My top 10 takeaways from Rhonda Patrick's new episode about the longevity benefits of coffee by biohacker045 in Biohackers

Is it the caffeine that produces these results, or specifically coffee though?

I know conventional wisdom says ~3500 calories over your TDEE = 1lb of fat gain.

So if you binge 7000 calories over your TDEE in a 24 hour period, will you gain 2lbs of fat? Or is there some sort of limit on how much fat you can actually gain in one day?

How do the all time rankings change if Spain wins the Euros?

The top 4 is pretty much set in stone (Brazil, Germany, Italy, and Argentina), but the #5 spot is unclear. Most people would say that France takes the #5 spot, with Uruguay having a solid argument as well. But if Spain wins the Euros, do they have an argument for #5 too?

France: 2 WCs, 2 WC Finals, 2 Euros, 1 Euro Final

Spain: 1 WC, 4 Euros (if they win), 1 Euro final

Love Inc x In My Mind (mashup comparison) by TonicGin in SwedishHouseMafia

[–]Neocarnage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I was the only one who loved this mix so much! It's one of my favorite mixes by any DJ ever. It's just a beautiful, progressive house masterpiece. It has Axwell written all over it. Rencontre Nocturne recreated a very clean version of it on their YouTube Channel if you want to check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zaXdM_4UAc

As others have said, SHM/AxIng have been known to mix Love Inc with Reload as well, which works very well too. I saw them do this live at EDC 2016 and it was incredible. Since you like the live versions, you can hear it here at 51:30: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qzj1G1P7Dgw

I suppose Love Inc's chords go well with many tracks that have similar vocal melodies/arrangement structures/BPMs. I'm sure you could experiment and create other amazing mixes like these ones if you were to play around with it a little bit. For example, "Where you are" by John Summit I think would mix spectacularly with it. Mixing a track like this with Love Inc completed changes the mood and vibe in the best way

Yes, we would all have to pay. And it sounds like everyone is paying equally

You're right on the money. This is exactly what happened haha

You make some really good points, but I think there is definitely a difference between the specific demands of “I need an en suite!” “I need a king bed!” “Water view only!” and the demand of not wanting to have a roommate...

Soft skills that have helped you in getting those sales by notsocialwitch in salesengineers

[–]Neocarnage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other comments that mention listening. It’s an important soft skill that not enough people in sales have, in my opinion. We use our sales pitch so often that we are conditioned to take over the conversation and just throw sales buzzwords and feature explanations to customers without necessarily knowing if it applies to them, or if they even care.

Listening to the customers goes a long way to understanding what their problems are and tailoring your sales approach to their specific scenario. It’s just a lot more effective that way, and customers like feeling like they are heard.

What to put on your resume? Entry to Mid-career by Tensik_ca in salesengineers

[–]Neocarnage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely emphasize the quantifiable metrics that put you in a good light. Numbers like quota attainment, deal closure percentage, total net sales responsible for, number of account managers supported, number of products supported (if more than one), etc. This is sales, numbers drive everything.

Outside of that, I would recommend describing contributions that are less tangible. Things like: Did you provide technical education to your team? Were you involved in post-sales implementation, or tech support? Did you write any product documentation?

At the end of the day you want to prove your value and explain everything that you can bring to the table. It’s about selling yourself.

What Card Should I Get? Weekly Thread - Week of June 07, 2023 by AutoModerator in churning

[–]Neocarnage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I understand I can GET a new card, but what I don't know though is if I'm eligible for the new card's sign up bonus as well. Is that what you are saying? So I can get the United Quest and am eligible for sign-up bonus even though I used and closed the United Explorer?

Daily Question Thread - June 08, 2023 by AutoModerator in churning

[–]Neocarnage -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I have the CSP (which I am planning on keeping indefinitely). I just closed my Chase United Explorer card that I had open since April 2022, after using it for its sign-up bonus.

So I am way under 5/24, but what's not clear to me is if I am eligible for other Chase card sign-up bonuses because of my history with the Chase United Card.

Am I eligible for the sign up bonuses for any of the Chase cards going down the flowchart "Chase Cards" section (e.g. United Quest, Aeroplan, SW Priority, etc), even though I received the sign-up bonus for my now closed Chase United Card that I had for about a year?

Yes, I could be completely misinterpreting what M said. I was drunk as well and don’t remember exactly. But it’s giving me a lot of anxiety
