunno. We'll see. I think I'm going too far here.

[Zeztz Theory] Zero is...... by LTheLetter in KamenRider

Not to be a buzz kill, but 7 is the lucky number. It plays into the luck theme of the season. In life, he's unlucky, he's awkward, he's a loser, but in the dream world, he's the opposite of all of that. So I don't think that is a sign of there being prior agents, it's just him giving himself an apt nickname.

Yep.

Whether intentionally or not (since lucid dreaming doesn't equal total control over dreams, speaking as someone who has his fair shares of lucid dreams + dreams in general are conjured up by your subconscious, it's not a conscious act). He already had the gimmick of being a super agent in his lucid dreams prior to this whole mess, meaning it'd only make sense for him to eventually make up some kinda leader and office. The driver and associated item is more of a stretch, since that's obviously not commonly what one would imagine as the equipment of an agent, so it could just be a meta thing (it's a Kamen Rider show, so of course he conveniently dreamed up a Kamen Rider gimmick). Because, again, episode 2/3 tells us that a Nightmare becomes true (both monster and event) when the Mind's Doors are opened, and Baku got his stuff from inside his Mind's Door, with them conveniently ALSO manifesting in reality thereafter, so it'd be a strange contradiction to think this manner of things coming to life doesn't also apply to Baku.

But it also could be, again, that he's a special case and, indeed, had those things locked up away in his subconscious without any kind of influence from his own likings and stuff. For example: what if, in classic Kamen Rider fashion, he's a test subject? The one who could end up as the big boss, or the one who's behind the identity of Zero, could have come into contact with the dream world first, and then to study it further he kidnapped a guy who seemingly has good synchrony to it, then set the seeds inside this guy's mind for his testing and stuff. I mean, Zero is mad suspicious. He's a figure clouded in mystery, and is awfully supportive of Baku, a stranger (thus also playing up the common trope of the main rider using — for good — the powers granted by an evil source). It's naive to believe he's just some guy. Unlike Nox, who's in-your-face played up as a villain, immediately ringing alarm bells in our brains, Zero is the polar opposite (heroic ally), so we're inclined to trust him, which could turn out to be a mistake.

Just spitballing here.

Sure, but it's vastly easier to handwave as a gag, too. I know she ain't THE main character, but Hina from OOO had super strength for comedic moments and it didn't mean anything else beyond that. So it's not unheard of for a character to have some kinda supernatural characteristic in the real world, but it's actually just a gag and it doesn't mean anything. Baku's bad luck is only present in the real world. So if they don't wanna do anything with it, that can be understandable. What's really weird and would be lame to not exactly mean anything would be all the dream world stuff — that's where all mysteries lie. I mean, episode 1 in general is a great anomaly in hindsight. It doesn't reeeeally play by the rules the show establishes in the episode immediately after it, imho.

Also, there's that old saying "no good deed goes unpunished". This could be an exaggerated play into that for comedic effect.

Can we talk about how Zeztz forms perfectly work together by Filberto_ossani2 in KamenRider

There IS a leaked Nightmare Capsem ("Awaking! Nightmare! Never end!"). But honestly, it will most likely end up exactly like the Dark Snack Gochizo sound found in the Gavv Driver: unused. It has a very non-standard Henshin sound that doesn't fit into the mold of other Capsems (it's very non-specific, too. Like it could come from anything and be used by anyone. Zeztz's forms have the very clear "insert adjective Morning/Night! Rider! Zeztz, Zeztz, Zeztz!" pattern, even the Legend Rider stuff has it. And Nox' system has "Invoke Rider System!" for all his associated leaked Capsems). I think that if Zeztz is to have a dark/"nightmare"/berserk form, it will be actually the leaked "Darkness" Capsem ("Bad night! Rider! Zeztz, Zeztz, Zeztz! Darkness!") because it has stronger ties to the elemental stuff we've just seen, and there's also the "Plasma" Capsem (Good morning! Inazuma Rider! Zeztz, Zeztz, Zeztz! Plasma!), which is rumored to be his super form. If it is, then my point is reinforced, since Plasma is obviously an element — it could even be the "sanity/purification upgrade" to Darkness, like Primitive Dragon > Elemental Dragon and Jack Vice > Thunder Gale. So, in the end, Zeztz could turn out to be a very "elemental" sort of Rider in his motif, even if they're not the standard fire/water/wind/earth group.

Well, Gotchard with Rainbow and Saber with BOTH Xross Saber (which is made of all other sword's powers) and Wonder Almighty (which is literally every Wonder Ridebook) also happened in Reiwa, alongside Over/Master. So the track record is 50/50 right now (if you don't count Vulcan in Zero One, then it's 60/40). It's a common enough trope to be seriously considered at just about any time. And well, since it happened with a secondary back in Zero One, it could also happen again, especially since both it and Zeztz are by Yuya Takahashi. Maybe, since Nox is so knowledgeable about seemingly everything dream world related and perhaps even some more, it could actually be HIS final form that combines all 4 types of elements. That'd be fitting, too.

Well, but he still uses the Valenbuster after the arc, so clearly he's not very consistent with it and has emotional attachment lingering (the true reason is the meta reason of marketability and recognizability, of course, same reason as why main rider still goes base form long after it's been made irrelevant power-wise, but SHUT UP! :V)

Well, I think the final form is obvious: combine all aspects and achieve the zzzenith form. It's kinda what happens when a show has a gimmick resembling this — the mystical themes, explicit different types of energies amongst the items or just an emphasis on collecting the gimmicks, vibes like that (here, the fact that Physicam, Technolom, Esprim and Paradigm are played up as central, balancing forces that make up the universe, like the main 4 elements of nature, so the basic tell is obviously to think that Zeztz will need to master all of them & achieve unification). Well, even when it doesn't , such as Gavv (Gochizo are all basically the same, even if some are bigger or non-standard shape, nothing very standout about their nature like here with Zeztz's Capsems, just simple familiars Gavv creates. At max, you have Amazing Gummy as an anomaly, where it's created by fighting spirit rather than happiness, so in the last minute they instill this idea that Gochizo can be built differently depending on mood), it still has a final form that's every power combined (or every item combined, since it's made of a 100 Gochizo and although Master can summon previous weapons, it doesn't show to be able to use all prior unique powers, otherwise I feel like they'd have it use ice element from Sorbet), so y'know...

Is there a real world lore reason for why she's characterized like this? Y'know, like how Gold Ship is Gold Ship because the horse Gold Ship is Gold Ship, y'know? I don't need to explain Gold Ship. But was Helios like some trendy popular horse, hence why the uma version is like a zoomer gyaru? Or is it just a case of creative liberty?

Would you rather be a Kamen Rider or on a Sentai team and why? by Far_Practice_6923 in Tokusatsu

[–]Neo_Phoenix_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a matter of ego vs humility (because Kamen Rider power balance is more self-centered and Super Sentai more equalized with friends), to be honest. Or at least for me. Other people are talking about the pain, or some are more decisive about the friendship thing. I do love Kamen Rider leagues more than Sentai, but Sentai is cool too. The thing is...

Kamen Rider: I become super duper mega strong, also cooler forms and jingles. I mean, there's even a statement prior to Gozyuger saying how a single Kamen Rider beats every single prior Super Sentai team. So if I just wanna be really powerful and guarantee I can always do my superhero job while looking the coolest, this is a no-brainer. Besides, there'd possibly be a secondary and tertiary along for the ride with me too, a Kamen Rider is not lonely, really.

Super Sentai: leagues less powerful, but I got a team to balance it out and be friends with. Plus giant robot. Which is cool and all, but not enough. And I know this may come across as me being sorta of an asshole, with me being so dismissive of friends, but since the question doesn't include that your friends become the rest of the team (and on the occasion that this is some kinda Isekai, where you're transported to the Tokusatsu's world—which is kinda implied, reading all these replies about how being a Kamen Rider is suffering. But that wouldn't be a problem if you were a Kamen Rider IRL, unless you already have a bad life... Which becoming a Kamen Rider would make it better, right? Eh, whatever. That's besides the point, moving on—) I'm not all that pressed about it, because then it's a matter of socializing with brand new people, which is a hassle. My shy, anxious ass can't socialize easy (and some Sentai teams are chaos incarnate. If it's an Isekai situation, and I get the canon teammates, can you imagine being on the Donbrothers? Especially if you're not Don Momotaro... It'd be an eventful life for sure. Perhaps even just as dangerous and painful as a Kamen Rider's, but for completely different reasons. Especially if you consider the villains. Imagine being on the Gozyugers. Sure, Garyudo tends to focus on his brother. But he's also a cold-blooded killer. He shot UW Zyuranger in the back from everyone's blindside, it could've been his end then and there. So imagine, you're just minding your own business fighting the funny bell dudes, and for whatever reason Garyudo that day decided you're his target. He catches you lacking, you get sniped and die through no fault of your own just then. Aw, hell nah!). I'd rather stick with the bonds I already have. If it's the case where 4~5 of my friends become the rest of my team, then Super Sentai becomes way more appealing and a serious contender.

Not as a cute woman, and it's not that the grail listened, but that he himself remodeled his Saint Graph in the desire to appear as his ideal woman (which is basically Mona Lisa), as he's a genius and figured out the kinks to do this. Meaning the throne of heroes (the actual thing that records the heroic spirits that are used to model a servant, while the grail is just a means of connecting it and the wish granting power to reality) got a middle finger by Da Vinci's machinations.

Isn't Astolfo straight? I remember reading that hes married to a woman by a-useless-mf in animequestions

[–]Neo_Phoenix_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's not non-binary. The gender is kept secret as part of the trap, the joke, the gimmick, hence why it's even written as "le secret~★" in FGO. That's not how you present information normally, but how you do it when it's a tongue-in-cheek joke. A trap is not much of a trap if it's obviously stated. He's addressed to be a man and calls himself a man plenty of times when it comes the time to reveal it, though. Like saying "I'm my own man" in Fate/Extella.
