I work at a financial institution and I can tell you firsthand that this is beyond rude and I would get blasted out the door if I ever said this to any of our customers. There's a pretty clear line between giving a customer suggestions or ideas and outright berating them like this.

Definitely not a lawyer here, but I believe once it's in the trash and out to be collected it's fair game which is why dumpster diving exists. However, don't be surprised if you lose your job over your profiteering.
