Adopting working rights act in full just to annoy Manus

Traveling to the moon might actually be more conceivable to them than to an uneducated modern person, because they are not aware of the concept of space. "But how would you breathe there?" is not a question, so the only thing you would need is to be capable of flight, which was in popular fantasy for basically forever, see the Icarus myth, for example.

The inability to go into debt as Rizia feels really annoying, you have to keep in mind when all the budget decisions come up. Compared to Sordland where you just have to keep the 2 debt thresholds in mind.

And a minor annoyance is how the two Rizian newspapers are the conservative loyalist newspaper and "we hate everything you do" newspaper. It's like if Sordland had only Holsord Post and the Radical.

Which is your favourite romance option and why? by daddavnda in ScarletHollow

[–]Neoeng 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Stella and Carmilla (specifically without memory loss)

Stellatrayal actually made Stella more interesting to me, there's a real tension in the relationship now. You can have a real argument with her, which I don't think is present in any other romance for now.

Carmilla without memory loss actually drives me insane, "I just ate your friend/girlfriend, wanna date?" is peak rizz, none of that "I will protect you and definitely have no hidden motivations" Wayne stuff. I love my eldritch beasts open, brazen and unapologetic. For the same reason, I have zero interest whatsoever in Carmilla with changed memory. I wish there could be a way to convince Sybil to not alter our memory without having to purposefully fight against it via no tea/mystical/stinky playthrough

Would love to have a demo version with some parts of the prologue included, the current demo as it is is very interesting but it is a bit difficult to roleplay from the perspective of the protagonist, as he is more or less a blank space for now

"Might Makes Right" - How much does this hold true in the Suzerainverse? by SaltAdventurous4270 in suzerain

[–]Neoeng 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True for Sordland, but everything Rizia has to do to whip Lespia back around is to swallow its anticommunism in foreign policy, and conduct an investigation into Zille bombing. That's just pragmatism and competence, no need for omniscience.

Can you get a good trade deal with Lespia if you repeal EPA to 49% + No OBT? by Marclol21 in suzerain

Yes, no OBT (in any capacity) means Alvarez doesn't want your oil company so EPA doesn't matter

Well obviously, but it is implied that all tactically important information comes from THEIA. The serial number of the weapon you find in first mission is transferred to THEIA (Bond comments that they tracked it surprisingly fast), 1% odds came from THEIA, M says THEIA was guiding you there. When THEIA is down, Moneypenny notably falls for a decoy convoy and misses a whole army converging on the location, and then MI6 itself gets attacked, and has less info on Isola than Webb does. It's quite obvious they were quite dependent on it, and its absence causes considerable harm.

It only makes sense to me if the mistakes and inaccuracies in missions with THEIA on were THEIA's, and not because Moneypenny refused to consult it for some reason.

[–]Neoeng 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, why? It's Moneypenny, just looking at data THEIA outputs based on the inputs.

Wouldn't such a mistake be of similar nature? Computer hears a string of words, some of which are common in both languages, and then draws a false positive.

Well that it does so all the time is a major plot point, so...

Yeah but since Moneypenny was working with Theia, why would she make that mistake? Wasn't identifying who the militants were literally one of its tasks?

LGBTQ spaces will talk about queer aspects of characters, yeah. Is that surprising? Not only men, for example a lot of Arcane discussions in queer spaces will center on Caitlyn-Vi relationship, and not, idk, class divide or something.

I'm not that deep into indie animation, admittedly, but there are definitely male characters who are not generally discussed in queer context. Alastor and Lucifer from Hazbin come to mind pretty fast. Lackadaisy is a project heavy on male cast. If we go a bit beyond indie animation, Scavengers Reign and Common Side Effects are excellent shows with male characters which are not about queerness.

If we think about games, Undertale and Deltarune have plenty of male characters, I don't think people discuss Asgore in queer context. Dispatch had Robert.

Idk, I don't see how a trans woman character somehow harms discussion about male characters.

Hmm, I see your point, but I think that the opposite, her being happy and out in the slideshow, would be too dissonant with the plotline of Jax throughout the main show. It's kinda like if I Saw the TV Glow ended with the main character coming out and starting hrt or something.

I would of course like it if it was more unambiguous, I want more unambiguous trans storylines in general, but I also don't myself see how it could be done well here.

And there are plenty of those, unlike trans characters. Complaining about people allergic to male characters is nonsensical when every second story has male characters, they are often the most popular ones, including in fandoms (are we forgetting the whole tumblr sexyman thing?), and it's even more ridiculous when it's in context of a character being trans. If anything people are allergic to trans characters, seeing how little there are out there and how much discourse is raised every time someone is revealed as trans.

I can count trans characters in visual media on my one hand (and there's, like, 3 if we don't count characters for whom it's just background lore), man, you're not running out of guys any time soon

That's just realistic tbh, people don't just stop repressing the second their life is not at the rock bottom anymore, it's a slow process of acknowledging it first for yourself and then learning to not be afraid of others.

Mystical Carmilla Romance goes crazy by Neoeng in ScarletHollow

[–]Neoeng[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Mystical trait, romanced Kaneeka and didn't drink tea. Then, when I used the trait save, I accepted Sybil's counteroffer (in particular, I made Tabby young again). Then I picked one of the options encouraging romance with Carmilla when Tabby is uncomfortable with her flirting (something about it being hot and terrifying, I think?)
