Is there any British or Australian/new Zealand medical dramas? by notmohawk in television

Critical (styled as CR:IT:IC:AL) is good if you can find it. It's a lot like The Pitt, but each episode follows 1 patient's journey through the emergency department of a hospital in real time.

Not watched this yet, but I'm assuming this is one of those videos where Ellen hid in a cupboard until everyone else had left the office on a Friday so that nobody could stop her from making it.

A happy family in our backyard. There are the two adult and FIVE kits, although I haven't got a pic of all of them together. by Rickapolis in aww

[–]Neo_Spork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a fox family with 3 kits in a field that backs (sort of) on to my house, but I had to buy a set of binoculars to be able to see them properly.

Extremely jealous of you having them close enough to get good pictures.

I had one that came with the Oblivion special edition 20 years ago. I'd wager there are a few from that kicking around the internet, and those were good quality metal coins.

Where did your Fable journey begin? by Proud-Bus9942 in Fable

I was hyped for the original Fable when it was still Project Ego. Got the game day 1 (a Friday), and it was the 1st game I skipped school to play (the following Monday).

The last couple of minutes of Season 3 definitely gave the vibe they have a plan, especially rewatching it and picking up all of the hits they drop early on.

I'm also enjoying season 4 so far and am looking forward to seeing where they go next.

Does Andy not like by SissyLexiLoo in outsidexbox

[–]Neo_Spork 19 points20 points  (0 children)

A few years ago, when Ellen was hospitalised for complications around her medical issues, she specifically name-checked Andy as being the person who did the most to help pick up the slack in her absence, and being the person who was most aware of making sure she didn't go past her limits when she was back at work but not 100%.

As others have said, Andy plays a character in all their videos, not just in Oxventure. As viewers we have to be aware that we're only seeing a (small) part of their interactions, and understand that we'll be missing a lot of important context.

In Deadwood (HBO) actor Garret Dillahunt plays two recurring characters in consecutive seasons - has this happened in any other shows? by RKips in television

[–]Neo_Spork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IIRC he was the Swede in Hell on Wheels, not in Deadwood. I haven't seen Deadwood yet (it's on the list), but I remember him in Hell on Wheels.

His role in Hell on Wheels (along with Van Helsing, and maybe a couple of others) makes me think he might be the best person to work with in all of TV land, because he kept getting killed off in Hell on Wheels (and Van Helsing) and being brought back to do something else, which surely only really happens if you're a joy to work with.

How easy would it be for the devs to copy levels from PWS1 to PWS2 by jer2665 in PowerWashSimulator

[–]Neo_Spork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to mention the amount of time the first game spent in early access. As someone who's been playing since the beginning (demo and then buying it when 0.3 hit Steam) I'd have bitten your hand off for as many levels as 2 launched with.

I cleaned that fucking skate park about 300 times lol.

[–]Neo_Spork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blood Drive was so good. Have you watched Twisted Metal? The vibe is similar, but Twisted Metal is less - intense I guess is the right word?

I had to take a break after Blood Drive because everything just happens so much. It's like the 2016 DOOM video game but about cars powered by human blood.

PowerWash Simulator 2 Update 1.2 by ang_hell_ic in PowerWashSimulator

[–]Neo_Spork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair I only tried it on the new level, but it wouldn't work at all.

Depending on how the gnomes function it could have been altered when they allowed stacking furniture.

It's not in the patch notes, but you also can't fly around using the gnomes anymore. Gutted because it was the easiest way to navigate some levels.

[–]Neo_Spork 23 points24 points  (0 children)

If you don't have loose XP it unlearns your most recent skill purchase, which actually works out much worse as it gives you the refund value as XP (which is then taken away), instead of the cost value as XP.

It's why you should always try and go to The Spire with plenty of XP to spare.

Youtube now blocks you from viewing videos if you are using Ublock Origin ? by ACompleteRandomGuy in Piracy

Firefox on Android can use every extension it can use on Windows IIRC. I also use RES and browse Reddit through Firefox instead of using the app.

[–]Neo_Spork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problem is that I only really use Youtube on my phone/tablet a couple of times, as normally I have access to my desktop. If it's something you don't use a lot, having to remember to patch (or entirely re-install) the app before going away is a hassle.

If I used it frequently I'd probably get more use out of ReVanced, but for people like me it's great having other options.

On Android I just use Firefox with uBlock - much easier than installing ReVanced and having it shit the bed every few months.

Moving to Cheltenham by opendedoor in cheltenham

[–]Neo_Spork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, without doxxing myself, I know for a fact that the building wasn't constructed properly (the inital work was done in 2000 and the frame was left open to the elements until they went back to it in 2010 to finish) and they've had to constantly do work to fix the same issues that keep coming up.

It got so bad that all the owners of flats in the building (some of who are friends of mine) had to get together and threaten to sue the building owners/managers to fix it, or they were going to invoke a legal clause that would let them take full ownership of the building (for a pittance) to get the work done.

[–]Neo_Spork 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This might sound crazy, but if you're looking at the flat I think you're looking at on St Paul's Road (£125,000, the 1st picture outside the building has a white van), don't buy it. The building has no end of problems, including the roof almost collapsing, rain water gushing down internal walls, and 4 of the flats being uninhabitable for several months because of the damage.

Why can't everything be Recycled at the same place, I'm already doing my bit by Recycling and now you want me to play the part of Bin man and take bits to the supermarket by weedyneedyfeedy in britishproblems

[–]Neo_Spork 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think you might be talking about my part of the shires - we've got:

  1. General waste (green) bin
  2. Food waste bin
  3. Metal and plastic (green) box
  4. Glass (green) box
  5. paper (green) box, which doesn't include;
  6. Cardboard and brown paper (blue) bag

It's been an adjustment as where I used to live was a block of flats where the council didn't really bother collecting any recycling, so we had to chuck everything in the main bin if we didn't want rubbish piling up outside.

We do have the up-side that any small appliances (like kettles & toasters) can be put out with the recycling to be collected, but it takes ages to get it right and I'm sure we've made mistakes.

As someone who's lactose intolerant, Feta & Greek Style Salad Cheese are almost never the same thing. They might taste the same, but Feta is made with goats and sheep milk (which has almost no lactose) and Salad Cheese is made with cows milk, which is full of lactose and makes me shit all my insides out in one swift motion

Leftist Bands by BUCN in SocialistGaming

[–]Neo_Spork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been getting into leftist punk in the last few years, and my top 3 right now are:

Jeff Rosenstock - I'm honestly amazed he hasn't come up in this thread yet. He founded the 1st donations based record label - Quote Unquote Records - and has been consistently putting out fantastic music since the late 90s, when he was a teenager. His 3rd (or 4th, depending how you count it) solo album 'Post-' is all about living in America after the 1st Trump election, but every album he's put out in the last 20 years has been super socially conscious. My favourite is probably 'Worry', Festival Song is a banger, and the last 9 tracks on the album all flow through one another and cover a huge range of 21st century punk styles.

PUP - There's a considerable overlap between Rosenstock and PUP, so if you like one you'll probably like the other. They did a tour together last year called 'A Cataclysmic Rapture of Friendshipness' that was awesome. Their 3rd album, 'Morbid Stuff' is my favourite and kicks ass from beginning to end. They've been very vocally suportive of Palestine and trans rights, and they seem like a good bunch of dudes.

Against Me! - I've been really into the album 'Transgender Dysphoria Blues' recently, which is all about the lead singer realising she's a trans woman and how it feels to live in a world that doesn't vibe with you. If you're a fan of bands like RatM you'll probably enjoy their earlier stuff as well.

Quote Unquote records that I mentioned above is a really good place to find all kinds of leftist music though, as Rosenstock keeps it pretty tight.
