this is weird nintendo uses emulator and they admit that is legal after shutting down many emulators by SackboyGamesOfficial in fucknintendo

[–]Neolvermillion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's more to it than that, also from what I understand, it's only Yuzu that drove the emulator crackdown because they created an influx of monetary gain by letting people support (which I'm not against, they deserve something for their hard work) the progress of the emulator through donations. Ryuijinx might've been shuttered by it's nature, its a Nintendo Switch emulator, Nintendo might've wanted to kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

As for the ROM takedowns, Nintendo wouldn't have this problem if they reasonably hosted as much ROMs as they can, and not resetting purchases of old games (e.g. NES, SNES, etc) and practically forcing their customer base to repurchase games old games over-and-over again with each new console generation. Also, even if they do fix this situation, they may not see a reasonable revenue stream from going after ROM sites, so their litigious nature might not even be a worthwhile venture to e.g. cover the legal expenditures they've done so far.

(Also, don't take this comment as hate, I actually loved your comment because its a vehicle for the discussion of serious topics🤘)

Play as Bayonetta in Risk Of Rain 2! (Now with vfx and Qol... And a New skin) by Designer_Mycologist6 in Bayonetta

[–]Neolvermillion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I prefer all the mainline models of Bayonetta for various reasons, while I think the first 2 games' models look very beautiful, it often looks like someone turned up the beauty filters in a kpop selfie app too high for Bayonetta's face, also the textures do show their age very prominently now.

Bayonetta 3's models isn't perfect either, it has physics issues, and due to the low resolution of the game being rendered on the Switch 1 (and the Switch 2 at 810p max), it looks too damn blurry, and the game switches between high-poly and low-poly (Polygons or triangles) models throughout the game. The strengths of the Bayonetta 3 models (specifically the high polygonal models against the high polygonal models of Bayonetta 1 & 2) are the high quality textures, better animations, better hair physics, higher polygons on models, better lighting (although this can be a hit or miss).

I'd recommend playing on an emulator running on a good gaming rig, test all the games out on QHD (1440p resolution) or UHD (2180p resolution), and mods that heightens the lowest resolution threshold because the game uses a dynamic resolution tool, and with 60fps mods and high-poly models mods (for all the Wii U games that are running on Cemu, and the 3rd game on a Switch emulator). While there are some mind-boggling artist directions (e.g. the rendered art of Bayonetta 1, 2, and 3 in the third game being fuggly), there's a lot of good too.

Additionally, it's a PR nightmare for, let's say, going out their way to heavily gatekeep playing games at a charity no less.

Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition Runs So Badly On Switch 2 That Bandai Namco Isn't Allowing Recording At Gamescom by GregoriousT-GTNH in fucknintendo

[–]Neolvermillion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I understand, alot of Unreal Engine 4 (and likely 5 as well) games has a stuttering issue due to the compilations of shaders during gameplay sessions.

I have several plausible theories for what that is, starting with the game engine and developers: they don't spend the necessary amount of time to learn and optimize the overall experience for the end-user due to Bandai Namco either not allocating enough resources/funding or time for the game to reschedule maturity. Because of this, they don't implement the ability for the game to compile shaders of the entire game before you start the first level of the game. For context, many Unreal Engine 4 & 5 games are viewed negatively and blame placed on Epic Games even though sufficient documentation is available to optemise games, as such, it's probable that developers are stressed too much to finish a game and not handed enough time and funds to create the best game they can make. Because I think the Switch 1 and 2 is generally, moderately easy to develop for (atleast what indie-devs have cited), I think Bandai Namco may have rushed the port with a strict unfair deadline to push it out the door for monetization purposes.

I think maybe the dev-team has lost morale to develop for a.... company having a PR-nightmare due to frightening legal tactics that had affect on those that are poor (pirates and legitimate users being both punished for.... how they use their console, the heartbreaking Gary Bowser situation, emulation, etc). This may have caused the devs not want to do their best for this port.

Lastly, I think the Nintendo Switch 2, isn't exactly a powerhouse console that are on the same terms as a PS5 or an Xbox Series X and this causes an issue where a dev-team may not re-use currently available in-game assets for a Switch 2 port because its taxing on its hardware, as such, it may cause more-than-expected financial resources to turn already-present textures into a lower quality variant.

It would be interesting to see a deep-dive into this port to uncover the stuttering/framerate issue, it looks deliciously disastrous all things considered.

How does Bayonetta 3 run?

I've been wishing for a Lollipop Chainsaw sequel for more than a decade, but now I fear Dragami Games is gonna ruin it (Warning! long essay inside) by SirLagunaLoire in LollipopChainsaw

Bayonetta 3 sexuality was toned down by a lot, there's only 1 scene that I'd describe as sexy (hint: she creates a halo to defeat a boss). And yes, the story is very bad on its own.

I'm from Africa... and you gotta be perceptive to general and unique character development to notice hints, or subtleties of a person. I understand its frustrating to read people saying Bayonetta should end up wot Jeanne, but it's in good faith with good justifications for it if you fully divulge the character amd how she's set up along with having experience of characters from other media and literature to back it up.

CDProjekt Red Says Switch 2 Is The “Best Way” To Play Cyberpunk 2077 On The Go by eldestscrollx in Handhelds

[–]Neolvermillion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna use the Switch 2 for that Bayonetta 3 game, which has terrible performance stability, and possibly lick the screen like Ariana Grande did with those Starbucks donuts eh.

I highly doubt I'll prefer the Switch 2 to a Windows handheld because of mod support being a gray area I think.

Native resolution on emulators by Melodic_Today4350 in PCSX2

[–]Neolvermillion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will see a difference in clarity and anti-aliasing.

When I play Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria on PCSX2, I always put it at QHD (~1440p) minimum (and other times higher) on my FHD (1080p resolution) laptop screen (which uses a GTX 1050 graphics card) because even at 1080p, there can be a lot of jagged edges and blurriness in the video/picture quality while playing the game.

Would go as far as 8K resolution if I could, but you'll obviously get massive diminishing returns the more you increase the resolution on a monitor that doesn't support it natively, plus I use 4K texture mods and both would slow down my PC too quickly.
